In the direct synthesis of methylchlorosilanes, a series of complex by-products are formed, whichcomprises 7 weight percent of high-boiling residues(HBR).The commercial value of HBR is low, consequentlylarge inventories of residues have been built up by thesilicone industry. This inventory poses a serious problemfor it represents an expensive, relatively useless *** continued accumulation of the residue posesa storage problem. Catalytic cleavage, which converts Si-Sibond contained compounds in HBR to methylchlorosilanes,is a promising innocuous treatment technology. However,industrial applications of traditional catalysts such asLewis acid or organic amine have limitations. Recently,with the development of mesoporous materials, kinds ofnew catalysts have been applied to increase the conversionrate and the selectivity of dimethyldichlorosilane. Othercompounds could not be treated by catalytic cleavage, areconverted to variety of organosilicon products by multipleways. In this paper progress in the innocuous treatmenttechnology of HBR were reviewed. In addition a newmethod using HBR for plastic filler was introduced.

The shell traits and weight traits are measured in cultured populations of bay scallop, Argopecten irradians. The results of regression analysis show that the regression relationships for all the traits are significant (P0.05). The multiple regression equation is obtained to estimate live body weight and tissue weight. The above traits except anterior and posterior auricle length are used for the growth and production comparison among three cultured populations, Duncan's new multiple range procedure analysis shows that all the traits in the Lingshuiqiao (LSQ) population are much more significant than those of the other two populations (P0.05). The results indicate that the LSQ population has a higher growth rate and is expected to be more productive than the other two populations.

The general characteristics of coastal erosion in china are described in terms of the regional geography, the form of erosion, the causes of erosion, and the challenges we are facing. The paper highlights the relationship between coastal erosion and sea level rises, storm waves and tides, and the influence of global climate changes on coastal erosion along the coastal zone of china. The response of the risk of coastal erosion in china to climate changes has obvious regional diversity. Research into and the forecasting of the effects of climate changes on coastal erosion are systemic work involving the natural environment, social economy, and alongshore engineering projects in the global system. Facing global warming and continual enhancement of coastal erosion, suggestions for basic theoretical study, prevention technology, management system assurance, and strengthening the legal system are presented here.

A new type of magnetic device was used to replace the conventionalelectro-magnetic field for CZSi (doped with Ge) growth. The device was composed of three permanentmagnetic rings and called PMCZ device. The lines of magnetic force are horizontally distributed atradial 360℃. Using the ring permanent magnetic field, thermal convection in melt and centrifugalpumping flows due to crystal rotation could be strongly suppressed so that the fluctuations oftemperature and micro-growth rate at solid/liquid interface could be restrained effectively. In thePMCZ condition, the growing environment of SiGe bulk single crystal was similar to the crystalgrowth in space under the condition of micro-gravity. The motion of impurities (Ge, oxygen, etc.)had been controlled by diffusion near the solid/liquid interface. Oxygen concentration became lowerand the distribution of composition became more homogeneous along longitudinal direction and acrossa radial section in the grown SiGe crystal. The mechanism of PMCZ superior to MCZ was alsodiscussed.

Based on the theory of hydrogen enhanced localized plasticity of the hydrogen induced cracking and the consideration of the effect of the residual stress produced by eliminated stress heat-treatment, a fractal model of hydrogen induced cracking was presented, and the relationships among the effective surface energy (H), fractal dimension D and stress intensity factor of hydrogen induced cracking, KIH, for welding pipeline under hydrogen environment was set up, from which the relationship of D and KISCC was obtained. The model has been verified experimentally to be correct.

In many cases,service life of reinforced concrete structures is severely limited by chloride penetration until the steel ***,concrete with high resistance with respect to chloride penetration can be produced by internal hydrophobic *** aim of this study was to fill this gap in regards to reinforced concrete structures inserted in a marine *** indicated the efficacy of the hydrophobic agents in cases where capillary suction is the mechanism of water ***,when the transport mechanism is permeability this product is not ***,it was demonstrated that the chloride diffusion coefficient is reduced by the hydrophobic agents,and the corrosion rate of reinforcement could be well protected in the treated concrete with hydrophobic agents of *** durability of reinforced structures can be considerably increased and can be accurately designed by the application of an appropriate and optimized protective layer.

This work first introduces a mathematical model which describes the property of a piezoelectrically excited in resonance under weak electric *** linear equation of motion for a general shape is given and solved *** usual shapes(e.g.a rectangular shape) and unusual ones(e.g.a shape with curved sides) are considered,and the results show that some curved side piezoceramics perform better than those with a rectangular shape when using a linear model for the *** the next step a multi-objective shape optimization problem for the design of piezoelectric actuators is *** objectives,the maximum amplitude(better performance) and the minimum curvature(,simple manufacturing),need to be optimized at the same *** optimization is conducted with a subdivision algorithm based on the software package GAIO and the corresponding Pareto-optimal solutions are obtained for a linear model.
