Aim:Extrapyramidal syndrome (EPS) is most commonly affected by typical antip-sychotic drugs that have a high affinity with the D2 ***,manyresearch groups have reported on the positive relationship between the geneticvariations in the DRD2 gene and the therapeutic response in schizophrenia pa-tients as a result of the role of variations in the receptor in modulating *** this study,we evaluate the role DRD2 plays in chlorpromazine-induced EPS in schizophrenic ***:We identified seven SNP(singlenucleotide polymorphism) (-14.Cins>del,TaqIB,TaqID,Ser311Cys,rs6275.rs6277and TaqIA) in the DRD2 gene in 14. schizophrenic inpatients (5. with EPS and 87without EPS according to the Simpson-Angus Scale) treated with chlorpromazineafter 8 *** alleles of all loci were determined by PCR (polymerase chainreaction).Results:Polymorphisms TaqlD,Ser311Cys and rs6277 were not poly-morphic in the population recruited in the present *** statistical signifi-cance was found in the allele distribution of-14.Cins>del,TaqIB,rs6275.andTaqIA or in the estimated haplotypes (constituted by TaqIB,rs6275.and TaqIA) inlinkage disequilibrium between the two ***:Our results did notlend strong support to the view that the genetic variation of the DRD2 gene playsa major role in the individually variable adverse effect induced by chlorpromazine,at least in Chinese patients with *** results confirmed a previousstudy on the relationship between DRD2 and EPS in Caucasians.

Based on the data of high-resolution seismic profiles, an ancient river channel sys-tem of the last glaciation occurred along the Zhedong and Xihu depression in the southeast of Hupijiao rise. The distribution of the channel fill system shows that the ancient Changjiang River went through the Changjiang depression into the low land plain of the outside continental shelf during the low sea level cycle of the last glaciation. The big channel fill into Okinawa Trough is not found due to the depletion of the river kinetic energy in the low land plain. The river discharge dispersal was of an important role to the dilution of the northern Okinawa Trough sea at that time. Six ancient river channel systems (A―F), which are main distributaries of ancient Changjiang in the East china Sea continental shelf during the last glaciation, may be buried off the modern Changjiang estuary. The distribution of these channels coincides with the zonal elevations in the sea floor.

The genome oiganization and expression strategy of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) have been described extensively. As a structural glycoprotein on the virion surface, the spike protein is responsible for binding to host cellular receptors and for the fusion between the viral envelope and the cellular membrane. It also induces neutralizing antibodies in the host and mediates cellular immunity. Previous studies suggested that amino acid replacements in the spike protein coulddramatically alter the pathogenesis and virulence of some coronaviruses. It is therefore reasonable to test the hypothesis that radical amino acid replacements in the spike protein, favored by environmental selective pressure during the process of SARS-CoV interspecific transmission, might make this pathogen adapt to a new host, In this study, we investigated a total of 108 complete sequences of the SARS-CoV S gene from Gen-Bank (until March 23, 2004.. After omission of those records containing frame-shift mutations or low quality sequences, e.g. ZJ01, and selection of one sequence for identical records, an alignment of 4. sequences was obtained using the program Clustal-X. Then, we reconstructed the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) sequences of theSARS-CoV S gene and detected the adaptive evolution in the spike protein.

The optimal rate control problem in networks with unicast and multiratemulticast sessions is investigated. A penalty function approach is used to solve a convex programformulation of this problem, and then a heuristic rate control algorithm is derived. The algorithmis distributed, and suitable both for source-driven unicast sessions and receiver-driven multicastsessions. To obtain practical viability, the computational burden on core routers as well asend-hosts is kept very low, also is the overhead of network congestion feedback. Simulation resultsshow that the algorithm guarantees TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)-based unicast sessionscoexisting with multirate multicast sessions in a fair and friendly manner. It is also shown thatvarious fairness criteria of resource allocation could be achieved by choosing appropriate utilityfunctions, and resource-utilizing efficiencies would be likewise different.

Schistosomes cause schistosomiasis disease which severely threatens human health. Little is known about the functions of EF-hand domain containing schistosomes tegument proteins other than as an-tigens. More possible functions of these tegument proteins were investigated with in silico analyses including protein-protein functional interaction,site-specific variation and glycosylation modification. The analysis results suggested that schistosomes could actively modulate host immune responses for its own favor through functional interactions with host proteins with immunomodulatory function,and passively regulate host immune responses through sequence variation under positive selection and glycosylating the recognition sites of host immune attack. In addition,the analysis of the C-terminal domain of these tegument proteins indicated that they could assist schistosomes in escaping host immune attacks through inhibiting chemotaxis and non-complement fixing antibody (IgG4. responses. In summary,our results suggested that these tegument antigen proteins could assist schistosomes in escaping and modulating host immune responses for self-protection during the process of host-para-site interaction.

Geostationary satellites(GEOs) play a significant role in the regional satellite navigation *** experiments show that the clock corrections could be mitigated through a single strategy or double differencing strategies for a navigation constellation,but for the mode of individual GEO orbit determination,high precision orbit and clock correction could not be obtained in the orbit determination based on the pseudorange data.A new GEO combined precise orbit determination(POD) strategy is studied in this paper,which combines pseudorange data and C-band transfer ranging *** strategy overcomes the deficiency of C-band transfer ranging caused by limited stations and tracking time *** the combination of transfer ranging and pseudorange data,clock corrections between the GEO and the stations can be estimated simultaneously along with orbital parameters,maintaining self-consistency between the satellite ephemeris and clock correction *** error covariance analysis is conducted to illuminate the contributions from the transfer ranging data and the psudoranging *** data collected for a Chinese GEO satellite with 3 C-band transfer ranging stations and 4.L-band pseudorange tracking stations,POD experiments indicate that a meter-level accuracy is *** root-mean-square(RMS) of the post-fit C-band ranging data is about 0.203 m,and the RMS of the post-fit pseudorange is 0.4.8 *** component errors of the POD experiments are independently evaluated with the satellite laser ranging(SLR) data from a station in Beijing,with the residual RMS of 0.076 *** SLR evaluation also suggests that for 2-h orbital predication,the predicted radial error is about 0.4.4.m,and the clock correction error is about 1.38 *** for the combination of one C-band transfer ranging station and 4.pseudorange stations,POD is able to achieve a reasonable accuracy with the radial error of 0.280 m and the 2-h predicted radial error of 0.888 *** syn

A complex variable meshless method for fracture problems

Based on the moving least-square (MLS) approximation, the complex variable moving least-square approximation (CVMLS) is discussed in this paper. The complex variable moving least-square approximation cannot form ill-conditioned equations, and has greater precision and computational efficiency. Using the analytical solution near the tip of a crack, the trial functions in the complex variable moving least-square approxi- mation are extended, and the corresponding approximation function is obtained. And from the minimum potential energy principle, a complex variable meshless method for fracture problems is presented, and the formulae of the complex variable meshless method are obtained. The complex variable meshless method in this paper has greater precision and computational efficiency than the conventional meshless method. Some examples are given.
