In this paper,we consider a class of quadratic maximization *** a subclass of the problems,we show that the SDP relaxation approach yields an approximation solution with the worst-case performance ratio at leastα=0.87856….In fact,the estimated worst-case performance ratio is dependent on the data of the problem withαbeing a uniform lower *** light of this new bound,we show that the actual worst-case performance ratio of the SDP relaxation approach (with the triangle inequalities added) is at leastα+δ_d if every weight is strictly positive,whereδ_d>0 is a constant depending on the problem dimension and data.

This paper focuses on the performance of equalizer zero-determinant(ZD)strategies in discounted repeated Stackelberg asymmetric *** the leader-follower adversarial scenario,the strong Stackelberg equilibrium(SSE)deriving from the opponents’best response(BR),is technically the optimal strategy for the ***,computing an SSE strategy may be difficult since it needs to solve a mixed-integer program and has exponential complexity in the number of *** this end,the authors propose an equalizer ZD strategy,which can unilaterally restrict the opponent’s expected *** authors first study the existence of an equalizer ZD strategy with one-to-one situations,and analyze an upper bound of its performance with the baseline SSE *** the authors turn to multi-player models,where there exists one player adopting an equalizer ZD *** authors give bounds of the weighted sum of opponents’s utilities,and compare it with the SSE ***,the authors give simulations on unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)and the moving target defense(MTD)to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Handling variable, non-stationary ambient noise is a challenging task for automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems. To address this issue, multi-style, noise condition independent (CI) model training using speech data collected in diverse noise environments, or uncertainty decoding techniques can be used. An alternative approach is to explicitly approximate the continuous trajectory of Gaussian component mean and variance parameters against the varying noise level, for example, using variable parameter hidden Markov model (VP-HMM). This paper investigates a more generalized form of variable parameter HMMs (GVP-HMM). In addition to Gaussian component means and variances, it can also provide a more compact trajectory modeling for tied linear transformations. An alternative noise condition dependent (CD) training algorithm is also proposed to handle the bias to training noise condition distribution. Consistent error rate gains were obtained over conventional VP-HMM mean and variance only trajectory modeling on a media vocabulary Mandarin chinese in-car navigation command recognition task.

It is difficult to judge whether a given point is a global maximizer of an unconstrained optimization problem. This paper deals with this problem by considering global information via integral and gives a necessary and sufficient condition judging whether a given point is a global maximizer of an unconstrained optimization problem. An algorithm is offered under such a condition and finally two test problems are verified via the offered algorithm.

Conventional scheduling theory and algorithms have not solved the practical needsof factory management. Because of the complexity of modern manufacturing systems andthe fact that they operate in a stochastic and dynamic environment, dynamic scheduling isoften required. Dynamic flowshop scheduling is frequently met in practical situations. Inthis paper we apply an adaptive optimization framework and develop a dynamic flowshopscheduling model with the objective of minimizing the mean of flowtime of jobs arriving asa Poisson process. Static heuristic algorithms are embedded in control model as schedulingcontroller. The most commonly used dispatching rule method is also implemented andcompared with the new model through simulation. Analysis is done for different shop loadlevels and different numbers of machines. The results show that the new model performssignificantly better than the dispatching rule method.

Different from traditional tax audit, supervision with self-audit is a combination of audit by the taxpayer himself and audit by the tax authority. This paper mainly studies a taxpayer＇s optimal policy of tax evasion under supervision with self-audit and its related properties, in order to deduce some effective suggestions and theoretical bases to restrain tax evasion. Assuming that only a certain proportion of evaded tax can be discovered when the audit is executed, the authors first formulate a static model with self-audit. This model is divided into two stages. At the first stage, taxpayers declare their taxes, then the tax authority chooses audit objects, based on a known probability, and announces the result; if the taxpayer is chosen, he will enter the second stage, during which he has a chance to pay the evaded tax and the corresponding late fees and then is audited by the tax authority. The authors show the existence and uniqueness of the optimal amount of tax evasion at the first stage and the optimal proportion to self-expose at the second stage. The authors also discuss the related properties of the interior solution, and do elasticity analyses on some parameters. Besides, the authors extend the static model into the corresponding two-period model, and study the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the extended model. Finally, under the assumption that tax evasion can only be discovered with a certain probability when the audit is executed, the authors formulate another static model with self-audit and investigate its properties.

For accurately identifying the distribution charac-teristic of Gaussian-like noises in unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)state estimation,this paper proposes a non-parametric scheme based on curve similarity *** the framework of the pro-posed scheme,a Parzen window(kernel density estimation,KDE)method on sliding window technology is applied for roughly esti-mating the sample probability density,a precise data probability density function(PDF)model is constructed with the least square method on K-fold cross validation,and the testing result based on evaluation method is obtained based on some data characteristic analyses of curve shape,abruptness and *** com-parison simulations with classical methods and UAV flight exper-iment shows that the proposed scheme has higher recognition accuracy than classical methods for some kinds of Gaussian-like data,which provides better reference for the design of Kalman filter(KF)in complex water environment.
