Proton induced X-ray emission (PIXE) analysis of sources of porcelain body of Ru Guan and Jun Guan porcelains

34.samples of Ru Guan porcelain body and 50 samples of Jun Guan porcelain body (both kinds being in different body colors) were selected with the purpose of finding out the source of raw materials and their classification relationship so as to search for ways of non-destructive discrimination. Proton induced X-ray emission (PIXE) has been applied to these samples to determine their chemical elements. The data of seven major chemical elements collected from these samples were further studied through fuzzy cluster analysis. Results indicate that the origin of raw materials of Jun Guan porcelain body samples is comparatively more concentrated in certain places, while that of Ru Guan porcelain body samples is scattered about. The places of origin of raw materials of the majority of Ru Guan and Jun Guan porcelain body samples have something in common, but some differences still exist. It might be an important way for non-destructive discrimination among Ru Guan and Jun Guan porcelains by combining PIXE with fuzzy cluster analysis.

Relationships between bacterial-algal proliferating and mass extinction in the Late Devonian Frasnian-Famennian transition:Enlightening from carbon isotopes and molecular fossils

Studies show positive shifts of inorganic and organic carbon isotope values (δ 13Ccarb and δ 13Ckerogen) from +0.4. (‰ V-PDB) to +3.54.(‰ V-PDB) and from ?29.38 (‰ V-PDB) to ?24.14.(‰ V-PDB), respectively, B* (Ba* = Ba/ (Al2O3 X 15%)) values from 0.015 to 0.14., TOC values from 0.02% to 0.21%, V/Cr values from 0.3 to 2.0, Sr/Ba values from 3.20 to 4..50 in the Late Devonian Frasnian Upper rhenana zone to the top linguiformis zone of the Yangdi sec-tion deposited in carbonate slope facies of Guilin, Guangxi, South China, which indicates that biomass, productivity, organic carbon burial and salinity increase and that oxygenation near the boundary between sediments and waters decreases from the Late Devonian Frasnian Upper rhenana zone to the top linguiformis zone. Abundance of molecular fossils increases and normal alkanes, isoprenoid hydrocarbon, terpanes and steranes are dominated from the Late Devonian Frasnian to the bottom of Famennian, which shows that the predecessors of molecular fossils of the Frasnian-Famennian (F-F) transition are dominated by marine phytoplankton, zooplankton and benthic bacteria with no photosynthesis. Therefore, it is considered that the F-F transitional mass extinction with a multistage, selection and global synchronizing was caused by bacte-rial-algal proliferating, continuing deterioration of the shallow marine ecoenvironment of the mid-dle-lower latitudes. A simple cause and effect chain can be expressed as: appearance of seed plants and multi-storied forests → enhanced chemical and biochemical weathering and pe-dogenesis → wide development of soils → increasing riverine nutrient fluxes in epicontinental sea → from superoligotrophic to eutrophic in epicontinental sea → proliferating of marine phyto-plankton and zooplankton → frequent red tide and anoxia → mass extinction of shallow marine organisms in the middle-lower latitudes. Enhancing Positive Citizenship Ideals on Students Through Bibliotherapy and Cognitive Counseling

The paper views feelings touching as very important in cultivating positive citizenship ideals amongst the *** main preoccupation of the study was to provide relevant information concerning the efficacy of bibliotherapy and cognitive counseling as two methods that could be applied by counselors in school field to promote positive citizenship ideals in the *** study was carried out in Alfashir principality (Sudan)in April *** of one hundred and twenty five secondary school students were touched with regards to what they regarded as citizenship *** control and experimental measures approach,the two groups of the subjects were treated to bibliotherapy and cognitive counseling, while the third group was left as control *** indicated significant differences in the efficacy of the two methods for positively fostering citizenship ideals among the youth in favor of *** results have demonstrated that bibliotherapy can be effectively applied in school setting through the school curriculum to positively foster citizenship ideals among the youth.

A LINE SEARCH FILTER SECANT METHOD FOR NONLINEAR EQUALITY CONSTRAINED OPTIMIZATION

This paper formulates and analyzes a line search method for general nonlinear equalityconstrained optimization based on filter methods for step acceptance and secant methods for *** feature of the new algorithm is that the secant algorithm is used to produce a searchdirection,a backtracking line search procedure is used to generate step size,some filtered rules areused to determine step acceptance,second order correction technique is used to reduce infeasibility andovercome the Maratos *** convergence properties of this method are analyzed:under mildassumptions it is showed that every limit point of the sequence of iterates generated by the algorithmis feasible,and that there exists at least one limit point that is a stationary point for the ***,it is also established that the Maratos effect can be overcome in our new approach by addingsecond order correction steps so that fast local superlinear convergence to a second order sufficient localsolution is ***,the results of numerical experiments are reported to show the effectivenessof the line search filter secant method.

Bifurcations of Rough Heteroclinic Loops with Three Saddle Points

In this paper, we study the bifurcation problems of rough heteroclinic loups cormecting threc saddle points for a higher-dimensional system. Under some transversal conditions and the nontwisted condition. the existence. uniqueness. nd incoexistencc of thc l-heteroclinic loop with threc or two saddle pomts. l-homoclinic orbit and l-periodic orbit near T are obtained. Nleanwhile, the bifurcation surfaces and existence regions are also given. Moreover. the above bifurcation results are extended to the case for heteroclinic loop with l saddle points.

By using the continuation theorem of Mawhin’s coincidence degree theory, a sufficient condition is derived for the existence of positive periodic solutions for a distributed delay competition model , where r 1 and r 2 are continuous ω-periodic functions in R + = [0,∞.) with are positive continuous ω-periodic functions in R + = [0,∞.), b i (i = 1, 2) is nonnegative continuous ω-periodic function in R + = [0,∞.), ω and T are positive constants, and . Some known results are improved and extended.
