An improved approach to the efficient construction of and search operations in motion graphs

Motion graphs have been widely used as an effective technique in the synthesis of human *** synthesize well-formed motions,motion graphs require smooth transitions and good ***,the time and costs grow quadratically as the graph size *** this paper,we present a method to set up a hierarchical structure,called a structure *** coarse level of this graph models different motion categories and their transitions,and the fine level mainly captures different motion *** interpolation space method is used to improve the graph connectivity at the fine *** structure guides the establishment of a faster and more realistic graphical *** the building process,this structure also helps with searching the motion graph,by performing a traverse search and placing the findings into a direct look-up table or local search ***,when there is no direct link between the different motions,a navigation map is introduced to conduct an appropriate search path via a series of transition motion *** experimental results indicate that our approach could lower the computation time in construction and searching,while simultaneously providing a richer variety of motion styles.

Guaranteed cost control for T-S fuzzy systems with time-varying delays

This paper deals with the problem of guaranteed cost control for nonlinear systems with time-varying delays which is represented by Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy models with time-varying *** derivatives of time-varying delay are not necessary to be *** on the free weighting matrix method,sufficient conditions for the existence of fuzzy guaranteed cost controller via state feedback are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）.A minimizing method is also proposed to search the suboptimal upper bound of the guaranteed cost *** results are delay-dependent but contain delay-independent criteria as a special case.A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and less conservativeness of our work.

The line emissions and polarization in blazars

The correlations between broad-line emission,polarization,and core-dominance parameters are investigated for a sample of 148 blazars(BL Lacertae objects-BLs and flat spectrum radio quasars-FSRQs). An anti-correlation between the broad-line luminosity and the linear polarization is found. The broad-line and polarization relation can be explained by using a relativistic beaming model,which perhaps suggests that BL Lacs and FSRQs are a single class. We also investigated the relation between the ratio of the broad-line luminosity to the Eddington luminosity and linear polarization,and that between the ratio of the broad-line luminosity to the Eddington luminosity and the core-dominance parameter.

Solvothermal synthesis of crystalline carbon nitrides

A solvothermal reaction of anhydrous C3N3Cl3 and Li3N using benzene as the solvent has been carried out to prepare crystalline carbon nitrides successfully at 350℃ and 5—6 MPa. X-ray diffraction (XRD) indicated that the major part of our brown sample was mainly composed of a-C3N4 and b-C3N4 with lattice parameters of a = 0. 65 nm, c = 0.47 nm for a-C3N4 and a = 0.644 nm, c = 0. 246 nm for b-C3N4, which match the latest ab-initio calculations quite well. The N/C ratio in the powder is about 0.66. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron spec-troscopy (XPS) analyses suggested the presence of both sin-gle and double carbon-nitrogen bonds. The kinetics effects of our solvothermal reaction to prepare crystalline carbon ni-trides are also discussed chiefly.

Torque model of hydro turbine with inner energy loss characteristics

This paper presents the result and analysis of the composition of energy loss occurring in the hydro turbine. Two new types of energy losses,namely the hydraulic loss in the flow channel and the impact loss,are defined. All losses within the hydro turbine are divided into four types and the loss coefficients are defined accordingly. Expressions or characteristic descriptions of these losses as well as the calibration method of the loss coefficients are presented. Furthermore,the torque model of the hydro turbine where the inner energy loss takes place is established. The developed model has been used to calculate the power loss due to the mechanical friction generated by the units’ rotation to solve the difficulty of measurements of the mechanical friction loss in the hydro turbine. The definition of the impact loss explains the phenomenon that the loss of no-load is greater than that of the rated operation. A set of conversion coefficients are defined using the characteristic parameters at the rated operation,which are used to transform the parameters in the torque model into those that are easily measured. Therefore,the expression of the hydro turbine power is converted into a function that has the main servomotor displacement as its single variable. This makes the proposed model be convenient to use. Finally,the proposed model and methods are calibrated and verified using the measured data of a hydropower plant. Good agreement between the modeled results and the measurements indicates that the proposed model can represent the inner energy loss characteristics of the hydro turbine.

Phase behavior of TXs/toluene/water microemulsion systems for solubilization absorption of toluene

Triton Xs （TXs） surfactants/cosurfactant/water/oil （toluene） microemulsion systems for enhancing toluene solubilization were proposed and its potential was investigated for toluene removal from gas stream. The results indicated that TX-100 was superior to other TXs surfactants in removing toluene without cosurfactant. The efficiency of cosurfactants for improving toluene solubilization capacity follows the order： amine 〉 alcohol 〉 acid. According to the factor analysis, the linear cosurfactants are better than the branched ones. The effects of hydrophile-lipophile balance （HLB）, salt （NaCl） concentration and temperature on the formation of microemulsion system were also discussed. The results suggested that the optimum value of HLB was 15, the effect of NaCl concentration on the system was inconspicuous and the lower temperature enhanced the solubilization capacity. Nonionic surfactant-based microemulsions had a significant absorption enhancement for toluene, indicated by as much as 82.72% of toluene in phase composition diagram, which will have a great prospect in air pollution treatment.

Wrinkle-crease interaction behavior simulation of a rectangular membrane under shearing

Wrinkling analysis of a rectangular membrane with a single crease under shearing is performed to understand the wrinkle-crease interaction behaviors. The crease is considered by introducing the residual stresses from creasing and the effective modulus into the baseline configuration with assumed circular cross-sectional crease geometry. The wrinkling analysis of the creased membrane is then performed by using the direct perturb-force （DP） simulation technique which is based on our modified displacement components （MDC） method. Results reveal that the crease may influence the stress transfer path in the membrane and further change the wrinkling direction. The crease appears to improve the bending stiffness of the membrane which has an effective resistance on the wrinkling evolution. The effects of the crease orientation on wrinkle-crease interaction are studied toward the end of this paper. The results show that the wrinkling amplitude, wavelength, and direction increase as the crease orientation increases, and the wrinkling number decreases with the increasing crease orientation. These results will be of great benefit to the analysis and the control of the wrinkles in the membrane structures.

Identifying heavy hitters in high-speed network monitoring

Identifying heavy hitters in a network traffic stream is important for a variety of network applications ranging from traffic engineering to anomaly detection such as detection of denial-of-service attacks. Existing methods generally examine newly arriving items in the stream, perform a small number of operations using a small amount of memory, and still provide guarantees on the identifying accuracy. In high-speed network monitoring, the update speed per item is extremely critical. However, so far as we know, there are no identifying algorithms which can provide constant update time (O(1)) in a weighted data stream. In this paper, we present an algorithm named Weighted Lossy Counting (WLC) which is able to identify heavy hitters in a high-speed weighted data stream with constant update time. WLC employs a novel efficient partially ordered data structure which is able to provide a fast per-item update speed while keeping the memory cost relatively low. We compare WLC with state-of-the-art algorithms for finding heavy hitters in real traffic traces. The experimental results show that WLC performs well in accuracy (recall, precision and average relative error) as other algorithms; moreover it has a much higher update speed at the cost of relatively larger memory space used. A theoretical worst-case memory bound of WLC is also derived in this paper; however, experiments with long real traffic traces show that WLC requires much less space than the theoretical bound in practice.
