Experimental Study of Rat Beta Islet Cells Cultured under Simulated Microgravity Conditions

To observe the effects of simulated microgravity on beta islet cell culture, we have compared the survival rates and the insulin levels of the isolated rat islet cells cultured at micro- and normal gravity conditions. The survival rates of the cells cultured were determined by acridine orange-propidium iodide double-staining on day 3, 7 and 14. The morphology of the cells was observed by electron microscopy. Insulin levels were measured by radio immuno assays. Our results show that the cell number cultured under the microgravity condition is significantly higher than that under the routine condition (P<0.01). Some tubular structure shown by transmission electron microscopy, possibly for the transport of nutrients, were formed intercellularly in the microgravity cultured group on day 7. There were also abundant secretion particles and mitochondria in the cytoplasm of the cells. Kalman filtering for time-delayed linear systems

This paper is to study the linear minimum variance estimation for discretetime systems. A simple approach to the problem is presented by developing re-organized innovation analysis for the systems with instantaneous and double time-delayed measurements. It is shown that the derived estimator involves solving three different standard Kalman filtering with the same dimension as the original system. The obtained results form the basis for solving some complicated problems such as H, fixed-lag smoothing, preview control, H, filtering and control with time delays.

＜正＞A sufficient condition is given to determine if a configuration of accelerometers of non-gyro micro inertial measurement unit （NGMIMU） is feasible. NGMIMU uses only accelerometers to compute the motion of a moving body. If the condition is satisfied, the angular acceleration and the linear acceleration in three directions can be expressed by the linear combination of the angular velocity and the accelerometer output. And the posture of a moving body can be estimated using a numerical iteration algorithm. Two configurations of accelerometers are analyzed in detail and the results verify the correctness of the condition. This research serves as an important criterion for the research of other problems of NGMIMU.

Expression of PHGPx in mammalian cells and its antiviral effect against coxsackievirus group B

To express human phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione peroxidase (PHGPx) in eukaryotic cells and to study its antiviral effect against Coxsackievirus B3m (CVB3m) in vitro, PHGPx cDNA was amplified from a human testis library using specific primers and cloned into expression vector pcDNA3. I/His. Expression of PHGPx was performed in COS-1 cells. The antiviral effect was studied by the treatment of HeLa cells with the recombinant PHGPx. Results showed that the activity of PHGPx expressed in COS-1 cells was 5-fold higher than that in control group, and it inhibited the cytopathic effect on HeLa cells caused by CVB3m. It can be concluded that recombinant PHGPx expressed in COS-1 cells has antiviral effect against CVB3m in vitro.

When developing a humanoid myo-control hand,not only the mechanical structure should be considered to afford a high dexterity,but also the myoelectric (electromyography,EMG) control capability should be taken into account to fully accomplish the actuation *** paper presents a novel humanoid robotic myocontrol hand (AR hand Ⅲ) which adopted an underac- tuated mechanism and a forearm myocontrol EMG *** AR hand Ⅲ has five fingers and 15 joints,and actuated by three embedded *** can be found within each finger and between the rest three fingers (the middle finger,the ring finger and the little finger) when the hand is grasping *** the EMG control,two specific methods are proposed:the three-fingered hand gesture configuration of the AR hand Ⅲ and a pattern classification method of EMG signals based on a statistical learning algorithm-Support Vector Machine (SVM).Eighteen active hand gestures of a testee are recognized ef- fectively,which can be directly mapped into the motions of AR hand Ⅲ.An on-line EMG control scheme is established based on two different decision functions:one is for the discrimination between the idle and active modes,the other is for the recog- nition of the active *** a result,the AR hand Ⅲ can swiftly follow the gesture instructions of the testee with a time delay less than 100 ms.

Robust model-reference control for descriptor linear systems subject to parameter uncertainties

Robust model-reference control for descriptor linear systems with structural parameter uncertainties is investigated. A sufficient condition for existing a model-reference zero-error asymptotic tracking controller is given. It is shown that the robust model reference control problem can be decomposed into two subproblems: a robust state feedback stabilization problem for descriptor systems subject to parameter uncertainties and a robust compensation problem. The latter aims to find three coefficient matrices which satisfy four matrix equations and simultaneously minimize the effect of the uncertainties to the tracking error. Based on a complete parametric solution to a class of generalized Sylvester matrix equations, the robust compensation problem is converted into a minimization problem with quadratic cost and linear constraints. A numerical example shows the effect of the proposed approach.

An improved particle filter for nonlinear,nonGaussian estimation is proposed in this *** algorithm consists of a particle filter that uses a proximal support vector regression（PSVR） based re-weighting scheme to re-approximate the posterior density and avoid sample impoverishment.A regression function is obtained by PSVR over the weighted sample set and each sample is re-weighted via this ***,posterior density of the state is re-approximated to maintain the effectiveness and diversity of *** experimental results demonstrate that the efficiency of the proposed algorithm compared with the generic particle filter and Markov Chain Monte Carlo（MCMC） particle filter.

Because of its broad spectrum and high efficiency,the microwave disinfection was used to control the airborne microbial contaminates in VAC *** microwave disinfection devices were developed combined with air filter,the design and calculation method was presented,and the disinfection effects on White staphylococcus,Staphylococcus aureus,Bacillus Subtilis,Escherichi coli were *** results show that the major influence factors on disinfection effect are microwave power,water-content of filter material,disinfecting *** 15 min,the kill ratio is >90%,and the log value is >*** microwave field is uniform and the kill effect of bacteria on each surface of filter is the same,without statistically significant difference.
