This paper described that there were two or more endpoints in the curve when potentiometeric titration was used to determine the contents of mercaptan sulfur in residue fluidized catalytic cracking (rFCC) gasoline. Comparing with the one endpoint of a mixture solution of C-SH to C-SH determined under the same conditions, we found some components in rFCC gasoline affected the result of titration. A facile method washing the gasoline with 2% HCl solution was brought out to eliminate the interfering components from the rFCC gasoline. After being treated with this method, all rFCC gasoline that contained 14 to 27 ug/mL mercaptan sulfur (SrSH) met the quality specification (SrSH shall not exceed 10ug/mL. The analysis of gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and gas chromatography infrared spectrometer (GC-Ir) verified that the interfering components were aniline, phenol and their alkyl-substituted derivatives.

AIM: To determine the mechanisms of effects of phytoestrogen genistein on the contracted rabbit aortic arteries in vitro, and observe the effect of genistein and 17-β estradiol on mean arterial pressure (MAP) in ovariectomized (OVX) rats. METHODS: (1) Strips of rabbit aortic smooth muscle were suspended in organ baths containing Kreb’s solution, and then isometric tension was measured. (2) Female mature Wistar rats underwent a bilateral ovariectomy (OVX). Sham-operated rats (SHAM) were used as controls. After administration of genistein (0.4 mg·kg-1·d-1, sc), 17-β estradiol (1 mg·kg-1·d-1, sc) or theirvehicle sesame oil for 21 d,MAP was measured. rESULTS: (1) Similar to 17-β estradiol, genistein could dose-dependently relax 40 mmol/L KCl-precontracted arterial strips. Incubation with Nω-L-nitro-arginine (L-NNA), methylene blue (MB), indomethacin, propranolol or endothelium removal did not affect relaxation induced by genistein. In calcium-free solution containing 0.01mmol/L egtazic acid (EGTA), genistein inhibited not only the first phase contraction induced by noradrenaline (NA), but also the second contraction induced by CaCl2. In addition, genistein could reduce the contractile responses of NA, KCl and CaCl2, and shift their cumulative concentration-response curves rightward. (2) MAP in OVX rats was significantlyhigher compared with that of SHAM rats. However,after chronically treatment with genistein or 17-β estradiol for 21 d the baseline MAP in OVX rats was reduced significantly. CONCLUSIONS: (1) The vasodilator effect of genistein in vitro is endothelium independent and not related to the nitric oxide, its mechanisms being probably due to inhibition of Ca2+ influx through calcium channels in a noncompetitive manner and Ca2+ release from intracellular store induced by NA. (2) Administration of genistein or 17-β estradiol can chronically decrease MAP in OVX rats.

Although the caustic sulfur components in LPG have been removed, the process converted the result of copper strip corrosion test from passing into failing sometimes still happens when the LPGs are stored in tanks for several days in some refineries. By analyzing the sulfur species in LPGs that passed and failed in copper strip corrosion test with GC-FPD and GC-MS, It was found that hydrogen sulfide and methanethiol were the main corrosive components. The partial conversion of dimethyl disulfide is the source of hydrogen sulfide and methanethiol in LPG.

Abstract: Terbium can form a stable binary chelate with terephthalic acid (benzene-1. 4-dicarboxylic acid(TPA) ) having a ratio of 1: 2 in aqueous solution in the pH range of 5～6. The maximum excitation and emission wavelengths are 260 nm and 545 nm for terbium chelate, respectively. The fluorescence intensity of terbium chelate remains stable in 8h with a relative standard deviation in the range of =4X. The rest of the lanthanide ions and the common foreign ions hardly interfere the determination.

The Luliang and Baoshan basins of Yunnan Province are two small-sizedcontinental oil/gas-bearing sedimentary basins, which were developed at the bases of theCarboniferous and Devonian systems during the Late Tertiary, covering an area of 325 km^2 and 254km^2, respectively. Since the 1990s, there have been discovered small-sized natural gas pools inthese two basins. The natural gases are composed mainly of hydrocarbon gases, with nonhydrocarbonsaccounting for less than 2%. Of the hydrocarbon gases, methane accounts for more than 99%, and thecomponents above C_2 account for less than 0.2%. On the basis of previous studies of geologicalbackground, the composition of natural gases and their carbon isotopic composition, it has beendefined that these two gas pools are of bacterial origin. In this work we have comprehensivelymeasured the carbon and hydrogen isotopic composition of natural gases from these two basins andhave gone into the details of the mechanism of gas generation. The δ^(13)C_1 values of naturalgases from the Luliang Basin are within the range of -72.1 per thousand - -73.3 per thousand, andthe δD_(CH_4) values, -242 per thousand - -234 per thousand, indicating that the bacterial gasgeneration is dominated by the way of CO_2 reduction. It has been evidenced that undercontinental-facies fresh water conditions there did occur the CO_2 reduction as a process ofbacterial gas generation. The δ^(13)C_1 values of natural gases from the Baoshan Basin are withinthe range of - 62.5 per thousand - -63.5 per thousand, and the δD_(CH_4) values, -252 per thousand- -260 per thousand. These isotopic characteristics are fallen into transitional phase of acetatefermentation and CO_2 reduction as defined by Whiticar et al. (1986). An important discovery in theLuliang Basin is the carbon isotopic composition of ethane of purely biogenetic origin, i.e., itsδ^(13)C_2 values are within the range of - 61.2 per thousand - - 66.0 per thousand. The UV absorption and fluorescence spectra of 1,3-di (α-naphthyl) propane (1), di (α- naphthylmethyl) ether (2), and α-methylnaphthalene (3) in aqueous methanol, ethanol, and DMSO were recorded as a function of Φ value (fraction of water in binary solvents). The existence of two sta- tes, a metastable state (defined as m) and a stable stationary state (defined as s), of molecules 1 as well as 2 in the above cosolvents at high Φ was shown by the contrary fluorescence excimer to monomer intensity (Ie/Im)vs. Φ relationships of the samples prepared with different processes. On the basis of the Φ value, substrate concentration, and the temperature dependence of the UV spectra. fluores- cence excitation and emission spectra, the chromophores of 1, 2 show the formation of aggregates in ground state at high Φ owing to the hydrophobic interaction. The m states consist of a supersaturated solution with aggregates, whereas the s states are suspended microcrystals or micro-oil-droplets with aggregates. The conformations of the molecules in the aggregates were discussed. Single crystal X-ray structure of 2 is reported.

This test method is used to determine the property of lubricants by measure the pa-rameters such as the coefficient of friction, wear value and seizure load on the Four Ball Wear TestMachine. Experiments were conducted using ASTM D5183-95 Standard Test Method (StandardTest Method For Determination Of The Coefficient of Friction of Lubricants Using the Four BallWear Test Machine) to measure the friction reducing ability , antiwear property and ex-treme-pressure property of different type of lubricants, the additives are also been studied at thesame time. From the test result, this test method can distinguish not only the property of differenttype of lubricants rapidly, sensitively and effectively but also can reflect the friction reducingability , antiwear property and extreme-pressure property of various additive formula.
