Battery energy storage technologies have witnessed both dramatic cost reduction and technical evolution in recent *** is leading to widespread deployment of battery energy storage systems(BESSs)worldwide,particularly to support operation of power grids with already deep penetration of *** the development of new battery technologies with different power-to-energy ratios and for various engineering applications,BESSs could play a strategic role towards a net-zero energy *** opportunities are emerging for BESSs to participate in several markets,provide different grid services,and perform“value stacking”,eventually allowing development of new business cases and improved BESS *** configurations that are“behind the meter”,“in front of the meter”,hybrid plants co-located with renewables,and so forth,are only some of the exciting propositions that are being seen in different countries and at different scales,from highly distributed(virtual power plants),to neighbourhood-level(community batteries),to utility scale.

The scale of distributed energy resources is increasing,but imperfect business models and value transmission mechanisms lead to low utilization ratio and poor *** address this issue,the concept of cleanness value of distributed energy storage(DES)is proposed,and the spatiotemporal distribution mechanism is discussed from the perspectives of electrical energy and *** on this,an evaluation system for the environmental benefits of DES is constructed to balance the interests between the aggregator and the power system ***,an optimal low-carbon dispatching for a virtual power plant(VPP)with aggregated DES is constructed,where-in energy value and cleanness value are both *** achieve the goal,a green attribute labeling method is used to establish a correlation constraint between the nodal carbon potential of the distribution network(DN)and DES behavior,but as a cost,it brings multiple nonlinear ***,a solution method based on the convex envelope(CE)linear re-construction method is proposed for the multivariate nonlinear programming problem,thereby improving solution efficiency and ***,the simulation verification based on the IEEE 33-bus DN is *** simulation results show that the multidimensional value recognition of DES motivates the willingness of resource users to ***,resolving the impact of DES on the nodal carbon potential can effectively alleviate overcompensation of the cleanness value.

Single-atom catalysts(SACs)attract widespread attention in heterogeneous catalysis due to their maximum atomic utilization efficiency and unique physical and chemical ***,their applications in chemical sensing keep huge potential but remain ***,a Ni-N_(4)-C SAC was synthesized for the trace detection of dopamine(DA)and uric acid(UA).The Ni-N_(4)-C SAC exhibited superior sensing performance compared to the Ni *** detection range for DA and UA were 0.05–75μM and 5–90μM with detection limits of 0.027 and 0.82μM,*** functional theory(DFT)computations indicate that Ni-N_(4)-C has a lower reaction barrier during electrochemical process,indicating that the atomic Ni sites possess higher intrinsic activity than Ni ***,DA and UA show strong potential dependency on the Ni-N_(4)-C catalyst,indicating its applicability for their concurrent *** work extends the application of SACs in chemical sensing.

A virtual battery(VB)provides a succinct interface for aggregating distributed storage-like resources(SLR)to interact with a utility-level *** overcome the drawbacks of existing VB models,including conservatism and neglecting network constraints,this paper optimizes the power and energy parameters of VB to enlarge its flexibility *** optimal VB is identified by a robust optimization problem with decision-dependent *** algorithm based on the Benders decomposition is developed to solve this *** proposed method yields the largest VB satisfying constraints of both network and *** studies verify the superiority of the optimal VB in terms of security guarantee and less conservatism.

The calculation of the indirect carbon emis-sion is essential for power system policy making,carbon market development,and power grid *** em-bedded carbon emissions of the electricity system are commonly calculated by carbon emission flow ***,the calculation procedure is time-consuming,especially for a country with 500-1000 thousand nodes,making it challenging to obtain nationwide carbon emis-sions intensity ***,the calculation procedure requires to gather all the grid data with high classified levels from different power grid companies,which can prevent data sharing and cooperation among different *** paper proposes a distributed computing algorithm for indirect carbon emission that can reduce the time consumption and provide privacy *** core idea is to utilize the sparsity of the nodes’flow matrix of the nationwide grid to partition the computing procedure into parallel sub-procedures exe-cuted in multiple *** flow and structure data of the regional grid are transformed irreversibly for pri-vacy protection,when transmitted between terminals.A 1-master-and-N-slave layout is adopted to verify the *** algorithm is suitable for large grid compa-nies with headquarter and branches in provinces,such as the State Grid Corporation of china.

Through investigations on the growth of the (100) face of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) crystal by ex situ atomic force microscopy (AFM) with different pH values at different supersaturations at 40°C,it was found that the growth of crystal was controlled by step flow at lower supersaturations,and the morphologies of steps were different under different growth *** addition,at the higher supersaturations,2D nucleation mechanism controlled the *** the supersaturations were lower,the dislocation mechanism controlled the growth of crystal,and when σ≥0.05,2D nucleation mechanism played a dominant role in the growth of the (100) face for pH=4.2 and pH=***,for pH=5.0,the dislocation mechanism also dominated the growth of crystal when the supersaturations were lower,but when σ≥0.03,the crystal growth was controlled by 2D nucleation *** investigations on the step flow of the (100) face of KDP crystal by in situ AFM with different pH values at lower supersaturations at 25°C,the velocities of normal growth of the (100) face were estimated at different growth conditions by in situ *** was found that when the pH value was 5.0,the normal growth rate was the fastest at the same supersaturation compared to the other pH values and screw dislocation mechanism controlled the crystal *** addition,we found that with the reduction of the supersaturation of the solution,the density of steps also decreased,the width of steps became ***,a phenomenon which was the obvious anisotropic growth of steps in the step flow was observed by in situ AFM at σ=0.025 at pH=5.0.

The instability of forced flow in a rotating cylindrical pool with a differentially rotating disk on the free surface is investigated through a series of unsteady three-dimensional numerical *** results show that the basic flow state of this system is axisymmetric and steady,but has rich structures at the meridian ***,when the rotation Reynolds number exceeds a critical value,the flow will undergo a transition to three-dimensional oscillatory flow,characterized by the velocity fluctuation waves traveling in the azimuthal *** main characteristics of the flow patterns are presented,including the propagating direction,velocity,amplitude and wave number,which depend on the rotation rates and directions of the disk and the cylindrical pool,and the critical conditions for the onset of oscillatory flow are also *** the case of disk-only rotation,the centrifugal instability is responsible for the flow transition,and when the disk isoand counter-rotates with the cylindrical pool,the mechanisms for the transition are elliptic and of circular shear instabilities,respectively.

A renewable MFC (microbial fuel cell) cathode was used in this study because the iodide ion could react with oxygen to generate triiodide under natural *** feasibility of the regeneration of triiodide ion under natural sunlight and the effect of the regenerated triiodide ion concentration on the MFC performance were *** results showed that the power density of the MFC using triiodide ion as cathodic electron acceptor was significantly higher than that of using ferricyanate,and that the iodide ion can be oxidized to triiodide ion by oxygen in air at the expense of natural *** addition,it was obvious from the experimental results that the MFC performance was improved with the increase of the triiodide concentration,indicating that the concentration of triiodide ion had a critical effect on the MFC *** linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) curves for the electro-reduction of triiodide ion on the carbon paper were obtained and the results suggested that the diffusion process of triiodide ions to cathode was the control factor for the MFC performance.
