Uncertainty modeling and data quality for spatial data and spatial analyses are im-portant topics in geographic information science together with space and time in geography,as well as spatial analysis. In the past two decades,a lot of efforts have been made to research the uncertainty modeling for spatial data and analyses. This paper presents our work in the research. In particular,four progresses in the re-search are given out: (a) from determinedness-to uncertainty-based representation of geographic objects in GIS; (b) from uncertainty modeling for static data to dy-namic spatial analyses; (c) from modeling uncertainty for spatial data to models; and (d) from error descriptions to quality control for spatial data.

Recent studies direct the researchers into building DNA computing machines with intelligence, which is measured by three main points: autonomous, programmable and able to learn and adapt. Logical inference plays an important role in programmable information processing or computing. Here we present a new method to perform autonomous molecular forward inference for expert system. A novel repetitive recognition site (RRS) technique is invented to design rule-molecules in knowledge base. The inference engine runs autonomously by digesting the rule-molecule, using a Class IIB restriction enzyme PpiI. Concentration model has been built to show the feasibility of the inference process under ideal chemical reaction conditions. Moreover, we extend to implement a triggering communication between molecular automata, as a further application of the RRS technique in our model.

Based on ranging intersection theory, a new method which is simple and easy to operate was proposed for data collection in the mine surface deformation monitoring with GPS-RTK centering rod measurements. It can fully eliminate the inevitable shaking error and the vertical deflection, and to some extent weaken the multipath effect on the estimates of coordinates in a relatively short period of time, using high-frequency observations. The results show that three-dimensional coordinates with a height accuracy better than 1 cm, horizontal accuracy better than 2-4 cm can be achieved through only 15-30 s continuous observation by 20 Hz high-frequency and effectively improve the measurement accuracy and efficiency of RTK, fully satisfying the high-speed and high-precision data acquisition in mine surface subsidence deformation monitoring.

Constrained Delaunay Triangular Irregular Networks (CD-TIN),a kind of special data structure,have many practical applications in Geoinformatics,especially in the representation of linear constrained triangulation for DTM and DSM,such as in digital city and digital mine. Past researches on D-TIN mainly focused on point in-sertion and deletion without consideration of constraint,and that on CD-TIN usu-ally paid more attention to the insertion algorithms for points and edges,but little to the deletion algorithms. The presented algorithms are far insufficient for the dy-namic updating of CD-TIN. In this paper,the constraint edge in CD-TIN is consid-ered to be any set of broken lines,i.e.,polygon edges,broken lines and simple segments. The constraint edge may be composed of one or more constraint seg-ments,and it is allowed to be in any form: Open or close,intersection or self-in-tersection. By improving to present insertion and deletion algorithms for D-TIN,two new algorithms for CD-TIN updating are presented. According to the polymorphism of the constraints in CD-TIN,virtual point is adopted to represent the crossing node between constraint edges when a constraint edge is inserted in CD-TIN. Two new algorithms named as Integral Ear Elimination (IEE) and Influence Domain Retrian-gulation for Virtual Point (IDRVP) are presented,the former is for constraint point deletion,while the later is for the insertion and deletion of constraint edge. The principle of IDRVP is that to divide the influence domain of a virtual point into some parts by the constraint-keeping edges,and to retriangulate each part of the influ-ence domain individually referring to the constraint visible property and constraint empty circle (CEC) criterion. Finally,a prototype system is developed with VC++,one case on the integration of 3D terrain and buildings is demonstrated to test the correctness of new algorithms. It shows that the new algorithms are effective for the updating of CD-TIN.

In this paper,a novel method to automatically detect protein spots on a two-dimensional (2-D) electrophoresis gel image is proposed to implement proteomics analysis of complex *** the basis of the identifying spots results based on color variation and spot size features,morphological feature is introduced as a new criterion to distinguish protein spots from non-protein ***-sharpening,edge-detecting and morphological feature extraction methods were consequently combined to detect protein spots on a 2-D electrophoresis gel image subject to strong *** proposed method was applied to detect the protein spots of proteomic gel images from *** cell,human kidney tissue and human *** results demonstrated that this method is more accurate and reliable than previous methods such as PDQuest 7.2 and ImageMaster 5.0 software for detecting protein spots on gel images with strong interferences.

This paper presents the technical basis for wide area real time decimetre positioning services using multiple carrier signals transmitted by future GNSS such as modernized GPS and Compass systems. The first step is to form two ionosphere-reduced extra-widelanes (EWL) that have the minimal total noise levels in cycles, considering the effects of the ionospheric and tropospheric delays, orbital error, and phase noise terms in various observational environments. The proposed three carrier ambiguity resolution approach can determine the integer ambiguities of the selected EWL signals with geometry-free and geometry- based estimations respectively over the distances of typically hundreds of kilometres. With two ambiguity-fixed EWL signals, the kinematic positioning solutions can be achieved in decimetre level accuracy. A semi-simulation method is employed to generate three frequency Compass data to demonstrate the above expected performance for decimetre positioning services. Both theoretical and experimental results have demonstrated the overall 3D root mean square accuracy of better than 15 cm obtained through with a phase smoothing process over 120 epochs. The dominating error factor in this positioning result is the residual tropospheric biases, which would become less correlated as the baselines grow beyond hundreds of kilometres. With respect to dual-frequency based precise point positioning and wide area differential positioning solutions, a major advantage of using the third frequency signals is the convergence time being shorten from tens of minutes to a few minutes. In addition, due to the instant ambiguity resolution capability, phase breaks or cycle slips no longer affect the continuity of the solutions. This reliable decimetre positioning capability introduces a significant improvement to safety-of-life, liability-critical and professional applications.

Probability theory faces difficulties when it is applied to describing uncertain objects in geographic information system(GIS). This is mainly due to the fact that an object in GIS is normally described by a series of discrete vertexes. Modeling uncertainty ob-jects should be therefore based on error of the composed vertexes. This type of model is normally complex and relatively difficult to imple-ment because of many unknown factors, such as the number of vertexes of a polygon, error nature of each individual vertex and error cor-relation among the vertexes. In this paper, a probabilistic paradigm for handling uncertain objects in GIS by randomized graph algebra ispresented. The theoretical basis for this paradigm is the randomized graph algebra-a probability theory for graph-which is newly pro-posed in this study. Osseointegration of implant provides a stable support for the prosthesis under functional *** timing of loading is a critical parameter that can govern the success of the osseointegration of ***,it is not clear whether the early loading can affect the success of osseointegration,or whether the no-loading healing period can be *** paper presents an animal study conducted to investigate how external loads influence the osseointegration at the initial stage of *** implants were inserted into the goat tibia laterally,and different axial loadings were applied to the im-plants in 4 weeks after *** the 2 weeks period of early loading,animals were sacrificed and the tibia bones with the implants were cut off from the *** mechanical test was employed to find out the differences in the pull-out force,and shear strength at the bone-implant interface between the non-loaded and the loaded *** implant-bone interfaces were analyzed by histomor-phometric method,SEM(scanning electron micrograph) and EDS(energy density spectrum).The re-sults indicated that the bone-implant interface did not well integrate 4 weeks after surgery,and the fi-brous tissue could be found at the interfaces of the specimens without *** the results of loaded specimens with 10 N axial force showed that that parts of the interface were well integrated,indicating that the early mild loading may play a positive role in the process of the *** results support that a certain range of external loading would influence the process of osseointe-gration,and appropriate mechanical loading can be applied to shorten the osseointegration period after surgery.
