Economic load dispatch (ELD) is an important optimization task in power systems. In the previous works, various researchers attempted to address this problem by both mathmatical and heuristic optimization algorithms. However, there are still two practically important issues that have not attracted sufficient attention: 1) the stability of these algorithms cannot be effectively ensured; 2) the performance of these algorithms on large scale ELD optimization tasks remains to be unsatisfactory. CLPSO is an effective global optimization algorithm. To strengthen the convergence ability of CLPSO, the sequential quadratic programming (SQP) is introduced into it. This results in a new algorithm hybrid of comprehensive learning particle swarm optimization and sequential quadratic programming (SQP-CLPSO). To assess the performance of SQP-CLPSO, it is compared with several state-of-the-art evolutionary algorithms (EAs) on the classical ELD optimization problems. Experimental results show that SQP-CLPSO has very good abilities of convergence, diversity maintainence and scalability, which make it suitable for complex ELD problems.

A rapidly solidified Al-2.5Ti-2.5Fe-2.5Cr (mass fraction in percent) alloywas prepared by melt spinning. As-quenched and as-annealed microstructures were studied by X-raydiffractometry (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electronmicroscopy (HREM) and energy dispersive spectrum (EDS) analysis. The microhardness of the alloy atdifferent annealing temperatures was measured. The results obtained indicate that the microhardnessof the rapidly solidified Al-2.5Ti-2.5Fe-2.5Cr alloy does not vary with different annealingtemperatures. The as-quenched microstructure of the alloy includes two kinds of dispersed primaryphases: Al_3Ti and Al_(13)(Cr, Fe)_2. After annealing at 400 deg C for 10 h, the stable phaseAl_(13)Fe_4 appears in the microstructure.

The theorems for testing the local in one-port cellular neural/inear network (CNN) cells with four local state variables are presented. Using the theorems computes the bifurcation diagrams of the cardiac Purkinje fiber (CPE) equations Which describethe long-lasting action and pace-maker potentials of the Purkinje fiber of the heart. The computer simulation shows that periodic trajectories or convergent trajectories of the CPF Equations can be foun if the cormsponing cell Parameters are located in a positive domainbut nearby edge of chaos. In particular a heart with approximate normal frequency of heartbeat but non-normal electrocardiogram maysuddenly stop by slightly perturbing the parameters of the corresponding CPF Equations when the Paramders are located nearby the edge of chaos in the bifurcation diagrams. This research seems to interpret reasonbly the phenomena that patients with cardiac diseases might suddenly die without warning.

In generalized linear models with fixed design, under the assumption λ↑_n→∞ and other regularity conditions, the asymptotic normality of maximum quasi-likelihood estimator ^↑βn, which is the root of the quasi-likelihood equation with natural link function ∑i=1^n Xi（yi -μ（Xi′β）） = 0, is obtained, where λ↑_n denotes the minimum eigenvalue of ∑i=1^nXiXi′, Xi are bounded p × q regressors, and yi are q × 1 responses.

By using the variational method and anneal simulation, we study in this paper the self-trapped magnetic polaron (STMP) in two-dimensional anti-ferromagnetic material and the bound magnetic polaron (BMP) in ferromagnetic material. Schwinger angular momentum theory is applied to changing the problem into a coupling problem of carriers and two types of Bosons. Our calculation shows that there are single-peak and multi-peak structures in the two-dimensional STMP. For the ferromagnetic material, the properties of the two-dimensional BMP are almost the same as that in one-dimensional case; but for the anti-ferromagnetic material, the two-dimensional STMP structure is much richer than the one-dimensional case.

The Gabor transform has long been recognized as a very useful tool for the joint time and frequency analysis in signal *** real time applications,however,were limited due to the high computational complexity of the Gabor transform *** this paper,some novel and fast parallel algorithms for the finite discrete Gabor expansion and transform are presented based on multirate *** analysis filter bank is designed for the finite discrete Gabor transform(DGT)and a synthesis filter bank is designed for the finite discrete Gabor expansion(DGE).Each of the parallel channels in the two filter banks has a unified structure and can apply the FFT and the IFFT to reduce its computational *** computational complexity of each parallel channel does not change as the oversampling rate *** fact,it is very low and depends only on the length of the input discrete signal and the number of the Gabor frequency sampling *** computational complexity of the proposed parallel algorithms is analyzed and compared with that of the major existing parallel algorithms for the finite DGT and *** results indicate that the proposed parallel algorithms for the finite DGT and DGE based on multirate filtering are very attractive for real time signal processing.

Neoproterozoic is a very important time in the history of the Earth, during which occurred supercontinent breakup, low-latitude glaciation, and biotic diversification. These concern a series of interdisciplinary studies involving ancient plate motion, climate change and life evolution, re-sulting in many forefront topics of general interest in the earth sciences. These include exact ages bracketing the Cryogenian System and glaciations, initial age and lasted duration of supercontinent breakup, dynamic reconstruction of china continents in supercontinental configurations, the nature of rift magmatism and extent of hydrothermal altera-tion, paleoclimatic implication of water-rock interaction and low-18O magmatism, and relationship between superconti-nental evolution and global change. A number of outstanding advances in the above aspects have being made by Chinese scientists, leaving many important issues to be resolved: (1) did the Cryogenian start at either 800 to 820 Ma or 760 to 780 Ma? (2) was South china in the supercontinental con-figuration located in either southeast to Australia or north to India? (3) are Paleoproterozoic to Archean ages of crustal rocks a valid parameter in distinguishing North china from South china? Available observations suggest that Neopro-terozoic mantle superwelling occurred as conspicuous mag-matism in South china but as cryptical magmatism in North china. Mid-Neoproterozoic mantle superplume event and its derived rift-magmatism would not only result in the supercontinental demise, but also play a very important role in the generation and evolution of the snowball Earth event by initiating the global glaciation, causing the local degla-ciation and terminating the snowball Earth event.
