A mammalian fossil from the Dingqing Formation in the Lunpola Basin,northern Tibet,and its relevance to age and paleo-altimetry

The distal extremity of a rhinocerotid humerus from the upper part of the Dingqing Formation at the Lunbori locality in Baingoin County,northern Tibet,is the first mammalian fossil found in Cenozoic deposits of the Lunpola *** medial condyle of the distal trochlea of the humerus specimen from Lunbori gradually contracts from medially to *** margin of the medial surface of the medial condyle is not prominent,the well-developed medial epicondyle strongly extends posteriorly,and is divided from the articular facet of the medial condyle by a groove;all of which are characteristic for the *** medial condyle is wide at the bottom and narrow at the *** medial collateral ligament fossa is relatively shallow,and the medial collateral ligament tubercle is very *** medial part of the upper margin of the medial condyle smoothly connects to the bony surface above,but there is no clear boundary between *** of these characteristics are identical with those of *** comparisons imply that the Lunbori specimen is closest to Plesiaceratherium gracile in the Shanwang Fauna from Linqu,Shandong Province,in size and ***,its age is suggested to be the late Early Miocene(Shanwangian Age),about 18-16 *** of the rhinocerotid fossil suggests that the upper part of the Dingqing Formation deposited in the *** adjusting to paleo-temperatures of the Early Miocene,a paleo-ecosystem reconstruction indicates that the paleo-elevation was close to 3000 m in the Lunpola Basin during this time.

目的制订“NICU患儿压力性损伤风险评估与预防指南”,为临床医护人员实施NICU患儿压力性损伤风险评估与预防提供指导和参考。方法参考“世界卫生组织指南制订手册”,根据系统的文献检索结果,针对确定的临床问题,采用“推荐等级的评估、制订与评价系统”评价相关证据和推荐意见,并参照“卫生保健实践指南的报告条目”撰写指南,根据专家评审结果和建议进行修改,形成正式指南。结果构建的指南涵盖压力性损伤风险评估和预防2个方面,涉及12个临床问题,共19条推荐意见。结论“NICU患儿压力性损伤风险评估与预防指南”是根据最佳证据、临床实际情况以及专业人员判断形成的循证指南,可为临床医护人员和管理者进行科学决策提供依据。

STUDY ON THE IMMOBILIZATION OF PAPAIN WITH A MACROPOROUS BEAD CARRIER OF COPOLYMER CONTAINING MONOMER UNITS OF NAMINOETHYL ACRYLAMIDE AND VINYL ALCOHOI

A kind of macroporous bead carrier of copolymer containing monomer units of N-aminoethyl acrylamide and vinylalcohol was synthesized, i.e. the MR-AA carrier. Papain was immobilized on the carrier using glutaraldehyde as the couplingagent. The enzymatic activity of the immobilized papain was compared with free papain using casein as a substrate, and theeffects of glutaraldehyde concentration, pH, temperature, time and papain amount added on the activity recovery were alsoinvestigated. The results show that the MR-AA carrier contains reactive primary amine groups, hydrophilic amido links andhydroxyl groups, as well as macroporous structures based on its matrix (MR-AV matrix), furthermore, the activity recoveryof papain in the immobilization could reach 48%/～58%. In comparison with free papain, the resulting immobilized papainexhibits a remarkable thermostability and better reusability.

Dusty cloud radiative forcing derived from satellite data for middle latitude regions of East Asia

The dusty cloud radiative forcing over the middle latitude regions of East Asia was estimated by using the 2-year (July 2002-June 2004) data of collocated clouds and the Earth's radiant energy system (CERES) scanner and moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) from Aqua Edition IB SSF (single scanner footprint). The dusty cloud is defined as the cloud in dust storm environment or dust contaminated clouds. For clouds growing in the presence of dust, the instantaneous short-wave (SW) forcing at the top of the atmosphere (TOA) is about - 275. 7 W/m for cloud over dust (COD) region. The clouds developing in no-dust cloud (CLD) regions yield the most negative short-wave (SW) forcing ( - 311.0 W/m2), which is about 12.8% stronger than those in COD regions. For long-wave (LW) radiative forcing, the no-dust cloud (CLD) is around 102.8 W/m2 , which is 20% less than the LW forcing from COD regions. The instantaneous TOA net radiative forcing for the CLD region is about - 208.2 W/m2, which is 42.1 % larger than the values of COD regions. The existence of dust aerosols under clouds significantly reduces the cooling effect of clouds.

儿童支气管肺泡灌洗术已成为儿童呼吸系统疾病诊治中的重要技术,为进一步规范儿童支气管肺泡灌洗术的临床应用,基于世界卫生组织指南制订手册和中国临床诊疗指南的制订/修订指导原则(2022版),中国医师协会儿童重症医师分会等机构联合制定了《中国儿童支气管肺泡灌洗术临床实践指南(2024)》。该指南形成30条针对儿童支气管肺泡灌洗术的推荐意见,以规范支气管肺泡灌洗术的操作流程。

Dynamic calculation model and seismic response for frame supporting structure with prestressed anchors

A dynamic calculation model of frame supporting structures with prestressed anchors for the slope stability is proposed. The frame and soil are closely contacted in the role of prestressed anchors and they cannot be separated along the whole slope. The lateral displacement of frame and soil is nearly in phase. The movement characteristic satisfies the theory of elastic foundation beam. The frame is treated with elastic foundation beam in this model. The influence of prestressed anchors is simplified as linear spring and damped system related with velocity. Under the condition of horizontal earthquake excitation, the equation of vibration response is established by using the model of dynamic Winkler beam and the analytical solutions are obtained for simple harmonic vibration. This method is applied to a case record for illustration of its capability, in order to verify the method, 3D nonlinear FEM (ADINA) is used to analyze the seismic performance of this case, the comparative results show that the design and the analysis are safe and credible by using the proposed method. The calculation model provides a new way for earthquake analysis and seismic design of slope stability supported by frame structure with prestressed anchors.

Mount Everest,the highest point on the Earth is often referred to as the earth's third pole as such the place is relatively inaccessible and little is known about its *** April 2005,an automatic weather station was installed at the mountain's North Col(6523 m a.s.l.).According to the observational 10-minute mean and daily records,the meteorological characteristics were analyzed. All the meteorological elements displayed obvious diurnal variations during May 1 to July 22,*** monthly variation of daily meteo- rological elements on Mount Everest coincided with that on Dingri,the closest routine meteorological station,with the high correlation co- efficients of 0.928,0.877,0.682,0.755,0.826 and 0.676(n=83,p<0.001)for mean temperature,minimum temperature,max- imum temperature,relative humidity,pressure and wind speed,***,the vertical mean gradient of temperature was above 0.6℃/100 m,especially for the daily maximum *** weather events on Mount Everest prominently appeared on the same day as those on Dingri,especially those from daily mean pressure,temperature and relative humidity with the cross-correlation coeffi- cients of 0.673,0.485 and 0.487(n=83,p<0.001),*** other weather events on Mount Everest lagged one-day be- hind those on ***,forecasting of the weather events on Mount Everest from pressure on Dingri was more reliable than those from the other meteorological *** conclusions are much important for research on meteorology and climate changes in the region.

Effects of Lead Exposure on Porphyrin Metabolism Indicators in Smelter Workers

A study on the dose-effect relationship between blood lead level and FEP, ZPP, CPU, and ALAU among 250 lead smelter workers was conducted. A nonlinear regression model of a dose-effect relationship between blood lead and porphyrin metabolism indicators was established. The upper limit of normal values of these indicators were estimated from blood lead levels by these nonlinear regression equations. The diagnostic significance was evaluated by multiregression and discriminant analysis. This study would be helpful to the decision-making policy in revising the current diagnostic criteria for occupational lead poisoning.

The interaction between lateral root system of woody plant and soil mass is similar to the one between shrub, herbage and soil mass, and has the effect of frictional reinforcement on slope soil. It plays an important role in reinforcing soil strength in shallow slope. Therefore, slope soil mass can be considered as a composite of soil and plant roots and the soil strength and stability of shallow slope soil mass are improved. However, current researches still remain on the level of qualitatively analyzing the relation between root and soil mass. In this paper, some exploratory researches on quantitative analysis of the interaction mechanism between root and soil mass are conducted. With the study of interaction between herbage root system (lateral root system of woody plants) and soil mass, the mechanical model of interaction between frictional root and soil mass is established. The accuracy of the model is verified by field experiments of Pinus Yunnanensis. The mechanical model provides a crucial theoretical guidance to quantitatively analyzing the interaction between plant root and soil mass; it also has certain values in application.

Interaction of Aluminum with Zinc and Copper and Its Effects on Pituitary-Testicular Axis: A Histological Study

To elucidate the interactions between aluminum and certain essential trace metals, an experiment was performed on rats fed diets with suboptimal or optimal levels of zinc or copper. Half of each group of animals were fed the same diet but with 1000 ppm aluminum added. Changes were noted after 120 days. Severe testicular damage was seen in rats fed either the low zinc or the low copper diet. The lesions included a wide range of spermatogenic cell degeneration and tubular atrophy. When aluminum was added to the diet, the testicular destruction of Zn-defi-cient rats was significantly reduced. This indicated that the presence of aluminum in the diet protected the testis against the damage caused by zinc deficiency. Pituitary glands were examined. Hypertrophy of basophiles was more pronounced in rats fed the suboptimal zinc or copper diet. When aluminum was added to their diet, the changes were reversed. The mechanisms by which aluminum protects male gonadal functions against Zn deficiency are discussed. This study is the first to demonstrate the preventive effect of aluminum against testicular damage caused by zinc deficiency. 1990 Academic Press. Inc.
