TOPS (terrain observation by progressive scans) is a recently proposed SAR mode for wide swath acquisition, which aims at achieving the same coverage and resolution as the SCAN mode besides creating scalloping-free images. In this paper, a general SAR imaging model used in TOPS and other SAR modes is introduced, where the antenna sweep rate, Doppler centroid rate, illumination time and azimuth resolution are described by a parameter defined as the "mode factor". After analyzing the characteristics of TOPS signal, an algorithm based on chirp-z transform is proposed, in which a new de-rotation function is used. Simulation results validate the proposed algorithm.

Early Hydration of Composite Cement with Thermal Activated Coal Gangue

Composite cement samples were prepared by mixing clinker, gypsum with burnt coal gangues which was calcined at various temperatures. The mechanical strength and Ca（OH）2 content in the cement paste were tested, and the paste composition and microstructure were analyzed by thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis （TG-DSC）, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electronic microscopy （SEM） and pore structure analysis. Results demonstrate that the thermal activated coal gangue could accelerate the early hydration of cement clinker obviously, which promotes the gangue hydration itself. The early hydrated products of the cement are C-S-H gel, Ca（OH）2 and AFt. The cement with 3.% （in mass） the gangue exhibits higher mechanical strength, and among all the cement samples the one with the gangue burnt at 700 ℃ displays the highest hydration rate, mechanical strength, the most gel pores and the lowest total porosity.

The organic/inorganic hybrid nanostructural vinylsilsesquioxanes (VSSO) were prepared from the hydrolytic condensation of vinyltrimethoxysilane (VMS). The proposed formu- las of VSSO were assigned with standard spectroscopic techniques, FTIR, NMR (1H, C and 13.29Si) and MALDI-TOF MS, and a generic formula of the SSO, Tn(OH)x(OR’)y(x, y = 0, 1, 2…; n = 1, 2…; T = RSiO1.5 ?(x+y)/2n). Geometric parameters (Si-O and Si-C bond lengths, Si-O-Si and O-Si-O bond angles) and total energies of the multi-structures of VSSO were calculated by a quantum mechanical investigation and molecular symmetries. According to the results of the calculation, most molecules had stabler ladder structures than the cage isomers, therefore, the most probably reasonable and optimum structure of the VSSO system was the ladder type.

When the initial frequencies and chirp rates of multi-component linear frequency modulation (LFM or chirp) signals are close,the signals may not be distinguished in the fractional Fourier domain (FRFD).Consequently,some signals cannot be *** this paper,first,the spectral distribution characteristics of a continuous LFM signal in the FRFD are analyzed,and then the spectral distribution characteristics of a LFM signal in the discrete FRFD are ***,the critical resolution distance between the peaks of two LFM signals in the FRFD is deduced,and the relationship between the dimensional normalization parameter and the distance between two LFM signals in the FRFD is also *** is discovered that selecting a proper dimensional normalization parameter can increase the ***,a method to select the parameter is proposed,which can improve the resolution ability of the fractional Fourier transform (FRFT).Its effectiveness is verified by simulation results.

Land surface process is of great importance in global climate change, moisture and heat exchange in the interface of the earth and atmosphere, human impacts on the environment and eco- system, etc. Soil freeze/thaw plays an important role in cold land surface processes. In this work the diurnal freeze/thaw effects on energy partition in the context of GAME/Tibet are studied. A sophisti- cated land surface model is developed, the particular aspect of which is its physical consideration of soil freeze/thaw and vapor flux. The simultaneous water and heat transfer soil sub-model not only reflects the water flow from unfrozen zone to frozen fringe in freezing/thawing soil, but also demon- strates the change of moisture and temperature field induced by vapor flux from high temperature zone to low temperature zone, which makes the model applicable for various circumstances. The modified Picard numerical method is employed to help with the water balance and convergence of the numerical scheme. Finally, the model is applied to analyze the diurnal energy and water cycle char- acteristics over the Tibetan Plateau using the Game/Tibet datasets observed in May and July of 1998. Heat and energy transfer simulation shows that: (i) There exists a negative feedback mechanism between soil freeze/thaw and soil temperature/ground heat flux; (ii) during freezing period all three heat fluxes do not vary apparently, in spite of the fact that the negative soil temperature is higher than that not considering soil freeze; (iii) during thawing period, ground heat flux increases, and sensible heat flux decreases, but latent heat flux does not change much; and (iv) during freezing period, soil temperature decreases, though ground heat flux increases.

The asymptotic waveform evaluation （AWE） technique is a rational function approximation method in computational mathemetics, which is used in many appllcations in computational electromagnetlca. In this paper, the performance of the AWE technique in conjunction with hybrid finite element/boundary integral （FE/BI） method is firstly Inveetlgeted. The formuletlon of the AWE applied in hybrid FE/BI method is given in detail. The characteristic implementation of the application of the AWE to the hybrid FE/BI method is discussed. Numarlcel results demonstrate that the AWE technique can greatly speed up the hybrid FE/BI method to acquire wide-band and wide-angle backecatter radar-cross-section （RCS） by complex targets.

We propose a spiral-shaped piezoelectric bimorph power harvester operating with coupled flexural and extensional vibration modes for applications to low frequency energy sources. A theoretical analysis is performed and the computational results show that the spiral structure has relatively low operating frequency compared to beam power harvesters of the same size. It is found that to optimize the performance of a piezoelectric spiral-shaped harvester careful design is needed.

Wavelet analysis has applications in many ar- eas, such as signal analysis and image processing. We pro- pose a method for generating the complete circuit of Haar wavelet based MRA by factoring butterfly matrices and con- ditional perfect shuffle permutation matrices. The factoriza- tion of butterfly matrices is the essential part of the design. As a result, it is the key point to obtain the circuits of I 2t ⊕ W ⊕ I 2n ? 2t ?2. In this paper, we use a simple means to de- velop quantum circuits for this kind of matrices. Similarly, the conditional permutation matrix is implemented entirely, combined with the scheme of Fijany and Williams. The cir- cuits and the ideas adopted in the design are simple and in- telligible.

We show that the quantum-mechanical fundamental representations, say, the coordinate representation, the coherent state representation, the Fan-Klauder entangled state representation can be recast into s-ordering operator expansion, which is elegant in form and has many applications in deriving new operator identities. This demonstrates that Dirac's symbolic method can be merged into Newton-Leibniz integration theory in a broad way.
