This paper presents comparative studies among three DC-DC-AC combined converters for integrated starter generator (ISG) applications. The necessity of using DC-DC-AC combined converter to achieve optimal performance of an ISG system is explained. Analysis and computer simulation of the three DC-DC-AC candidates is conducted to illustrate their respective advantages and disadvantages.

This paper studies delay-induced quasi-consensus in multi-agent dynamical systems.A linear consensus protocol in second-order dynamics is designed where both the current and delayed position information is *** time delay,in a common perspective,can induce periodic oscillations or even chaos to dynamical ***,it is surprisingly found in this paper that quasi-consensus in a multi-agent system cannot be reached without the delayed position information under the given protocol while it can be achieved with a relatively small time delay by appropriately choosing the coupling strength.A necessary and sufficient condition for reaching quasi-consensus in multi-agent dynamical systems is then *** is further shown that quasi-consensus can be achieved if and only if the time delay is less than a critical value which depends on the coupling strengths and the largest eigenvalue of the Laplacian matrix of the ***,a simulation example is given to illustrate the theoretical analysis.

Wireless Mesh Network （WMN） has been recognized as one of the promising technologies to provide wireless broadband *** addition to the multi-radio multi-channel network architecture often seen in WMNs,employment of directional antennas on each mesh node could further improve the system throughput via alleviating the interference between nearby nodes thus allowing more concurrent transmissions in the *** this paper,we describe a novel algorithm to produce joint decisions on routing and channel assignment with practical implementation considerations for WMNs with directional *** particular,we formulate this joint optimization problem as a mixed Integer Programming （miP） problem with all practical considerations modeled explicitly as miP *** example,our scheme only considers dual-path routes and oneto-one association between access points and gateway nodes,so as to facilitate its deployment with commercial wireless networking devices such as IEEE 802.11 compliant *** objective is to maximize the aggregate system throughput and to provide fair and satisfactory services to all access *** results show that our scheme （i.e.,the solution to the miP problem） fully exploits the multi-radio multi-channel network architecture and directional antennas in WMNs,and is able to achieve the design objectives with significantly reduced implementation complexity.

A neuromorphic continuous-time state space pole assignment adaptive controller is proposed, which is particularlyappropriate for controlling a large-scale time-variant state-space model due to the parallely distributed nature ofneurocomputing. In our approach, Hopfield neural network is exploited to identify the parameters of a continuous-timestate-space model, and a dedicated recurrent neural network is designed to compute pole placement feedback control law inreal time. Thus the identification and the control computation are incorporated in the closed-loop, adaptive, real-timecontrol system. The merit of this approach is that the neural networks converge to their solutions very quickly andsimultaneously.

The multiple instance regression problem has become a hot research topic recently. There are several approaches to the multiple instance regression problem, such as Salience, Citation KNN, and mi-ClusterRegress. All of these solutions work in batch mode during the training step. However, in practice, examples usually arrive in sequence. Therefore, the training step cannot be accomplished once. In this paper, an online multiple instance regression method ＂OnlinemiR＂ is proposed. OnlinemiR can not only predict the label of a new bag, but also update the current regression model with the latest arrived bag. The experimental results show that OnlinemiR achieves good performances on both synthetic and real data sets.

This research addresses a new cross-training policy to increase labors’ job satisfaction and decrease tasks’ labor cost. The cross-training plan is about how to decide which labors should be cross-trained on which tasks. A multiobjective 0-1 integer programming model is formulated for the cross-training policy. The first objective seeks to maximize average satisfaction degree （ASD）, and the second objective seeks to minimize average paid salary （APS）. The mathematical model is solved with particle swarm optimization algorithm （PSO）. And a series of computational experiments are proceeded to analyze the factors impacting on the performance of the cross-training plan. The results indicate that with regards to ASD, the balanced preference structure is better than the extreme one, and with regards to APS, the nonuniform salary structure is better than the uniform one. Those insights will help practioners to make correct decisions.
