Although the aggregated amyloid b-protein (Ab) in senile plaques is one of the key neuropathological features of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), soluble forms of Ab also interfere with synaptic plasticity at the early stage of AD. The suppressive action of acute application of Ab on hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) has been reported widely, whereas the mechanism underlying the effects of Ab is still mostly unknown. The present study, using the whole-cell patch clamp technique, investigated the effects of Ab fragments (Ab25–35 and Ab31–35) on the LTP induction-related postsynaptic ligand-gated channel currents in isolated hippocampal CA1 neurons. The results showed a rapid but opposite action of both peptides on excitatory and inhibitory receptor currents. Glutamate application-induced currents weresuppressed by Ab25–35in a dose-dependent manner,andfurtherN-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)receptor-mediated currents were selectively inhibited. In contrast, pretreatment with Ab fragments potentiated c-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-induced whole-cell currents. As a control, Ab35–31, the reversed sequence of Ab31–35, showed no effect on the currents induced by glutamate, NMDA or GABA. These results may partly explain the impaired effects of Ab on hippocampal LTP, and suggest that the functional down-regulation of NMDA receptors and up-regulation of GABAA receptors may play an important role in remodeling the hippocampal synaptic plasticity in early AD.

Nowadays,identification,dynamical analysis,control and synchronization of fractional dynamical systems have become a focus topic in the nonlinear research *** always us a linear time invariant transfer function（LTI）to approximate the fractional transfer function in related numerical investigationand then put their results into circuits designing,signal processing,*** this paper,we further carry out the investigation on the reliability of existed methods on this ***,we discussed the serious topic via case study on the newly proposed Liu chaotic system and its commensurate fractional *** research reveals that,the most widely used Charef and Oustaloup methods may cause fake chaotic or fake periodic phenomena under some wrong ***’s to say,the traditional frequency method may be invalid under some ***,it is suggested that the modified Oustaloup method can improve the reliability of the traditional frequency LTI method,since the modified method behaves much better on the left and right boundary of a related interval of *** using such a new method,possible cases of fake complex phenomena caused by traditional LTI methods might be avoided ***,it is also addressed that the ADM predictor-corrector scheme may also cause fake complex behaviors while using unsuitable length of iteration step by taking the hyper-chaotic system as ***,it is suggested that,the modified frequency approximate method is more suitable for numerical analysis for the case which is far from the transient state boundary between order and *** using the ADM predictor-corrector scheme,smaller iteration step should be used for avoiding fake *** analysis further confirmed our analysis.

＜正＞In order to estimate the state of urban traffic flow,a Probe-Vehicle-Tracking based method is proposed in this paper. The method collects traffic flow data with Global Positioning System（GPS）-equipped taxies,which are taken as the probe ***,the A* heuristic search algorithm is employed to judge the optimal vehicle tracking *** addition,the average velocities of road links are calculated by considering the velocities of vehicle tracks as well as their corresponding credibility ***,an experiment with massive real-world traffic data in the surface road network of Shanghai was carried out,and the ground truth of the average velocity was obtained by repeating the videos shot on the 24 links in Shanghai *** experiment results verify that the method has high accuracy and can be applied in engineering practice.

Start-up of ISFR to Treat Rural Domestic Wastewater

The start-up feasibility of ISFR to treat rural domestic wastewater and the removal efficiency of CODCr, TP and TN are investigated. The results indicate that the start-up of ISFR lasts for 32d. When hydraulic retention time is 12h and volume loading is 0.54kgCODCr / (m3 d), effluent CODCr is below 50mg/L and can meet the first degree A discharge standards in Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB18918-2002). But the removal efficiency of TN is only 10%0%, and that of TP is 20%0%. The pH values of mixed liquor is on the rise along the processing units. As the ISFR start-up is finished, the biofilm cultured in the processing units is in good conditions.

Estimation of the state variables of nonlinear systems is one of the fundamental and significant problems in control and signal processing. A new extended Kalman filtering approach for a class of nonlinear discrete-time systems in engineering is presented in this paper. In contrast to the celebrated extended Kalman filter (EKF), there is no linearization operation in the design procedure of the filter, and the parameters of the filter are obtained through minimizing a proper upper bound of the mean-square estimation error. Simulation results show that this filter can provide higher estimation precision than that provided by the EKF.

A series of novel type temperature and pH responsive hydrogels were synthesized by using hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) as temperature sensitivity material, sodium alginate (SA) as pH sensitivity material. The effect of SA on lower critical solution temperature (LCST) has been studied and the influence mechanism is presented. In addition, the swelling ratio and control factors of swelling process are all researched in this paper. The main results obtained are as follows: the LCST of HPC/SA hydrogel decreased gradually as SA was added into HPC;this kind of hydrogel responded temperature and pH double-sensitive;the swelling ratio reached the maximum value at pH of 6.
