Experimental study on upward bubble velocity and pierce length distributions in a water model of co.per co.verter

The upward bubble velocity and the pierce length distributions in a sectionalwater model of the co.per co.verter in Guixi Smelter in Jiangxi, china, were measured using atwo-co.tact electro-resistivity probe. In the case of using a single tuyere, the bubble velocitydistribution along longitudinal direction was similar to that derived from Guassian function. Beyondthe center of the longitudinal range, the bubble pierce length exhibited a sudden increase. Theupward bubble velocity at a specified location co.ld go up to meters per seco.d. Its probability ata fixed location obeys a lognormal function; the bubble pierce length there varies bellow a fewcentimeters. In the case of using multi-tuyeres, the upward bubble velocity was roughly uniformright above the tuyeres and showed a slow decrease beyond this region. The bubble pierce lengthwithin both of these two regions was roughly uniform. Its average value in the former region,however, was found to he somewhat lower than that in the later.

To solve the problem of low power efficiency of power amplifiers (PA) in the high peak-to-averagepower ratio (PAPR) co.munication system, a novel signal deco.posed amplifier structure has been proposed in order to decrease the energy co.sumption and increase the power efficiency of PA. The high PAPR signal can be deco.posed into several low PAPR branch signals, linearized and amplified in parallel. This structure can reduce the PAPR of branch signals and improve the power efficiency of PA. The simulation results indicate that the power efficiency will be remarkably increased.

The co.per co.tents and its existing forms in the slags during the slag-making stage of Peirce-Smith co.verters in Guixi Smelter, Jiangxi Province, china have been investigated. The investigation was based on plant trials with the co.responding thermodynamic calculations and kinetic co.siderations. From the plant data, the total co.per co.tent in the slags was in the range of 2% to 8% (mass fraction). The mechanical entrainment of matte drops has been found to be the main cause of the co.per loss. The suspension index, defined as the ratio of the mass fraction of co.per in suspended matte drops in the slag to that in bulk of the matte phase, has been adopted to quantify the matte entrainment. The values of this parameter estimated in this work have been found mainly within a range of 2.5%-8.0%. The Fe3O4 co.tent in the slag has been estimated to be the most important factor, among others, influencing the separation of slag with matte and, co.sequently, the co.per loss from the slag.

Silica is the major co.ponent of the acid leaching residue of asbestos tailing. The waterglass solution can be prepared by the reaction of the residue with sodium hydroxide aqueous solution. co.pared to the high temperature reaction method, this process is environmental friendly and low co.t. In this paper, the reaction process of the residue and the sodium hydroxide aqueous solution is optimized. The optimum reaction process parameters are as follows: the usage of sodium hydroxide is 26.4 g/100 g acid leaching residue, the reaction temperature is 90℃, the reaction time is 1 h, and the ratio of the liquid/solid is 2.0. The significance sequence of the process parameters to the alkali leaching reaction effect is the usage of sodium hydroxide > the ratio of the liquid/solid > the reaction time > the reaction temperature. The significance sequence to the leaching ratio of SiO2 is the ratio of the liquid/solid > the usage of sodium hydroxide > the reaction time > the reaction temperature. The significance sequence to the modulus of the sodium silicate is the ratio of the liquid/solid > the usage of sodium hydroxide > the reaction time > the reaction temperature. Under the optimum co.ditions, the leaching ratio of the SiO2 is 77.5%, and the modulus of the sodium silicate is 3.15. The XRD analysis result indicates that the major co.ponents of the alkali leaching residue are serpentine, talc, quartz and some albite.

The as-cast Mg-10Ni-2Mm(mole fraction,%)alloy was prepared by a simple and low-co.t two-step method of pre-alloying and vacuum induction *** nanocrystalline alloy was obtained by the melt-spun process with the surface velocity of co.per wheel of 10.5 m/*** hydrogen storage properties were examined by PCT *** enthalpy(ΔH)and entropy(ΔS)of the alloy determined by van’t Hoff plots indicate that the thermodynamic performance of the nanocrystalline alloy is improved by fast diffusion ability of hydrogen in the nanocrystalline microstructure embedding nano-particles of intermetallics co.pounds Mg2Ni and *** reaction kinetics of the melt-spun alloy is greatly improved due to short diffusion path of hydrogen in the nanocrystalline microstructure,resulting in better overall hydrogen storage *** hydrogen storage capacity is 5.09%(mass fraction,hereinafter the same),and the amount of hydrogen desorption is 4.86%.The hydrogen desorption rate of 95.5%in the alloy is available.

Based on experimental data, the mathematical model of rolling force parameters of 3-roll mills was studied. The structure ofthe model was theoretically set up and the co.fficients were determined by static analysis of the data. The effect of co.ling rate and austenitizing co.dition on the mechanical properties of high carbon steel (SWRH82B) has beeninvestigated. Specimens were made of high carbon steel rod and heat-treated by Gleeble-2000 to produce a wide variation in prior austenite size. Different co.ling rates were carried out, and then pearlite interlaminar spacing and mechanical properties were measured andtested respectively. Acco.ding to the results, it co.ld be found that under the co.tinuous co.ling with the increase of co.ling rate, tensilestrength greatly increases and reduction in area exhibits a slightly increase for an equivalent value of prior austenite grain size. Whenprior austenite size increases, reduction in area decreases, and tensile strength increases slightly for an equivalent value of pearlite interlaminar spacing. It is co.cluded that prior austenite size primarily co.trols ductility and pearlite interlaminar spacing co.trols tensilestrength. Mathematical formulae are given for these relations.
