This article presents an existential reading of the famous Four-Seven Debate （Siqi Lunzheng 四七论争）. In particular, it approaches the Debate with specific attention to the ways in which it isolated and problematized the human individual situation in communal life. It attempts to analyze the diverse perspectives that were brought into the Debate, and to demonstrate that there was a sophisticated system, with many variations and movements, that informed Korean understandings of how to manage emotions as within the context of sage learning （shengxue 圣学）. This study also seeks to uncover the underlying therapeutic measures for treating wayward emotions that were an underlying component at play in all of the important contributions made throughout the many twists and turns within the Debate.

Various models have been proposed in the literature to study non-negative integer-valued time series. In this paper, we study estimators for the generalized Poisson autoregressive process of order 1, a model developed by Alzaid and Al-Osh [1]. We compare three estimation methods, the methods of moments, quasi-likelihood and conditional maximum likelihood and study their asymptotic properties. To compare the bias of the estimators in small samples, we perform a simulation study for various parameter values. Using the theory of estimating equations, we obtain expressions for the variance-covariance matrices of those three estimators, and we compare their asymptotic efficiency. Finally, we apply the methods derived in the paper to a real time series.

Background: Acanthosis nigricans is a well known cause of facial melanosis in Iraqi males and usually it is a part of ordinary acanthosis nigricans. It is commonly associated with many metabolic derangements. Objectives: To evaluate cases of acanthosis nigricans of the face for all metabolic disturbances including fasting blood sugar, fasting serum insulin, total cholesterol, triglyceride, growth hormone and serum leptin. Patients and Methods: Twenty seven cases of acanthosis nigricans of the face were included in this case descriptive, clinical and biochemical study. This was conducted in Department of Dermatology-Baghdad Teaching Hospital and Department of Clinical Biochemistry, College of Medicine, Baghdad, Iraq during the period from November 2012-August 2014. It consisted of 26 males and one female, their ages ranged from 16 - 58 (39 ± 4.9) years. The diagnosis was established by clinical and histopathological evaluation. Sharquie’s ANSI scoring of acanthosis nigricans of face was carried out for all patients, also body mass index was assessed. Biochemical evaluation was carried out for all patients including total cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting blood sugar and insulin, insulin resistance, growth hormone and leptin enzyme immunoassay. Twenty seven healthy control non obese individuals with comparable ages and gender were assessed for all tests. Results: Biochemical results showed that fasting blood glucose, fasting serum insulin, insulin resistance, fasting serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, growth hormone and serum leptin were statistically significantly high in patients with acanthosis nigricans of the face in comparison with control individuals and all were positively correlated with the scoring of acanthosis nigricans of the face apart from high density lipoprotein was negatively correlated. Conclusion: Acanthosis nigricans of the face is a good marker for the associated metabolic diseases and these metabolic changes were statistically significantly

Clinical translation of neuro-regenerative medicine in India: A study on barriers and enabling strategies

We present the findings of a study of barriers and enabling strategies to clinical translation of Neuro-Regenerative Medicine (Neuro-RM) technologies in India. Twenty-three people were included in this qualitative study, including researchers, clinicians, firm representatives and policy makers working in Neuro-RM. The study has identified barriers that may arise at each stage of translation and how these are being addressed. Understanding of the molecular and cellular basis of Neuro-RM is being supported through government investment in existing neuroscience centres and the creation of new centres with regenerative medicine expertise. Clinical trials benefit from the support of clinicians who partner with researchers in study design and data collection. Government agencies have developed guidelines to inform best practices in preclinical and clinical studies. Addressing the barriers to Neuro-RM translation identified in this study can be achieved through continued support for capacity building and priority setting in preclinical studies, international efforts to achieve clinical trial protocol standardization, and multidisciplinary collaborations between clinicians, researchers, government and industry.

Erythrocyte Toxicities of Imidazolidinyl Urea and Diazolidinyl Urea

The addition of antimicrobial preservatives to pharmaceutical and cosmetic products is necessary to prevent microbial growth. However, the use of preservatives can also produce other undesirable effects. For several years, researchers have been investigating the use of alternative methods in safety assessment of cosmetic ingredients and formulations by means of variety methods. The aim of this study was to evaluate the erythrocyte toxicities of two commercial preservatives: imidazolidinyl urea and diazolidinyl urea. Relatively few studies about the cytotoxicity of these preservative are available. The determination of their cytotoxicity is an essential step to warrant their safe use. Erythrocyte toxicities were evaluated by assessment of the amount of hemoglobin released by red blood cells after their lysis. In this study, both imidazolidinyl urea and diazolidinyl urea showed cytotoxic activity against red blood cells. The imidazolidinyl urea induce a small release of hemoglobin after 120 min of incubation. But, the diazolidinyl urea induce a massive release of hemoglobin from the imidazolidinyl urea (a rate of 83% at concentrations of 6.25 mg/mL and 12.5 mg/mL).
