Background and aims: Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) is associated with high incidence of bacterial infection (BI) and substantial short-term mortality. The chronic liver failure Consortium (CLIF-C) ACLF score, based on CLIF-C Organ Failure score (CLIF-C OFs) and white blood cell count (WBC), was developed to improve severity classification and 28-day survival prediction in ACLF patients. Using the composite score, however, is often inconvenient for physicians in primary patient management.
