Acupuncture treatment for improving anxiety status in patients with primary insomnia:a systematic review and meta-analysis

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of anxiety state in patients with primary insomnia(PI).Methods:Randomized controlled trials of acupuncture treatment for PI patients with an anxiety state in Web of Science,Cochrane Library,PubMed,Excerpta Medica Database(EMBASE),China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform(Wanfang),and Chongqing VIP Database(VIP)were retrieved by *** retrieval time was from each database’s inception to December 30,*** extraction and evaluation were performed for the included *** Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool was used to assess the risk of bias in each ***-analysis of valid data was performed using the RevMan 5.4 *** the outcome indicator was a categorical variable,relative risk(RR)was used as the effect *** it was a continuous variable,mean difference(MD)was used to calculate the effect *** effect size was expressed as a 95%confidence interval(CI).P<0.05 was considered to indicate a statistically significant ***:A total of 18 studies were included,comprising a total of 1198 *** findings of the meta-analysis showed that electroacupuncture had a significant advantage in improving the Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)score than benzodiazepines[MD=-1.61,95%CI(-2.17,-1.06),P<0.001].Acupuncture was superior to sham acupuncture[MD=-14.90,95%CI(-20.39,-9.41),P<0.001]and benzodiazepines[MD=-3.39,95%CI(-4.67,-2.12),P<0.001]in reducing the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)*** was superior to sham acupuncture in reducing the insomnia severity index(ISI)score[MD=-5.61,95%CI(-6.63,-4.89),P<0.001].Acupuncture was superior to benzodiazepines[MD=0.84,95%CI(-1.42,-0.25),P=0.005]and sham acupuncture[MD=-8.39,95%CI(-8.39,-7.86),P<0.001]in improving the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)*** had a better effective rate than benzodiazepines[RR=1.16,95%CI(1.08,1.25),P<0.001]and sham acupu

Study on the body surface temperature variation patterns of the meridian acupoints related to the physiological status of the uterus

Research on the body surface resistance imbalance degree at yuan-source points of three yin meridians of foot in the patients with primary dysmenorrhea

Objective:To explore whether or not the changes in body surface resistance at yuan-source points of three yin meridians of foot can specifically responds the onset of primary dysmenorrhea(PD) in females of menstrual period and the before and after,so as to provide the evidence for acupoint selection in ***:A total of 90 cases of PD were recruited in a PD group and 90 healthy female undergraduates were recruited in a normal *** yuan-source of points of three yin meridians of foot were selected,***(太白SP3),Taichong(太冲LR3) and Taixi(太溪KI3).The acupoints for control were Xuehai(血海SP10),the non-special acupoint,Xuanzhong(悬钟GB39),the acupoint not on the relevant meridian,as well as a non-meridian ***,before menstruation,on Day 1 during menstruation and on Day 3 after menstruation,the body surface resistance at the above-mentioned test sites was detected in the participants of two groups each *** resistance imbalance degree(RID) of the bilateral acupoints was taken as the outcome *** observation lasted one menstrual ***:(1) Intra-group comparison:at LR3,the RID was lower on Day 1 during menstruation than that before menstruation significantly in the normal group(P ≤0.05).There was no significant change in RID at the same time points,but RID on Day 3 after menstruation was lower significantly than that before menstruation in the PD group(P ≤0.05).At SP3,KI3,SP10,GB39 and sham acupoint,there were no significant differences in RID among different time points within the same group(all P> 0.05).(2) Intergroup comparison:there were no significant differences in RID among different time points at the same point.(all P> 0.05).Conclusion:RID at yuan-source points of three yin meridians of foot cannot specifically respond to ***,at LR3,before and after menstruation,RID changes are different between PD patients and healthy female undergraduates,which needs a further study in the future.

Treatment of acne vulgaris with auricular acupoint pricking-bloodletting plus auricular point sticking therapy: a randomized controlled study

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of auricular point pricking-bloodletting plus auricular point sticking therapy for acne vulgaris. Methods: A total of 66 patients with acne vulgaris were randomized into an observation group and a control group by the random number table, with 33 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with auricular point pricking-bloodletting plus auricular point sticking therapy, and the control group was treated only with auricular point sticking therapy. The treatments of both groups were performed twice a week, 4 weeks as a course of treatment, for 3 courses in total. The scores of skin lesions and dermatology life quality index (DLQI) scores were recorded before and after treatment to assess the clinical efficacy. Results: During the trial, there were 3 cases of drop-out both in the observation group and the control group. After 3 courses of treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 96.7%, while that of the control group was 76.7%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). The intra-group comparison showed that the scores of skin lesion and DLQI were both decreased with the increase of treatment times, that was, the scores were lower than those at the previous time point (allP<0.05). After 1, 2, and 3 courses of treatment, the scores of skin lesion and DLQI of both groups were statistically different from those of the same group before treatment (allP<0.05). At every time point during the treatment, the scores of skin lesion and DLQI of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Auricular point pricking-bloodletting plus auricular point sticking has a better curative effect than auricular point sticking therapy alone in the treatment of acne vulgaris, and has a time-effect correlation.

Generalized pustulous psoriasis is characterized by the sudden onset of diffuse erythema, with a scattering of pustules, sometimes with fever and others symptoms. It is a relatively rare disease^1. The treatment of traditional western medicine have various adverse drug reactions and easy to recur. Meanwhile, this report describes a 12-year-old female patient of generalized pustulous psoriasis with a satisfactory effect of traditional Chinese medicine.

目的比较电针三阴交、悬钟、非穴对原发性痛经患者的累积镇痛效应差异。方法采用多中心随机对照的研究方法,将北京中医药大学附属东直门医院、中日友好医院、首都医科大学附属北京中医医院、天津中医药大学第一附属医院、北京中医药大学附属护国寺中医医院、山东中医药大学门诊的原发性痛经患者501例,随机分成三阴交组、悬钟组、非穴组,每组167例。在患者痛经开始发作并且疼痛视觉模拟评分(visual analogue scale,VAS)≥40 mm时进行电针治疗,频率2/100Hz,强度以患者能够耐受为度,每次30 min,每日1次,连续治疗3 d。分别在第1次治疗前、第1次起针后30 min及第2、3次治疗前以VAS测量疼痛程度。同时分别在第1次治疗前、第1次起针即刻及第2、3次治疗前记录患者的痛经总体伴随症状严重程度(retrospective symptom scale,RSS-COX2总分)。结果三阴交组VAS值降低程度显著大于悬钟组及非穴组(MD=﹣2.92 mm,P=0.028;MD=﹣3.47 mm,P=0.009),悬钟组与非穴组比较差异无统计学意义(MD=﹣0.56 mm,P=0.674);3组RSS-COX2总分组间比较差异无统计学意义(P=0.086)。结论三阴交穴对原发性痛经患者的累积镇痛效应优于悬钟穴、非穴,悬钟穴与非穴累积镇痛效应无差异。

Effect of Electroacupuncture on Metabolism of Lipids in Rats of Obesity Induced by Sodium Glutamate （Abstract）

Objective： To explore mechanisms of acupuncture for reducing of body weight. Methods： The rat obesity model was developed by subcutaneous injection of sodium glutamate solution, and the experimental rats were divided into a blank control group, a model group, an electroacupuncture group and a sibutramine group; blood TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C contents and lipoprotein lipase （LPL） activity, and serum leptin and insulin levels were deter mined. Results： The body weight and Lee＇s index, and TG, TC and LDL-C contents in the electroacupuncture group decreased significantly as compared with those in the model group （all P〈 0.01）, the actions in the electroacupuncture group being superior to those in the sibutramine group; the HDL-C contents in both the electroacupuncture and the sibutramine groups were higher than that of the model group （P〈 0.01） with no significant difference between the electroacupuncture group and the sibutramine group; LPL activity in the electroacupuncture group in creased significantly as compared with that in the model group （P〈 0.01）; serum leptin and insulin levels in both the electroacupuncture group and the sibutramine group were lower than that in the moder group （P 〈 0.05, P 〈 0.01）, with no significant difference between the electroacupuncture group and the sibutramine group in the effect on insulin content, and the decresse of leptin level in the electroacupuncture group was more as compared with the sibutramine group （P〈0.01）. Conclusion. Electroacupuncture can improve the status of high blood lipids, increase lipoprotein lipase activity, and regulate serum leptin and insulin levels in the obese rat.
