Differential and integral equations have a major role in many applied areas of science and engineering,For example,physics,chemistry,astronomy,biology,mechanics,electronic,economics,potential theory,electrostatics.So,the obtaining of solutions of these equations is important.Since the mentioned equations are usually difficult to solve analytically,numerical methods are required.Therefore,this Special Issue contributes to new numerical methods for solving the above-mentioned equations and thus,many problems in science and engineering can be solved using new numerical methods analyzed in this special issue.

Background: Central lymph node dissection (CLND) for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) allows correct pathologic staging of lymph nodes and planning of postoperative management. The purpose of this study was to determine the number of the lymph nodes in the CLND and the relationship to presence of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis (CLT) and thymic tissue (TT). Methods: Total thyroidectomy and CLND materials from 153 patients with PTC were included in this study. Two histopathologic features (presence of CLT and TT) were evaluated for their value in adequacy of CLND. Results: Histopathologic examination revealed CLT and TT in CLND materials in 70 (46%) and 63 (41%) patients, respectively. Total number of lymph nodes in CLND materials was significantly higher in CLT (+) and TT (+) groups (p Conclusions: Our study demonstrates that presence of CLT in thyroid gland has been associated with higher number of central lymph nodes mainly due to increased number of benign hyperplastic lymph nodes. It may be possible to conclude that upper limit of lymph nodes for satisfactory CLND would be higher to correctly evaluate central lymph node status in existing staging systems if specimens have CLT. Results of this study also show that the presence of TT in surgical materials may represent the adequacy of CLND.

The built environment has a great impact on the quality of urban climate,a comfortable living environment,overheating,and detection of changes in Urban Heat Islands(UHI).Despite the effects that raised outdoor temperatures have on human well-being and health,being in open outdoor spaces is strongly encouraged.This article deals with open green urban areas.The study was focused on searching for the relationships between the various elements,such us outdoor thermal comfort,the urban heat island,green areas,and active leisure time.The well-being in open spaces has be studied on the case of The Path of Remembrance and Comradeship(PATH)in the city of Ljubljana,Slovenia.PATH is a circular recreation ground(almost 33 km long)and passes from the urban to the natural landscape area.PATH constitutes an important element of the urban space and confirms the identity and image of Ljubljana.It is most popular for walking and jogging.Overheating at the PATH was studied using multiple indicators,which were broken down into detail at five sites with different urban morphology,green areas,water,and paved areas.

Patterns in the relationship between acute COVID-19/long COVID-19 and quality of life:A cross-sectional study of patients attending a tertiary care hospital in Turkey

Objective:To determine the change in the quality of life(QoL)of patients who applied to a tertiary outpatient clinic according to their COVID-19 status.Methods:This cross-sectional study comprised 1370 participants.Short form-12(SF-12),which includes Physical Component Summary(PCS)and Mental Component Summary(MCS)domains,was used to evaluate the QoL.Different linear regression models created using PCS-12 and MCS-12 were dependent variables.Results:A total of 19.2% of participants had acute COVID-19,and 8.4%had long COVID-19.The most common sypmtoms were fatigue(72.6%),headache(42.5%),and joint pain(39.8%)in patients with long COVID-19.The model including all participants showed that long COVID-19 reduced the QoL in multivariate analysis for both MCS and PCS,while acute COVID-19 had no significant effect on the QoL comparing with those without COVID-19.Model that included participants with COVID-19 showed that long COVID-19 negatively affected the QoL in the multivariate model for PCS-12 and MCS-12.Variables that were significant in the multivariate model for those who had long COVID-19 were having a chronic disease and presence of ongoing symptoms.Females were disadvantaged for PCS-12 and MCS-12 in the multivariate models including all participants,and models including participants who have had COVID-19.Low educational group were disadvantaged for PCS-12 in the multivariate model including all participants.This group were also disadvantaged for PCS-12 and MCS-12 in the multivariate models including participants who had COVID-19.Conclusions:In studies,acute COVID-19 and long COVID-19 should be treated as separate categories.The effects of long COVID-19 should be considered when providing and planning health services.The effect of gender,and education,on QoL shows that health inequalities continue to be effective during the pandemic period.
