Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an irreversible decline in the glomerular filtration due to nephrosclerosis and glomerular loss. Rat remnant kidney model enables to assess the benefits of different treatment possibilities. Aim: The aim of our study was to investigate renal morphology and functioning after 12 weeks of treatment with Equisetum arvense and Viscum album. Methods: Male Wistar rats with 5/6 nephrectomy received herbal drug preparation Equisetum/Viscum in a dosage of 0.007 g/kg/die (herbal group) or losartan (180 mg/l, ARB group) or remained untreated. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and proteinuria were measured. Renal cortex tissue samples examined for focal-segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and interstitial fibrosis (IF). mRNA was isolated to estimate CCL2/MCP-1 gene transcription. Results: SBP was significantly lower both in herbal group and ARB group compared with untreated animals (p between ARB group and untreated NPX (p = 0.001). Quantitative RT-PCR analysis revealed statistically significant differences of mRNA transcription for MCP-1 between herbal group and untreated group (p Conclusions: We report about beneficial impact of horsetail Equisetum arvense and mistletoe Viscum album treatment on kidney functioning and morphology.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive disease and affects approximately 10% of the population. The major late pathologic feature of CKD is interstitial fibrosis in the kidney characterized by extracellular matrix deposition but in early stage, several profibrotic and proinflammatory cytokines as well as growth factors are expressed. The renin-angiotensin and ET systems both play an important role in the pathogenesis of CKD and the blockade of these systems has been shown to suppress proinflammatory cytokines and to arrest the progression of CKD. We have demonstrated earlier also the renoprotective effect of physical activity on the experimental CKD progression (pechter et al., 2003). Aim of the study was to investigate the effects of non-drug treatment, physical activity, to the extent of gene expression in experimental CKD and to compare with endothelin receptor blocker (ERB, sitaxentan) and standard nephroprotective drug, angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB, losartan) treatments. Expression of mRNA was assessed by real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. CCL2/MCP-1 and nuclear factor-κB (NFκB) gene expression was measured in whole kidneys. Results revealed that CCL2/MCP-1 gene expression (data presented in poster presentation ASN Renal Week 2010, pechter et al.) was increased in the 5/6 NPX rat kidneys, and the increase was lessened significantly after physical activity and losartan therapy. ERB treatment appeared less effective. Combined ARB and ERB treatment as well as drugs alone or physical therapy prevented the increase in systemic blood pressure, albuminuria and CCL2/MCP-1 as well as NFκB gene expression. We conclude that non-drug and drug treatments both were effective regarding the rate of the progression of experimental CKD measured by physiological and molecular biomarkers of chronic inflammation in kidney tissue.

Peanut allergy is majorly related to severe food induced allergic *** food including cow's milk,hen's eggs,soy,wheat,peanuts,tree nuts(walnuts,hazelnuts,almonds,cashews,pecans and pistachios),fish and shellfish are responsible for more than 90%of food ***,we provide promising insights using a large-scale data-driven analysis,comparing the mechanistic feature and biological relevance of different ingredients presents in peanuts,tree nuts(walnuts,almonds,cashews,pecans and pistachios)and ***,we have analysed the chemical compositions of peanuts in different processed form raw,boiled and *** the data-driven approach we are able to generate new hypotheses to explain why nuclear receptors like the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors(PPARs)and its isoform and their interaction with dietary lipids may have significant effect on allergic *** results obtained from this study will direct future experimeantal and clinical studies to understand the role of dietary lipids and PPARisoforms to exert pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory functions on cells of the innate immunity and influence antigen presentation to the cells of the adaptive immunity.

The aim of this study is to examine the qualities that auditors engaged in detecting potential fraud within multinational corporations in Sub-Saharan Africa should *** achieve this goal,a quantitative approach was used to develop and test a research model based on three theories:agency theory,attribution theory,and cognitive dissonance *** from a panel of two hundred and nine(209)auditors who conducted a legal audit mission in a Sub-Saharan multinational were analyzed using SmartPLS 3.3.3 *** results emphasize the crucial importance of auditors’competence and continuous training in fraud ***,professional skepticism and time pressure were found to be non-significant in this *** conclusion provides essential insights for auditors,highlighting the key qualities needed to effectively address fraud detection within multinational corporations in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Skin-to-skin contact(SSC)consists of positioning the diaper-clad infant against the parent’s chest and is considered a nursing practice rooted in family-centered care(FCC).1 SSC implies simultaneous parental presence and helps to facilitate their involvement from the earliest hours of their preterm infants’lives as this intervention is delivered by parents.1 FCC has gained worldwide popularity in recent years to promote parental presence and active participation of parents in care during neonatal intensive care units(NICUs)hospitalization.2 Both practices relate to developmental care(DC),which regroups specific interventions aimed at reducing stress and improving infant neurological development.

Solid-pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas (SPT) or Frantz’s tumor is a rare epithelial neoplasm that represents 0.3% to 2.7% of exocrine pancreatic tumors. These tumors occur mainly in young women and have a good prognosis. We present a case of a 19-year-old female patient who presented to the emergency for abdominal pain. Physical examination reveals a left hypochondrium mass. Ultrasound imaging showed an encapsulated caudal pancreatic mass with cystic components. The patient underwent tumor excision and lymph node removal. Macroscopically, the tumor was encapsulated and measuring 12 × 8 × 7 cm. It has a solid-cystic and hemorrhagic appearance inside. Histologically, the tumor had two components: solid and papillary. Tumor tissue showed monomorphic tumor cells radiating around blood vessels. Perineural invasion and vascular emboli were not seen. Three lymph nodes without metastases were observed. The diagnosis of solid-pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas (SPT) or Frantz’s tumor was retained. Solid-pseudo-papillary tumor of the pancreas is rare and not always suspected by the physician. The clinical and imaging patterns are not specific. Anatomopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis. The patient underwent curative surgery.

Superficial Angiomyxoma of the Vulva: A Case Report

Superficial angiomyxoma is a rare benign mesenchymal tumor that mainly occurs in the genital region. We report the case of a 51-year-old woman with a painless vulvar mass, well circumscribed on ultrasound. On gross finding, it was a polypoid and bilobed mass, partially encapsulated. On histological examination, it was a proliferation of non-atypical spindle cells with an abundant, myxoid stroma and numerous medium-sized blood vessels. The diagnosis was superficial angiomyxoma. The clinical features do not often lead to the diagnosis of superficial vulvar angiomyxoma. It is based on histological examination and immunohistochemistry is helpful to differentiate it from other myxoid tumors.

Introduction: The effective sterilization of reusable instruments in dental care is a crucial issue for public health. The aim of this study was to contribute to improving the processing conditions of reusable care instruments in dental practices in the city of Conakry. Methods: We carried out an observational and cross-sectional study of a descriptive type lasting three months from January to April 2022 in public and private dental practices approved for activities. Results: A total of 48 dental practices were surveyed, including 7 public and 41 private. 91.67% had the trays for instrument sterilization. 77.08% had a sterilization device. The instruments were: cleaned 100%, disinfected 70.83%, sterilized 20.83% and 20.83% reused the instruments without being sterilized. 72.97% sterilized the instruments at the end of the day. 50% of respondents declared that there were six stages of sterilization. According to standard standards, one dental office or 2.70% respected the normal sterilization process and 13.51% respected the duration and temperature. The storage quality was inadequate at 95.83%. 95.83% of dental practices are at high risk of contamination. The difficulties encountered by staff in daily activity during our study were lack of hygienists (87.50%), insufficient material resources (58.33%), and lack of protocol procedure (45.83%). Conclusion: This study allowed us to note shortcomings of dental surgeons in the process of processing reusable care materials.

Accessory or ectopic breast tissue is an anomaly in the development of the breast. It is a rare condition that occurs along the embryological mammary line. In less than 1% of all breast cancers, supernumerary breast cancer is reported, with the axillary location being the most common in 60% to 90% of cases. Cancerous degeneration of this supernumerary breast tissue can pose a dual diagnostic and therapeutic problem. We report the case of locally advanced adenocarcinoma in a right supernumerary breast. This is a 75-year-old, grand-multiparous, postmenopausal, and known hypertensive patient on treatment. Family history was remarkable for brain cancer in her sister and oesophageal cancer in her mother. She consulted for a mass in the right axillary cavity on supernumerary breast evolving for a year. Clinical examination revealed a large, fixed, budding and haemorrhagic-ulcerated mass of the right axilla, with long axis measuring about 15 cm. There was as wella supernumerary breast on the left, but without particularity. A soft tissue ultrasound showed a large hypoechoicmass in the right axillary region of 116 mm with areas of central necrobiosis. Morphologically, the breasts were normal. A breast MRI revealed a subcutaneous mass in the right axillary cavity with skin ulceration and satellite lymphadenopathy. The extension assessment revealed liver metastases, and a biopsy of the mass revealed a breast adenocarcinoma. The case was the subject of a multidisciplinary consultation meeting following which a wide excision of the mass was indicated. The histo-pathology analysis results of the surgical specimen were in favour of a triple negative papillary adenocarcinoma. After a post-operative multidisciplinary consultation meeting, adjuvant chemotherapy was indicated. The development of supernumerary breasts depends on hormones, just like normal breasts. Breast cancer in accessory breast tissue is quite rare with the incidence being 6%. The most common pathology is invasive
