The business success of the most important hotel company in Asia in the 20^(th) century,and therefore of its owners,the Kadoorie Family,is intertwined with the life of the only Spanish architect in the city of Huangpu.A long-forgotten story,its discovery reveals the interests,tastes and cultural mix of the multinational community that inhabited the most open city of the *** Lafuente García-Rojo(Madrid 1871-Shanghai 1931)worked uninterruptedly for the‘Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd.’(HSH)for ten years since *** that decade,he carried out interior renovations in eight HSH hotels in the cities of Shanghai,Hong Kong and Shameen in *** with that,he worked for many clients and introduced the Spanish neo-Arab style in several buildings which still stand today in the city under unknown *** professional career in China-linked to the HSH-is a case study of the cultural melting pot of the city of *** is nowadays a foot note in Shanghai's architecture history and yet he deserves a chapter of his own,and this article is the first step.

The role of copper element has been an increasingly relevant topic in recent years in the fields of human and animal health, for both the study of new drugs and innovative food and feed supplements. This metal plays an important role in the central nervous system, where it is associated with glutamatergic signaling, and it is widely involved in inflammatory processes. Thus, diseases involving copper(Ⅱ) dyshomeostasis often have neurological symptoms, as exemplified by Alzheimer's and other diseases(such as parkinson's and Wilson's diseases). Moreover, imbalanced copper ion concentrations have also been associated with diabetes and certain types of cancer, including glioma. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive overview of recent results that show the importance of these metal ions in several pathologies, mainly Alzheimer's disease, through the lens of the development and use of copper chelators as research compounds and potential therapeutics if included in multi-target hybrid drugs. Seeing how copper homeostasis is important for the well-being of animals as well as humans, we shortly describe the state of the art regarding the effects of copper and its chelators in agriculture, livestock rearing, and aquaculture, as ingredients for the formulation of feed supplements as well as to prevent the effects of pollution on animal productions.

Recent reports suggest that aging is not solely a physiological process in living beings;instead, it should be considered a pathological process or disease(Amorim et al., 2022). Consequently, this process involves a wide range of factors, spanning from genetic to environmental factors, and even includes the gut microbiome(GM)(Mayer et al., 2022). All these processes coincide at some point in the inflammatory process, oxidative stress, and apoptosis, at different degrees in various organs and systems that constitute a living organism(Mayer et al., 2022;AguilarHernández et al., 2023).

The Catabacteriaceae is a new bacterial family aerobic, non-sporulating, Gram-positive coccobacillus that is with a unique member： Catabacter hongkongensis is a strictly anphylogenetically related to some clostridial clusters. Little is known of its epidemiology and environmental distribution, but the inclusion of its 16S rRNA gene sequence in GenBank has allowed it to be detected qualitatively. As a first approach for prospective surveys, a real-time polymerase chain reaction （pCR） procedure to identify C. hongkongensis has been developed. The presence of Catabacteriaceae in 29 water bodies subjected to possible human or animal impact has been investigated. Four of them were positive. The results confirm that highly polluted water can contain C hongkongensis.

The present work describes the development of a computer vision system for the early detection of anthracnose in sugar mango based on Ultraviolet A illumination(UV-A).Anthracnose,a disease caused by the fungus Colletotrichum sp,is commonly found in the fruit of sugar mango(Mangifera indica).It manifests as surface defects including black spots and is responsible for reducing the quality of the ***,it decreases its commercial *** more detail,this study poses a system that begins with image acquisition under white and ultraviolet ***,it proposes to analyze the Red,Green and Blue color information(R,G,B)of the pixels under two types of illumination,using four different methods:RGB-threshold,RGB-Linear Discriminant Analysis(RGBLDA),UV-LDA,and *** analysis produces an early semantic segmentation of healthy and diseased areas of the mango *** results showed that the combination of the linear discriminant analysis(LDA)and UV-A light(called UV-LDA method)in sugar mango images allows early detection of ***,this method achieves the identification of the disease one day earlier than by an expert with respect to the scale of anthracnose severity implemented in this work.

Helicobacter pylori are ubiquitous Gram-negative bacteria with a high estimated level of infection in the world populations, but a majority of the infected persons are asymptomatic. This pathogen has been classified by the World Health Organization as a class I carcinogen and recognized as the causal agent of most peptic ulcers and chronic gastritis that might lead to stomach cancer. Although not all the transmission pathways of these bacteria into humans have been propedy identified, enough data have suggested that the oral-oral or fecal-oral ones are the main infection routes. Helicobacterpylori have been detected in non-treated water and in drinking water, which suggested that water might be an important infection source. As childhood is the critical period of infection, the aim of the present work was to examine the presence of Helicobacterpylori in soil samples from public playing areas of Spanish parks.

To highlight the importance of small earthquakes in seismic hazard, a study of the 11 May 2016, Mw 4.9, Tesistan, Mexico earthquake is presented. Due to the close proximity of the event to the city, accelerations were considerably higher than those caused by historical severe earthquakes (6.0 paper addresses two objectives related to the Tesistan event: the fi rst is to estimate the focal mechanism solution in order to place the event in the context of the tectonic environment of this area. The second is focused on a vulnerability evaluation of buildings that suff ered resonance. Several building′s typologies with variations in construction system and height are assessed in terms of resonance with the structural and soil periods. The results show that around the Zapopan station, strong damage is expected in intermediate to high-rise buildings (12-30 m) with moment resistant frame systems and in reinforced concrete shear walls. Masonry structures around this station may not present resonance. In contrast, in the surroundings of the Guadalajara station, all intermediate height buildings from 9 to 21 m may present resonance.

This paper presents an Iterative Learning Control design applied to homing guidance of missiles against maneuvering targets. According to numerical experiments, although an increase of the control energies is appreciated with respect to a previous published base controller for comparison, this strategy, which is simple to realize, is able to reduce the time to reach the head-on condition to target destruction. This fact is important to minimize the missile lateral force-level to fulfill engaging in hyper-sonic target persecutions.

Extensive green roofs improve the provision of ecosystem services in urban environ-ments,particularly in semiarid *** aim of this paper is to compare their thermal performance during six months between two rooms,one with a green roof and the other with a conventional roof,in Córdoba(Argentina).The room with a green(planting)roof showed a lower inside surface temperature since the begin-ning of the study than the control room(between 5-6°C of difference).During the selected period,the indicators such as temperature amplitude(the difference between the maximum and the average temperature)and the anti-interference characteristics of the layers to the outdoor air temperature are produced a better performance for the green roof compared to the conventional *** pattern of a better perfor-mance was consistent across the study for the green roof,characterized by a higher cooling and warming of the roof surface during the day and night,*** green roof was more effective at blocking an upward heat flux during the day and suppressing heat loss during the ***,conductive flux and climatic conditions seem to dominate the thermal performance of green roofs in areas with semiarid climate conditions.
