Protective effect of clodronate-containing liposomes on intestinal mucosal injury in rats with severe acute pancreatitis

BACKGROUND: Severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) can result in intestinal mucosal injury. This study aimed to demonstrate the protective effect of clodronate-containing liposomes on intestinal mucosal injury in rats with SAP. METHODS: Liposomes containing clodronate or phosphate buffered saline (PBS) were prepared by the thin-film method SAP models were prepared by a uniform injection of sodium taurocholate (2 mL/kg body weight) into the subcapsular space of the pancreas. Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a control group (C group), a SAP plus PBS-containing liposomes group (P group) and a SAP plus clodronate-containing liposomes group (T group). At 2 and 6 hours after the establishment of SAP models, 2 mL blood samples were taken from the superior mesenteric vein to measure the contents of serum TNF-α and IL-12. Pathological changes in the intestine and pancreas were observed using hematoxylin and eosin staining, while apoptosis was detected using TUNEL staining. In addition, the macrophage markers cluster of differentiation 68 (CD68) in the intestinal tissue was assessed with immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: At the two time points, the levels of TNF-α and IL-12 in the P group were higher than those in the C group (P<0.05) Compared with the P group, the levels of TNF-α and IL-12 decreased in the T group (P<0.05). The pathological scores of the intestinal mucosa and pancreas in the T group were lower than those of the P group. In the T group, large numbers of TUNEL-positive cells were observed, but none or few in the C and P groups. The number of CD68-positive macrophages decreased in the T ***: Clodronate-containing liposomes have prote- ctive effects against intestinal mucosal injury in rats with SAP. The blockade of macrophages may provide a novel therapeutic strategy in SAP.

There have been many skewed cancer gene expression datasets in the post-genomic era. Extraction of differential expression genes or construction of decision rules using these skewed datasets by traditional algorithms will seriously underestimate the performance of the minority class, leading to inaccurate diagnosis in clinical trails. This paper presents a skewed gene selection algorithm that introduces a weighted metric into the gene selection procedure. The extracted genes are paired as decision rules to distinguish both classes, with these decision rules then integrated into an ensemble learning framework by majority voting to recognize test examples; thus avoiding tedious data normalization and classifier construction. The mining and integrating of a few reliable decision rules gave higher or at least comparable classification performance than many traditional class imbalance learning algorithms on four benchmark imbalanced cancer gene expression datasets.

This review introduces the kinetic theory of self-condensing vinyl polymerization (SCVP),including the SCVP of AB inimers,the SCVP with non-equal reactivity between A and B groups,the SCVP in the presence of a small amount of multifunctional initiators,also the SCVP of both inimers and *** analytical expressions of various molecular parameters for the resulting hyperbranched polymers,such as the molecular size distribution function,the average molecular weight,the polydispersity index and the degree of branching,are reviewed systematically.

Defect engineering in transition metal oxides semiconductors(TMOs)is attracting considerable interest due to its potential to enhance conductivity by intentionally introducing defects that modulate the electronic structures of the ***,achieving a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between micro-structures and electromagnetic wave absorption capabilities remains elusive,posing a substantial challenge to the advancement of TMOs *** current research describes a process for the deposition of a MoO_(3.layer onto SiC nanowires,achieved via electro-deposition followed by high-temperature ***,intentional creation of oxygen vacancies within the MoO_(3.layer was carried out,facilitating the precise adjustment of electromagnetic properties to enhance the microwave absorption performance of the ***,the SiC@MO-t4.sample exhibited an excellent minimum reflection loss of-50.4. dB at a matching thickness of 1.27 ***,the SiC@MO-t6 sample exhibited an effective absorption bandwidth of 8.72 GHz with a thickness of 2.81 mm,comprehensively covering the entire Ku *** results not only highlight the pivotal role of defect engineering in the nuanced adjustment of electromagnetic properties but also provide valuable insight for the application of defect engineering methods in broadening the spectrum of electromagnetic wave absor ption ***@MO-t samples with varying concentrations of oxygen vacancies were prepared through in-situ etching of the SiC@MoO_(3.*** presence of oxygen vacancies plays a crucial role in adjusting the band gap and local electron distribution,which in turn enhances conductivity loss and induced polarization loss *** finding reveals a novel strategy for improving the absorption properties of electromagnetic waves through defect engineering.

For the pursuit of high energy supercapacitors,the development of high performance pseudocapacitance or battery-type negative electrode material is urgently needed to make up for the capacity shortage of commercial electric double layer capacitor(EDLC)type ***,a porous and defect-rich Fe_(x)Bi_(2-x)S_(3. solid solution structure is firstly constructed by employing Fe-doped Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3. porous nanosheets as a precursor,which presents dramatically increased energy storage performance than Bi_(2)S_(3. and FeS_(2) *** the optimized Fe_(x)Bi_(2-x)S_(3. solid solution(FeBiS-60%),the Fe solute is free and random dispersed in Bi_(2)S_(3. framework,which can effectively modulate the electronic structure of Bi element and introduce rich-defect due to the existence of Fe(II).Meanwhile,the FeBiS-60%,constructed by pore nanosheets that are assembled by self-supported basic nanorod units,presents rich mesoporous channels for fast mass transfer and abundant active sites for promoting capacity ***,a high capacitance of 83..8 F·g^(-1) at a current density of 1 A·g^(-1) is achieved by the FeBiS-60%***,a fabricated Ni3._(2)@Co_(3.S_(4.(NCS)//FeBiS-60%hybrid supercapacitor device delivers an outstanding energy density of 85.3. Wh·kg^(-1) at the power density of 0.799 kW·kg^(-1),and ultra-long lifespan of remaining 86.7%initial capacitance after 8700 cycles.

PREPARATION OF SURFACE ION-IMPRINTED ATTAPULGITE-SUPPORTED POLYMER AND ITS ADSORPTION BEHAVIORS OF Sr(II)

The surface ion-imprinting concept and chitosan incorporated sol-gel process were applied to the preparation of a new attapulgite-supported organic-inorganic hybrid polymer for selective separation of Sr(II) from aqueous solution. The prepared polymer was characterized with SEM, IR and XRD. The results showed that as a sorbent, it had good configuration and binding sites. Its adsorption behaviors for Sr(II) was investigated by FAAS and ICP-AES. The effects on adsorption capacities, including pH, quiescent time, and adsorbent amount were discussed, and the adsorption isothermal curve was obtained. Then the Kd a parameter estimating relative adsorbability, was conducted to study the selectivity towards Sr(II) of the prepared polymer. Under the optimum conditions, the ion-imprinted polymer offered a fast kinetics for the adsorption of Sr(II) and the maximum capacity was 12.9mg/g. The Kd and K parameters estimating relative adsorbability towards target ion, suggested that selective recognition of the ion-imprinted polymer towards Sr(II) was much higher than that of the non-imprinted polymer and attapulgite. Furthermore, the ion-imprinted polymer is of great regeneration capacity. The prepared functional polymer was shown to be promising for selective preseparation and enrichment of trace Sr(II) in environmental samples.

STUDY ON THE ADSORPTION BEHAVIOR OF Pb(Ⅱ) ON NANOMETER ATTAPULGITE BY FAAS

The adsorptive behavior of nanometer attapulgite modified by acid to Pb(II) was investigated by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) in this paper. The mainly effect parameters on the adsorptive efficiency of Pb(II), such as the acidity of the solution, the amount of attapulgite, oscillation time and static time were studied. Also the influencing factors of the recovery efficiency of Pb(II), including the concentration of hydrochloric acid, the volume of hydrochloric acid, oscillation time and static time were investigated. The adsorptive capacity of Pb(II) on nanometer attapulgite was 26.5mg/g and the adsorptive capacity of first cycle and second cycle regenerated nanometer attapulgite were 26.5mg/g and 26.3.g/g, respectively. The results obtained indicated that the regenerated effect was good.
