Porous TiFe_(2) intermetallic compound fabricated via elemental powder reactive synthesis

Porous intermetallics show potential in the field of filtration and separation as well as in the field of ***,porous Ti Fe2intermetallics were fabricated by the reactive synthesis of elemental *** phase transformation and pore formation of porous TiFe2intermetallics were investigated,and its corrosion behavior and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)performance in alkali solution were *** TiFe2intermetallics with porosity in the range of 34.4%-56.4%were synthesized by the diffusion reaction of Ti and Fe elements,and the pore formation of porous TiFe2intermetallic compound is the result of a combination of the bridging effect and the Kirkendall *** porous TiFe2samples exhibit better corrosion resistance compared with porous 316L stainless steel,which is related to the formation of uniform nanosheets on the surface that hinder further corrosion,and porous TiFe2electrode shows the overpotential of 220.6 and 295.6 mV at 10 and 100 mA·cm-2,suggesting a good catalytic *** synthesized porous Fe-based intermetallic has a controllable pore structure as well as excellent corrosion resistance,showing its potential in the field of filtration and separation.

Trace hydrogen sulphide(H_(2)S)could reflect the severity of insulation faults in gas-insulated switchgear(gIS),therefore,accurate and fast detection of low-concentration H_(2)S is important for on-line monitoring,fault diagnosis,and state evaluation in ***-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) chemiresistive-type sensors were fabricated via drop-coating with self-reduction synthesised Ag-doped Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x).The as-prepared sensors exhibited an excel-lent sensitivity and selectivity to H_(2)S with an extremely low detection of limit of 18.57 parts per billion(ppb)at 25℃(room temperature).The response of Ag-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) sensor to 10 parts per million(ppm)H_(2)S was enhanced~12 times than that of the pristine Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) *** compositing of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) with Ag nanoparticles(NPs)enabled the fast response/recovery time for H_(2)S *** analysis found that the enhanced H_(2)S sensing performances could be attributed to chemical sensitisation,adsorbed oxygen species regulation and high Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET)surface *** study paves the way for Ag-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) as room-temperature sensing materials to detect low-concentration H_(2)S in gIS.

Tunnelling has increasingly become an essential tool in the exploration of underground space.A typical construction problem is the face instability during tunnelling,posing a great threat to associated *** face instability often occurs with the soil arching *** study investigates the combined effect of cutterhead opening ratio and soil non-uniformity on soil arching effect and face stability,via conducting random finite-element analysis coupled with Monte–Carlo *** results underscore that the face stability is strongly associated with the evolution of stress *** obtained stability factors in the uniform soils can serve as a reference for the design of support pressure in practical tunnelling *** addition,non-uniform soils exhibit a lower stability factor than uniform soils,which implies that the latter likely yields an underestimated probability of face *** tunnel face is found to have a probability of failure more than 50%if the spatial non-uniformity of soil is *** the end,a practical framework is established to determine factor of safety(FOS)corresponding to different levels of probability of face failure considering various opening ratios in non-uniform *** required FOS is 1.70 to limit the probability of face instability no more than 0.1%.Our findings can facilitate the prediction of probability of instability in the conventionally deterministic design of face pressure.

Optical materials capable of dynamically manipulating electromagnetic waves are an emerging field in memories,optical modulators,and thermal ***,their multispectral design preliminarily attracts much attention,aiming to enhance their efficiency and integration of ***,the multispectral manipulation based on these materials is challenging due to their ubiquitous wavelength dependence restricting their capacity to narrow *** this article,we cascade multiple tunable optical cavities with selective-transparent layers,enabling a universal approach to overcoming wavelength dependence and establishing a multispectral platform with highly integrated *** on it,we demonstrate the multispectral(ranging from 400 nm to 3 cm),fast response speed(0.9 s),and reversible manipulation based on a typical phase change material,vanadium *** platform involves tandem VO_(2)-based Fabry–Pérot(F-P)cavities enabling the customization of optical responses at target bands *** can achieve broadband color-changing capacity in the visible region(a shift of~60 nm in resonant wavelength)and is capable of freely switching between three typical optical models(transmittance,reflectance,and absorptance)in the infrared to microwave regions with drastic amplitude tunability exceeding *** work represents a state-of-art advance in multispectral optics and material science,providing a critical approach for expanding the multispectral manipulation ability of optical systems.

Vitamin E(VE) is an essential lipid-soluble vitamin that improves the fish flesh quality. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects of VE on growth performance and flesh quality in sub-adult grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella). A total of 450fish(713.53 ± 1.50 g) were randomly divided into six treatment groups(three replicates per treatment)and fed for nine weeks with different experimental diets(dietary lipid 47.8 g/kg) that contained different levels of VE(5.44, 52.07, 96.85, 141.71, 185.66, and 230.12 mg/kg diet, supplemented as dl-a-tocopherol acetate). Notably, the treatment groups that were fed with dietary VE ranging from 52.07 to230.12 mg/kg diet showed improvement in the percent weight gain, special growth rate, and feed efficiency of grass carp. Moreover, the treatment groups supplemented with dietary VE level of 141.71,185.66, and 230.12 mg/kg diet showed enhancement in crude protein, lipid, and a-tocopherol contents in the muscle, and the dietary levels of VE ranging from 52.07 to 141.71 mg/kg diet improved muscle pH24h and shear force but reduced muscle cooking loss in grass carp. Furthermore, appropriate levels of VE(52.07 to 96.85 mg/kg diet) increased the muscle polyunsaturated fatty acid content in grass carp. Dietary VE also increased the mRNA levels of fatty acid synthesis-related genes, including fas, scd-1, fad,elovl, srebp1, pparγ, and lxra, and up-regulated the expression of SREBP-1 protein. However, dietary VE decreased the expression of fatty acid decomposition-related genes, including hsl, cpt1, acox1, and ppara,and endoplasmic reticulum stress-related genes, including perk, ire1, atf6, eif2a, atf4, xbp1, chop, and grp78, and down-regulated the expression of p-PERK, p-IRE1, ATF6, and gRP78 proteins. In conclusion,dietary VE increased muscle fatty acid synthesis, which may be partly associated with the alleviation of endoplasmic reticulum stress, and ultimately improves fish fles

Three-dimensional(3D)phononic topological insulators(TIs)featuring two-dimensional(2D)surface states and one-dimensional(1D)hinge states have opened up a new route for multi-dimensional robust wave transport,providing unprecedented methods for integrated acoustic sensors and energy harvesting ***,aiming at the elastic 3D phononic TI with gapless surface states and hinge states,the realization of elastic 3D phononic TIs with gapless surface states and hinge states is a significant challenge due to the complicated multi-mode polarization of elastic waves in 3D *** this study,we demonstrate an elastic 3D phononic TI with a Dirac hierarchy by elaborately operating the corresponding spatial symmetries of the chiral honeycomb ***,a 3D double Dirac cone of elastic wave can be achieved by doubling the lattice along the outof-plane direction to fold two iso-frequency Weyl *** topological phase transitions and 2D gapless two-fold Dirac surface states of elastic wave are realized by breaking the half-lattice spatial translation ***,based on the Brillouin zone folding along the in-plane direction,the 2D gapless two-fold surface Dirac cones are folded into four-fold surface Dirac ***,by inducing the relative radius of adjacent holes to break the in-plane spatial inversion symmetry,the fourfold surface Dirac cones are gapped and associated with a surface state inversion,in which the gapless 1D hinge Dirac dispersion is *** research offers a route for engineering the hierarchies of TIs in 3D elastic wave systems and provides new possibilities for designing 3D ultrasonic devices with unconventional functions.
