CToMP: a cycle-task-oriented memory protection scheme for unmanned systems

Memory corruption attacks(MCAs) refer to malicious behaviors of system intruders that modify the contents of a memory location to disrupt the normal operation of computing systems, causing leakage of sensitive data or perturbations to ongoing processes. Unlike general-purpose systems, unmanned systems cannot deploy complete security protection schemes, due to their limitations in size, cost and *** in unmanned systems are particularly difficult to defend against. Furthermore, MCAs have diverse and unpredictable attack interfaces in unmanned systems, severely impacting digital and physical sectors. In this paper, we first generalize, model and taxonomize MCAs found in unmanned systems currently, laying the foundation for designing a portable and general defense approach. According to different attack mechanisms,we found that MCAs are mainly categorized into two types — return2libc and return2shellcode. To tackle return2libc attacks, we model the erratic operation of unmanned systems with cycles and then propose a cycle-task-oriented memory protection(CToMP) approach to protect control flows from tampering. To defend against return2shellcode attacks, we introduce a secure process stack with a randomized memory address by leveraging the memory pool to prevent Shellcode from being executed. Moreover, we discuss the mechanism by which CTo MP resists the return-oriented programming(ROP) attack, a novel variant of return2libc attacks. Finally, we implement CTo MP on CUAV V5+ with Ardupilot and Crazyflie. The evaluation and security analysis results demonstrate that the proposed approach CTo MP is resilient to various MCAs in unmanned systems with low footprints and system overhead.

Wearable multilead ECG sensing systems using on-skin stretchable and breathable dry adhesives

Electrocardiogram(ECG)monitoring is used to diagnose cardiovascular diseases,for which wearable electronics have attracted much attention due to their lightweight,comfort,and long-term *** study developed a wearablemultilead ECG sensing system with on-skin stretchable and conductive silver(Ag)-coated fiber/silicone(AgCF-S)dry *** and normal adhesion to pigskin(0.43.and 0.20 N/cm2,respectively)was optimized by the active control of fiber density and mixing ratio,resulting in close contact in the electrode–skin *** breathableAgCF-S dry electrodewas nonallergenic after continuous fit for 24 h and can be reused/cleaned(>100 times)without loss of *** AgCF encapsulated inside silicone elastomers was overlapped to construct a dynamic network under repeated stretching(10%strain)and bending(90°)deformations,enabling small intrinsic impedance(0.3.,0.1 Hz)and contact impedance variation(0.7 k)in high-frequency vibration(70 Hz).All hard/soft modules of the multilead ECG system were integrated into lightweight clothing and equipped with wireless transmission for signal *** synchronous acquisition of I–III,aVR,aVL,aVF,and V4 lead data,the multilead ECG sensing system was suitable for various scenarios,such as exercise,rest,and sleep,with extremely high signal-to-noise ratios.

Conversion of LiPSs Accelerated by Pt-Doped Biomass-Derived Hyphae Carbon Nanobelts as Self-Supporting Hosts for Long-Lifespan Li-S Batteries

Rechargeable Li-S batteries(LSBs)are emerging as an important alternative to lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),owing to their high energy densities and low cost;yet sluggish redox kinetics of LiPSs results in inferior cycle ***,we prepared multifunctional self-supporting hyphae carbon nanobelt(HCNB)as hosts by carbonization of hyphae balls of Rhizopus,which could increase the S loading of the cathode without sacrificing reaction *** platinum(Pt)nanoparticles were introduced into HCNBs(PtHCNBs)by ion-beam sputtering *** on the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses,the introduced trace Pt regulated the local electronic states of heteroatoms in *** kinetics investigation combined with operando Raman measurements revealed the accelerated reaction mechanics of sulfur *** from the synergistic catalytic effect and the unique structures,the as-prepared PtHCNB/MWNCT/S cathodes delivered a stable capacity retention of 77%for 400 cycles at 0.5 C with a sulfur loading of 4.6 mg cm^(-2).More importantly,remarkable cycling performance was achieved with an high areal S loading of 7.6 mg cm^(-2).This finding offers a new strategy to prolong the cycle life of LSBs.

Determination of the critical rainfall of runoff-initiated debris flows by the perspective of physical mechanics and Shields stress

The critical rainfall of runoff-initiated debris flows is utmost importance for local early hazard *** paper presents research on the critical rainfall of runoff-initiated debris flows through comparisons between slope gradients and three key factors,including topographic contributing area,dimensionless discharge,and Shields *** rainfall amount was estimated by utilizing in-situ rainfall records and a slope-dependent Shields stress model was *** created model can predict critical Shields stress more accurately than the other two ***,a new dimensionless discharge equation was proposed based on the corresponding discharge-gradient *** new equation,along with factors such as contributing area above bed failure sites,channel width,and mean diameter of debris flow deposits,predicts a smaller rainfall amount than the in-situ measured *** the slope-dependent Shields stress model performs well and the estimated rainfall amount is lower than the in-situ records,the sediment initiation in the experiments falls within sheet flow regime due to a large Shields ***,further sediment initiation experiments at a steeper slope range are expected in the future to ensure that the sediment transport belongs to mass failure regime characterized by a low level of Shields ***,a more accurate hazard forecast on the runoff-initiated debris flow holds promise when the corresponding critical slope-dependent dimensionless discharge of no motion,fluvial sediment transport,mass flow regime,and sheet flow regime are considered.

Study of factors influencing the occurrence rate of 60 Hz power line radiation in the topside ionosphere:A systematic survey using the CSES satellite

We analyze the topside ionosphere power line radiation(PLR)at 60 Hz over the US using electric field data collected by CSES satellite between January 2019 and December *** study aimed to further investigate the month-to-month variation characteristic of PLR occurrence rate observed by satellite and its several influencing factors,including solar radiation,lightning activity,and try to clarify the influence of electricity *** results show that the solar radiation(solar zenith angle and F10.7)plays a major role in the variation of the PLR occurrence rate,and that there is no direct connection with the number of *** the relationship between PLR occurrence rate and electricity consumption,the low occurrence rate associated with decreased weekend electricity consumption was not observed in the ***,there is a significant difference in PLR occurrence rate between the East and West Coasts of the US at the same latitude during the same time period,suggesting that the significant difference in PLR occurrence rate is caused by the significant difference in electricity consumption between the two *** excluding the effect of solar radiation on PLR occurrence rate,we concluded that only a significant difference in regional electricity consumption could lead to a corresponding change in PLR occurrence rate detected by the Low-Earth-Orbit ***,we also found there is seasonal variation in the diurnal differences of the PLR occurrence rate caused by seasonal variation of the lower ionosphere.

A promising application of bulk metallic glasses in torque sensor

Torque sensors are essential components of robotic joints. In the past, structure optimization of force-sensing elements has been the common approach to improve the performance of the torque sensors. In this work, we demonstrate a torque sensor with bulk metallic glasses as a force-sensing element. Compared with the sensors made of stainless steel and aluminum alloy, the use of bulk metallic glass as a force-sensing element significantly improves sensor sensitivity, linearity, repeatability, hysteresis, and measuring range. Our work not only opens up a new avenue for the application of bulk metallic glasses, but also provides opportunities for enhancing the performance of force/torque sensors through materials optimization.

A two-pronged strategy utilizing exosomes extracted from antigenpresenting cells to combat hepatitis B

Chronic hepatitis B(CHB)is consistently challenging to conquer with numerous complications and *** the effectiveness of antiviral therapies in suppressing hepatitis B virus(HBV)replication,there is an urgent need for novel and more effective treatment *** strategies predominantly emphasize immune activation but still face challenges in sufficiently eliciting T cell *** into account the targeted delivery of nanoparticles to the liver and spleen via intravenous injection,we have proposed a dual-pronged therapeutic strategy based on antigen-presenting cells(APCs)-derived ***,exosomes targeted to the spleen can activate specific immune responses,while those targeted to the liver can modulate or reverse the liver’s immunosuppressive *** immunization,exosome formulations exhibit the remarkable ability to effectively activate APCs,thereby triggering the proliferation of CD8^(+)T ***,they also play an immunoregulatory role by converting M2 macrophages into M1 *** two-pronged therapeutic strategy precisely addresses the issues of T cell dysfunction and immune suppression,both characteristic features of CHB *** combined with Aluminum(Alum)-adjuvanted vaccine,these exosome formulations not only demonstrate a high level of cellular immune response but also secrete specific antibodies comparable to those induced by Alum *** combined approach effectively enhances both cellular and humoral immunity,offering a promising avenue for the development of therapeutic hepatitis B vaccines based on exosome formulations.

Feature matching via Topology-Aware Graph Interaction Model

Feature matching plays a key role in computer vision. However, due to the limitations of the descriptors, the putative matches are inevitably contaminated by massive *** paper attempts to tackle the outlier filtering problem from two aspects. First, a robust and efficient graph interaction model,is proposed, with the assumption that matches are correlated with each other rather than independently distributed. To this end, we construct a graph based on the local relationships of matches and formulate the outlier filtering task as a binary labeling energy minimization problem, where the pairwise term encodes the interaction between matches. We further show that this formulation can be solved globally by graph cut algorithm. Our new formulation always improves the performance of previous localitybased method without noticeable deterioration in processing time,adding a few milliseconds. Second, to construct a better graph structure, a robust and geometrically meaningful topology-aware relationship is developed to capture the topology relationship between matches. The two components in sum lead to topology interaction matching(TIM), an effective and efficient method for outlier filtering. Extensive experiments on several large and diverse datasets for multiple vision tasks including general feature matching, as well as relative pose estimation, homography and fundamental matrix estimation, loop-closure detection, and multi-modal image matching, demonstrate that our TIM is more competitive than current state-of-the-art methods, in terms of generality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Distributed active vibration control for helicopter based on diffusion collaboration

The active vibration control technology has been successfully applied to several helicopter ***,with the increasing of control scale,traditional centralized control algorithms are experiencing significant increase of computational complexity and physical implementation *** address this issue,a diffusion collaboration-based distributed Filtered-x Least Mean Square algorithm applied to active vibration control is proposed,drawing inspiration from the concept of data fusion in wireless sensor *** algorithm distributes the computation load to each node,and constructs the active vibration control network topology of large-scale system by discarding the weak coupling secondary paths between nodes,achieving distributed active vibration *** order to thoroughly validate the effectiveness and superiority of this algorithm,a helicopter fuselage model is designed as the research ***,the excellent vibration reduction performance of the proposed algorithm is confirmed through ***,specialized node control units are developed,which utilize STM3. microcontroller as the processing ***,a distributed control system is constructed based on multi-processor *** on this foundation,a large-scale active vibration control experimental platform is *** on the platform,experiments are carried out,involving the 4-input 4-output system and the 8-input 8-output *** experimental results demonstrate that under steady-state harmonic excitation,the proposed algorithm not only ensures control effectiveness but also reduces computational complexity by 50%,exhibiting faster convergence speed compared with traditional centralized *** time-varying external excitation,the proposed algorithm demonstrates rapid tracking of vibration changes,with vibration amplitudes at all controlled points declining by over 94%,proving the strong robustness and adaptive capability of the algorithm
