Debris-flow of Zelongnong Ravine in Tibet

Zelongnong Ravine,a branch ravine of Brahmaputra,is an old large glacier debris-flow ***-flows with medium and/or small scales occur almost every year;multiple super debris-flows have also broken out in history,and have caused destructive disaster to local residents at the mouth of ravine and blocked *** huge altitude difference and the steep slope of the Zelongnong Ravine provide predominant energy conditions for the *** drainage basin is located in the fast uplifted area,where the complicated geologic structure,the cracked rock,and the frequent earthquake make the rocks experience strong weathering,thus plenty of granular materials are available for the formation of *** this region is located in the rain shadow area,the precipitation is concentrated and most is with high ***,the strong glacier activity provides water source for *** to literature reviews,most debris-flows in the ravine are induced by rainstorms,and their scales are relatively ***,when the melted water is overlaid,the large scale debris-flows may *** calculation such as the flow velocity and the runoff is conducted according to the monitoring *** result shows that large debris-flows can be aroused when the rainstorm and the melted water are combined well,but the possibility of blocking off Brahmaputra is *** occurrence of the super debris-flows is closely related to the intense glacier activity(e.g.,glaciersurge).They often result in destructive disasters and are hard to be prevented and cured by engineering measures,due to the oversized *** hazard mitigation measures such as monitoring and prediction are proposed.

Based on geomorphological, tectonic and sedimentary data, a Kunlun Yellow River Tectonic Movement has been recognized in 1 10-0 60 Ma B.P. This tectonic movement, which leads to uplift of the Qinghai_Xizang (Tibet) Plateau from 1 500 to 3 000-3 500 m, is periodic, abrupt and changeable in the movement rate of uplifting and slide slipping.

Deg1,a thylakoid lumen-localized protease,retains both chaperone and protease *** in vivo function of Deg1 has been shown to be involved not only in PSII assembly but also in the degradation of PSII reaction center protein *** we used the transgenic plants with reduced Deg1 to examine whether the lumen-localized proteins are also the substrates of Deg1 in *** results showed that the transgenic plants accumulated degradation products of the PsbO protein while the levels of full-length PsbO were not *** PsbO degradation products could be efficiently degraded by the recombinant *** results suggest that Deg1 is involved in the degradation of the PsbO degradation fragments,but not in the initial cleavage event itself.

In this paper,the social learning in Boolean networks is *** agent makes its decision and takes an action from two possible actions in light of its private belief and the actions of *** the decision process based on the majority principle,if all agents do not receive private signal about the underlying state of the world,then all agents will make the same decision under mild assumptions but the collective decision is false with a positive *** at least one agent can receive private signal,then,with updating their private beliefs in a Bayesian way,all agents will make the same decision and the common decision is right with probability one,that is,the asymptotic learning is achieved almost surely.

The first results of sorption experiments of U(VI), 234U(VI) and 238U(VI) onto original (unpurified) fracture-filling clays from No.1 monzonitic granite intrusion, Beishan area, Gansu Province, china are reported. The monzonitic granite intrusion is a potential location for a high-level radwaste (HLW) repository in china. The present experimental results show that the maximum U(VI) sorption reached 92% at near-neutral pH and the distribution coefficient (Kd) was 1226 mL/g. A high sorption capacity of the fracture-filling clays in host rock on radioactive ele-ments is necessary for HLW deep geological disposal repository. No preferential sorption of 234U onto the clays was found. Finally, the sorption of U(VI) onto the clays was also modeled using a surface complexation model.

Based on the developed Anderson and Moore's theory about cross-equatorial inertial jets and a nonlinear equivalence shallow water model, new universal functions are determined by the characters of the vortical large-scale air flow (atmosphere) or ocean current (ocean) related to the jet, then the potential vorticity and energy conservation equations along the streamline in the cross-equatorial in-ertial jets can be obtained. Because the governing equations are nonlinear, some limited multiple equi-libria of cross-equatorial inertial jets may exist. According to the character of large-scale air flow or ocean current outside the jets, the existent criterion for multiple eqnilibria in cross-equatorial inertial jets is discussed, and two examples for multiple equilibia of nonlinear governing equations are given.

The band structures of BSb and BxGa1-xSb alloys are studied using first-principles calculations in the generalized gradient approximation. By SQS-8 supercells to model a random alloy, the direct transition energy-gap (Γ15v- Γ1c) bowing of 3.0 eV is obtained for BxGa1-xSb alloys in x = 0-50%, in x = 0-11% the energy-gap is the band-gap and increases by 7 meV/%B with boron composition increasing; by SQS-16 supercells the bowing parameter is about 1.9 eV in x = 0-12.5%. The formation enthalpies of mixing, ΔH, are calculated for BxGa1-xAs and BxGa1-xSb alloys. A comparison of enthalpies indicates that BxGa1-xSb films with boron composition of 7% may be possible.

13C 2D-PASS spectra of two new cis-dioxo catecholatomolybdenum complexes (NH2CH2NH2CHCH2)2(H+)3[MovO 2(C6H4O2)2] and (NH2CH2CH2CH2NH2)2(H+)3[Mo(v)O2 (C2H2O2)2] have been obtained by solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), in which the spinning sidebands were well-separated. The principal components of the 13C shielding tensors were extracted by theoretically fitting the intensities of 13C spinning sidebands. The effects of counter cations on 13C chemical shift isotropy and shielding tensor of cis-dioxo catecholatomolybdenum complex anion [Mo (v)O2(C6H4O2)2]3? were studied, comparing the 13C CSA of those carbon sites in complex anions with that of the counter cations. Based on the known structure of the molybdenum complex crystal, theoretical values of 13C shielding tensors were calculated by the ainitio GIAO method, in comparison with the experimental results.

By the vector product of absolute vorticity vectors and equivalent potential temperature gradients, a new vector, convec-tive vorticity vector (CVV) is readdressed after Gao et al., and is applied to the study of the development and movement of mesoscale rainstorms in the Jiang-Huai valley of china by using high-resolution simulation data with PSU/NCAR MM5 briefly. The results show that the CVV, especially its vertical component which is closely related to interactions between vertical secondary circulations and horizontal equivalent potential temperature gradients, may be a good tracer and diagnostic tool in the study of mesoscale rainstorms in the Jiang-Huai valley of china. And the main physical processes responsible for the variations of the vertical component of the CVV are discussed briefly based on its tendency equation proposed in this article.

Effect of ball milling process on the microstructure of titanium-nanohydroxyapatite composite powder

Titaninm-nanohydroxyapatite （Ti-nHA） composite powders, composed of titanium with 10 vol.% and 20 vol.% of nano-hydroxyapatite, were milled in a planetary ball mill using alcohol media to avoid excessive heat. XRD and SEM were performed for characterization of the microstructure, and the homogeneity of Ti/HA nanocomposite powder was evaluated by EPMA with prolonged ball milling time. The results show that under the condition of wet milling, the grain size of Ti-nHA composite powders is decreased with the increase in ball milling time and the amount of the addition of nHA. While for milling of 30 h, the nanocomposite powder with free structure, which consists of the nano-hydroxyapatite （nHA） particles and titanium （Ti） phase, is obtained. Three stages of milling can be observed from the dement mapping of Ti, Ca, and P by EPMA; meanwhile, it is found that the nHA would be more homogenously distributed after milling for 30 h.
