An effective and reliable prediction of the remaining useful life(RUL)of a tool is important to a metal forming process because it can significantly reduce unexpected maintenance,avoid machine shutdowns and increase system *** study proposes a new data-driven approach to the RUL prediction for metal forming processes under multiple contact sliding *** data-driven approach took advantage of bidirectional long short-term memory(BLSTM)and convolutional neural networks(CNN).A pre-trained lightweight CNN-based network,WearNet,was re-trained to classify the wear states of workpiece surfaces with a high accuracy,then the classification results were passed into a BLSTM-based regression model as inputs for RUL *** experimental results demonstrated that this approach was able to predict the RUL values with a small error(below 5%)and a low root mean square error(RMSE)(around 1.5),which was more superior and robust than the other state-of-the-art methods.

The evolution of solar magnetic fields is significant for understanding and predicting solar *** our knowledge of solar magnetic fields largely depends on the photospheric magnetic *** this paper,based on the spherical harmonic expansion of the photospheric magnetic field observed by Wilcox Solar Observatory,we analyze the time series of spherical harmonic coefficients and predict Sunspot Number as well as synoptic maps for Solar Cycle *** find that solar maximum years have complex short-period disturbances,and the time series of coefficient g_(7)~0 is nearly in-phase with Sunspot Number,which may be related to solar meridional *** Long Short-Term Memory networks(LSTM),our prediction suggests that the maximum of Solar Cycle 2. is likely to occur in June 2.2. with an error of 8 months,the peak sunspot number may be 166.9±2..6,and the next solar minimum may occur around January *** incorporating Empirical Mode Decomposition,we enhance our forecast of synoptic maps truncated to Order 5,validating their relative *** prediction not only addresses a gap in forecasting the global distribution of the solar magnetic field but also holds potential reference value for forthcoming solar observation plans.

Preparation of NiTip/Al composites with controllable phase transformation and damping behavior by friction stir processing

The NiTip/1060Al composites were prepared using a pre-aging and friction stir method(FSP)to enhance the low-temperature damping performance of the aluminum alloy and accommodate various service *** bonding between NiTi particles and the 1060Al matrix is well established after FSP,and no new phases are formed in the *** phasetransformation peak temperature of NiTip/1060Al composites gradually shifts to lower temperatures with increased aging temperature of NiTi *** room temperature,the 550℃-NiTip/1060Al composite exhibits superior damping performance,with an internal friction value 144%higher than that of the FSP-1060Al ***,at-91℃,the 650℃-NiTip/1060Al composite demonstrates better damping performance,with an internal friction value 158%higher than that of the FSP-1060Al *** NiTip/1060Al composites exhibit the internal friction peak of NiTi phase-transformation in the temperature range from-91℃to 60℃.This characteristic results in significantly better damping performance compared to the FSP-1060Al alloy and other high-damping aluminum matrix composites.

Carbon fiber composites,characterized by their high specific strength and low weight,are becoming increasingly crucial in automotive ***,current research primarily emphasizes layer count and orientation,often neglecting the potential of microstructural design,constraints in the layup process,and performance *** study,therefore,introduces a multiscale reliability-based design optimization method for carbon fiber-reinforced plastic(CFRP)drive ***,parametric modeling of the microscale cell was performed,and its elastic performance parameters were predicted using two homogenization methods,examining the impact of fluctuations in microscale cell parameters on composite material performance.A finite element model of the CFRP drive shaft was then constructed,achieving parameter transfer between microscale and macroscale through Python *** enabled an investigation into the influence of both micro and macro design parameters on the CFRP drive shaft’s *** Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization(MOPSO)algorithm was enhanced for particle generation and updating strategies,facilitating the resolution of multi-objective reliability optimization problems,including composite material layup process *** studies demonstrated that this approach leads to over 30%weight reduction in CFRP drive shafts compared to metallic counterparts while satisfying reliability requirements and offering insights for the lightweight design of other vehicle components.

The effect of friction block hole configurations on the brake tribological performance of high-speed trains

Three triangular friction block configurations are commonly employed in high-speed train brake systems,namely,unperforated,perforated configuration with one circular hole,and perforated with three circular *** this study,we adopted these friction block types to investigate the effect of perforated friction block configurations on the brake performance of high-speed trains based on a self-developed brake test *** results indicate the significant impact of the number of the holes on the wear behavior,temperature distribution,and vibration characteristics of the brake *** friction surface of the unperforated block is covered by wear debris,while the perforated blocks produce less wear ***,the one-hole block exhibits a more uniform temperature distribution and better vibration behavior than that with three *** friction brake is a dynamic process,during which separation and attachment between the pad and disc alternatively occur,and the perforated structure on the friction block can both trap and expel the wear debris.

The shell composed of large-scale parts is the essential component of mechanical structures in the aerospace,shipping,and railway *** workpieces are characterized by thin walls and weak rigidity,thus requiring an effective technology for high-performance ***,an embedded locally resonant metamaterial with double resonators is proposed and combined with the magnetic follow-up support technology to attenuate the vibration of thin-walled parts for the first *** band structures and parametric adjustment laws are systematically investigated and validated by analytical calculation and finite element method,which proves the proposed model is broadband,lightweight,and flexible in low *** characteristics,as well as the relatively simple structure,are unique advantages for thin-walled structure ***,mirror milling experiments have been performed to assess the slave module with the proposed *** the results,the root mean square amplitude of the thin-walled workpiece with the combined device decreases by nearly 9%,which means that the performance has been improved by the combined ***,this work provides an integrated and efficient solution for vibration suppression in thin-walled parts milling,which extends locally resonant metamaterials to practical engineering fields and helps to improve the status quo of mirror milling from the perspective of metamaterials.

Current ecosystem models used to simulate global terrestrial carbon balance generally suggest that terrestrial landscapes are stable and mature,but terrestrial net primary productivity(NPP)data estimated without accounting for disturbances in species composition,environment,structure,and ecological characteristics will reduce the accuracy of the global carbon ***,the steady-state assumption and neglect of elevation-related changes in forest NPP is a *** Qilian Mountains are located in continental climate zone,and vegetation is highly sensitive to climate *** quantified aboveground biomass(AGB)and aboveground net primary productivity(ANPP)sequences at three elevations using field-collected tree rings of Picea crassifolia in Qilian Mountains of Northwest *** results showed that(1)There were significant differences between AGB and ANPP at the three elevations,and the growth rate of AGB was the highest at the low elevation(55.99 t ha^(–1)10a^(–1)).(2.There are differences in the response relationship between the ANPP and climate factors at the three elevations,and drought stress is the main climate signal affecting the change of ANPP.(3)Under the future climate scenario,drought stress intensifies,and the predicted decline trend of ANPP at the three elevations from mid-century to the end of this century is–0.02. t ha^(–1)10a^(–1),respectively;–0.02. t ha^(–1)10a^(–1);At–0.2.6 t ha^(–1)10a^(–1),the level of forest productivity was significantly *** results reveal the elevation gradient differences in forest productivity levels and provide key information for studying the carbon sink potential of boreal forests.

Recovery of microbial functions is one of the critical processes in the nutrient cycling of bauxite residue for improving *** is considered to be effective to increase microbial diversity and drive the development of the microbial community,but its effect on microbial carbon metabolism has not been *** present study evaluated the effects of phosphogypsum(PG),straw(SF)and phosphogypsum plus straw(PGSF)on physicochemical properties,enzyme activities,and microbial carbon metabolism activities in bauxite *** 180 days incubation,PG,SF and PGSF treatment significantly reduced the residue pH from 10.85 to 8.64,9.39 and 8.06,*** to CK treatment,SF treatment significantly increased the content of total organic carbon(TOC)and organic carbon fractions(DOC,MBC,EOC,and POC).In addition,straw addition significantly increased glucosidase,cellulose,urease,and alkaline phosphatase by 7.2.9.1 times,5.8-7.1 times,11.1-12.5 times,and 1.1-2.2.times,*** Biolog results showed that straw addition significantly increased microbial metabolic activity(AWCD)and diversity in bauxite *** analysis indicated total nitrogen(TN)and carbon fractions(POC,MBC and DOC)were the most important environmental factors affecting microbial metabolic activity and diversity in bauxite *** findings provided us with a biogeochemical perspective to reveal soil formation in bauxite residue and suggested that nutrient supplement and regulation of salinity-alkalinity benefit the establishment of microbial communities and functions in bauxite residue.
