A robust SQP method, which is analogous to Facchinei’s algorithm, is introduced. The algorithm is globally convergent. It uses automatic rules for choosing penalty parameter, and can efficiently cope with the possible inconsistency of the quadratic search subproblem. In addition, the algorithm employs a differentiable approximate exact penalty function as a merit function. Unlike the merit function in Facchinei’s algorithm, which is quite complicated and is not easy to be implemented in practice, this new merit function is very simple. As a result, we can use the Facchinei’s idea to construct an algorithm which is easy to be implemented in practice.

In this article,two thick loess-red clay sequences located at Lingtai and Jingchuan,the chinese Loess Plateau,are studied with emphases on magnetostratigraphy and sedimentology. Paleomagnetic measurements show that the Jingchuan red clay has a basal age of 8.0 Ma,which is one million years older than the previously studied Lingtai *** observations and grain size analyses both suggest an eolian origin of the red clay sediments at Lingtai and Jingchuan,thus extending available records of the eolian deposits in the Loess Plateau from 2.6 Ma back to 7.0-8.0 *** of five red clay sections in the Loess Plateau suggests that the Lingtai red clay sequence has a relatively continuous nature of sedimentation and can be regarded as the type-section of the Tertiary red clay deposits in northern *** the basis of spatial changes in the grain size of one northwest-southeast loess transect,several semiquantitative models of grain size parameters versus the minimum distance from the source region to depositional areas were developed. According to these models,the estimated eastern margin of the desert in northern china during the Tertiary red clay development is similar to that of the present Badain Jaran *** reconstruct the long-term East-Asia monsoon history from the celebrating eolian red clay-loess deposits,the ratios of CBD-extractable FeO to total FeO concentrations in the Lintai red clay-loess sequence,the proxy indicator for the summer monsoon changes,were *** Lingtai FeO ratio record indicates that the East-Asia summer monsoon has experienced a non-linear evolution over the past seven million *** strongest East Asia summer monsoon may occur between 4.1 and 4.8 Ma, which may be causally related to the relatively small ice volume and high global temperature during the early Pliocene.

A high power optically-pumped vertical-external-cavity surface-emitting laser with a diamond heatspreader is *** to the good thermal conductivity,diamond can accelerate the dissipation of heat in the active region and increase the output power *** effects of the curvature radius,the transmission of output coupler,the spot size of the pump,and the temperature of the heat sink on the output power are investigated.A maximum output power of 880 mW is obtained under the conditions of 10℃temperature,15-mm curvature radius,3%transmission of the output coupler,and 8500-mW pump *** slope efficiency and the optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of the laser are about 17%and 15%,respectively.

It would be very helpful for making countermeasures against complex water scarcity by analysis on systematic water *** on the previous researches on water scarcity classification,a classification system of water scarcity was established according to contributing factors,which comprises three water scarcity categories caused by anthropic factors,natural factors and mixed factors ***,the concept of systematic water scarcity was proposed,which can be defined as one type of water scarcity category caused by the discordance between water demand pattern determined by anthropic factors and water supply pattern controlled by natural factors in an evaluation region during a *** water scarcity has four features,namely space-time characteristic,scale property,externality and integrity,and can be divided into four developing phases including critical phase,early phase,middle phase and late phase according to various degrees of water scarcity.

In this paper,soil organic carbon was simulated in the next 50 years with CENTURY model in different climate scenarios at Damxung alpine meadow *** result shows that temperature and precipitation are the main contributor to the changes of soil organic *** in temperature and precipitation can reduce the accumulation of soil organic carbon resulting in the release of soil *** results are consistent in three climate change scenarios （temperature and precipitation increasing,temperature increasing and precipitation unchangeable,temperature unchangeable and precipitation increasing）.The content of soil organic carbon decreased,only slightly difference in extent in the three *** intensity was also a main factor to affect soil organic carbon and the influence on soil organic fractions was different.

Building information is extremely important for many applications such as urban planning,telecommunication,or environment monitoring *** attempts at automating the building detection process from images has met with limited success due to （1） spectral similarities between building rooftops and roads,（2. lack of spatial processing parameters for building geometry.A novel approach is presented in this paper based on aerial images and range *** using the height information provided by range images,buildings could be easily distinguish from other objects （***）.A new perceptual grouping technique is introduced for the purpose of organizing the low-level features （arcs and line segments） which are extracted from aerial *** final contours of the buildings are generated with the help of regularization *** reconstruction,a refinement is applied by an object-based perceptual grouping ***,the approach is applied to two datasets and promising experimental results are shown.

NanocrystaUine Ni powders were successfully fabricated by mechanically milling at cryogenic temperature （cryomilling） with 1 wt.%Y2.3 particles. The experimental results have shown that the Ni grain size is reduced to 2. nm after 2.h of cryomilling in the presence of the Y2.3 particles. The cryomiUed Ni/Y2.3 powders can maintain their nanocrystalline structure up to 900℃, or 62. of the melting point of Ni. A bulk nanocrystalline Ni/Y2.3 material with a thermally stable grain size of approximately 100 nm was produced by cryomilling, cold isostatic pressing, followed by hot isostatic pressing. The microhardness of bulk nanocrystalline Ni/1wt.%Y2.3 is 315 DPH, which is two times as high as that of conventional Ni.
