Research of Queuing Disciplines and Their Performances in ATM Switch

This paper introduces the principle of ATM switch, and discusses queueing disciplines and their performances. Authors describe the method of input queueing, output queueing, central queueing, combined input/output queuing, combined input/shared queueing, and multistage queueing in detail. They also present the relations between mean waiting time and input load. The queueing disciplines can be used to design the architecture of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) switch.

Thirteen security requirements for an ideal password authentication scheme using smart cards are listed and a new smart card based password authentication scheme with identity anonymity is proposed. The new scheme can satisfy all the listed ideal security requirements and has the following merits：（1） it can resist all the attacks listed in introduction; （2. less storage memory requirement due to no verification table stored in server; （3） low computational cost due to hash functions based operations; （4） even if the smart card is lost, the new system is still secure; （5） As user identity is anonymous, this scheme is more practical. The new proposed scheme can be applied in source constraint networks.

Data, including the spatial data and the non-spatial data, are the basis of all digital scientific engineering projects, such as the digital earth and the digital nation, the digital mine. The spatial data have the characteristics of many sources, multi-dimension, multi-type, many time states and different accuracy. The spatial data firstly must be processed before using these data. The parameter estimation model to process the data is commonly the more complex nonlinear model including random parameters and non-random parameters. So a generalized nonlinear dynamic least squares method to process these data is put forward. According to the special structure of the generalized nonlinear dynamic least squares problem and the solution to the first order, a new solving model and a corresponding method to process the problem are put forward. The complex problem can be divided into two sub-problems so that the number of the unknown parameters is reduced largely. Therefore it reduces the computing difficulty and load.

Semantic search is a key issue in integration of heterogeneous biological databases. In this paper, we present a methodology for implementing semantic search in BioDW, an integrated biological data warehouse. Two tables are presented: the DB2.O table to correlate Gene Ontology (GO) annotated entries from BioDW data sources with GO, and the semantic similarity table to record similarity scores derived from any pair of GO terms. Based on the two tables, multifarious ways for semantic search are provided and the corresponding entries in heterogeneous biological databases in semantic terms can be expediently searched.

The intelligent English-Chinese machine translation system (IMT/EC) integrates some outstanding features of the case grammar and semantic grammar into a uniform frame, and using various knowledge in the disambiguation, tries to modify the object language by itself. In this paper, IMT/EC’s design motivations and overall architecture are introduced, then the design philosophy of its translation mechanisms and their processing algorithms are described.

With the development of online social networks,a special group of online users named organized posters(or Internet water army,Internet paid posters in some literatures) have fl ooded the social network communities. They are organized in groups to post with specific purposes and sometimes even confuse or mislead normal *** this paper,we study the individual and group characteristics of organized posters. A classifier is constructed based on the individual and group characteristics to detect them. Extensive experimental results on three real datasets demonstrate that our method based on individual and group characteristics using SVM model(IGCSVM) is effective in detecting organized posters and better than existing methods. We take a first look at finding the promoters based on the detected organized posters of our IGCSVM method. Our experiments show that it is effective in detecting promoters.
