Calculation of maximum ground movement and deformation caused by mining

In order to know the maximum mining ground deformation of arbitrary surface point, directions of the maximum surface tilt, curvature,horizontal displacement and horizontal deformation caused by multi-working faces were deduced based on probability integral method. The distribution forms of surface deformations in all direction φ∈[0, 2.] were obtained and also equations of maximum deformations were given based on calculation of mining ground deformation in direction φ. A mining subsidence analysis system was developed with VB6.0. The system implements the probability integral mining subsidence prediction with direct integration method, and it can avoid errors of arbitrary shaped working face subdivision of traditional method, and accuracy of mining subsidence prediction can be improved with the direct integral method. The system implements the contour chart and profile chart and also data analysis automation by manipulation of the SURFER kernel function and it complements the defect of existing subsidence prediction software. Calculation of maximum deformations caused by multi-working faces mining in a coal mine of Xuzhou, China was shown as application example. Engineering application indicates that maximum deformation of mining ground surface can be calculated and analyzed by the system. The research provides a theoretical basis and calculation tool for mining subsidence prediction and analysis.

Numerical simulation of Meiyu front and the diagnosis of moist vorticity vector

Moist vorticity vector is introduced to study the development and evolution of mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) in the Meiyu front precipitation with the Advanced Regional Predication System (ARPS). In this study, the heavy rainfall is simulated to investigate the genesis, development and dissipation of middle scale convective vortex, which occurred from 0000 UTC 3 July to 12.0 UTC 5 July over the Jianghuai River valley. Moist vorticity vector (MVV) has zonal, radial and vertical components in its 3D spatial distribution. The simulation shows that the vertical component of moist vorticity vector well demonstrates the spatial distribution characteristics of middle scale convective vortex, especially in the process of Meiyu front precipitation. Diagnosis upon zonal, radial averaged and mass-integrated quantities of MVV shows that its vertical component and the surface precipitating ratio are in phase with a correlation coefficient of 0.68, indicating that the vertical component of MVV is closely associated with the Meiyu front precipitation. In addition, the tendency of the vertical component of MVV is mainly determined by the interaction between the vorticity and the zonal and radial gradient of condensational or depositional heating.

An aperiodic phenomenon of the unscented Kalman filter in filtering noisy chaotic signals

A non-periodic oscillatory behavior of the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) when used to filter noisy contaminated chaotic signals is reported. We show both theoretically and experimentally that the gain of the UKF may not converge or diverge but oscillate aperiodically. More precisely, when a nonlinear system is periodic, the Kalman gain and error covariance of the UKF converge to zero. However, when the system being considered is chaotic, the Kalman gain either converges to a fixed point with a magnitude larger than zero or oscillates aperiodically.

Suitability evaluation for land reclamation in mining area:A case study of Gaoqiao bauxite mine

Suitability evaluation plays an important role in land reclamation because the choice of evaluation methods affects the accuracy and objectivity of the suitability evaluation results. Furthermore, it influences the decision-making related to land reclamation. An improved method, which is called limit comprehensive conditions method, was developed after different suitability evaluation methods were studied. Based on this method, the reclaimed land of the Gaoqiao bauxite mining area was evaluated. The Gaoqiao mining area was divided into seven evaluation units that were evaluated respectively by selecting evaluation factors and establishing grade standards. The results show that the proposed method is more applicable and easier to handle. Moreover, its evaluation results are more scientific compared with the traditional evaluation methods. The improved method can be beneficial to the rapid monitoring and the effective management of reclaimed land in the opencast mine area.

Steganalysis of stochastic modulation steganography

Stochastic modulation steganography embeds secret message within the cover image by adding stego-noise with a specific probabilistic distribution. No method is known to be applicable to the estimation of stochastic modulation steganography. By analyzing the distributions of the horizontal pixel difference of images before and after stochastic modulation embedding, we present a new steganalytic approach to accurately estimate the length of secret message in stochastic modulation steganography. The pro- posed method first establishes a model describing the statistical relationship among the differences of the cover image, stego-image and stego-noise. In the case of stegoimage-only steganalysis, rough estimate of the distributional parameters of the cover image＇s pixel difference is obtained with the use of the provided stego-image. And grid search and Chi-square goodness of fit test are exploited to estimate the length of the secret message embedded with stochastic modulation steganography. The experimental results demonstrate that our new approach is effective for steganalyzing stochastic modulation steganography and accurately estimating the length of the secret message.

Suitability Evaluation on the information Service System of "Agricultural Science and technology 110" in Sichuan Province, China

Method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is used to carry out suitability evaluation on the information service system of "Agricultural Science and technology 110" in Sichuan Province, China. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and expert consultation method are used to determine the evaluation index system and index weight. Suitability effect of the information service system of "Agricultural Science and technology 110" is taken as the target layer. The five indices at criterion layer are the organizational mode of agricultural information service, the support system of agricultural information resources, the agricultural information transfer system, the capital source of agricultural information service, and the support system of agricultural information service. And the index layer includes the talent team of agent service, the interaction between the subject and object, the accuracy of agricultural information, the convenience of agricultural information transfer, the adequacy of fund, the efficiency in the use of fund, the status of information infrastructure and so on. Evaluation result shows that the information service system of "Agricultural Science and technology 110" in Sichuan Province is suitable for the rural economic development at present. The major factors restricting the information service system are the lack of continuity, the weak infrastructure of agricultural information infrastructure, and the relatively low education level of agricultural producers. Therefore, we should further explore and improve the operation mechanism of agricultural information service, expand the capital source of agricultural information service, strengthen the construction of agricultural infrastructure, and ensure the continuous operation of information service system.

Precise point positioning and its application in mining deformation monitoring

Precise point positioning (PPP)-based deformation monitoring scheme is presented for the use in mining deformation monitoring. Within the solutions of daily observation, outliers are detected and removed to avoid any potential misinterpretation of the results and then the deformation can be extracted by the coordinate differences between the two consecutive solutions. Meanwhile, because of the special location of a rover station in mining areas, the satellite geometry may be insufficient for a reasonable PPP solution, and the multipath impact an also be significant. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the satellite geometry before any daily observation. To evaluate the ability of extracting the deformation using the PPP-based method, various quality measures were introduced. The results of three datasets of the same station show that the precision of deformation monitored by PPP can reach up to cm level and even mm level.

Architecture and application of integrated spatial information service platform for digital mine

Using enterprise GIS platform, spatial databases and modern information technology, building geo-spatial information service platform of digital mine which has the features of the data exchange service, enterprise GIS services, directory services, logging services, is key technology and application infrastructure for digital mine. Based on the support of geospatial information service platform of digital mine, the professional GIS application service adapter can be developed and the application supports related to mining application system can be realized. Using high-resolution satellite remote sensing data, the mine functional partition map and geographic grids can be divided, and the geographic grid parts, status and events of important features of the surface object were investigated and defined. The system architecture and technical characteristics of integrated spatial information service platform were analyzed firstly, which guarantee service ability of digital mine. The methods and applications of functional partition map for integrated management service platform were discussed which are the services scheme of digital mine. The application results indicated that digital mine upgrades and enhances the capability and range of mine surveying and mapping, and is of great significance for guarantee of efficient, green and intensive exploitation of mine.

A fingerprint feature extraction algorithm based on curvature of Bezier curve

Fingerprint feature extraction is a key step of fingerprint identification. A novel feature extraction algorithm is proposed in this paper, which describes fingerprint feature with the bending information of fingerprint ridges. Ridges in the specific region of fingerprint images are traced firstly in the algorithm, and then these ridges are fit with Bezier curve. Finally, the point that has the maximal curvature on Bezier curve is defined as a feature point. Experimental results demonstrate that this kind of feature points characterize the bending trend of fingerprint ridges effectively, and they are robust to noise, in addition, the extraction precision of this algorithm is also better than the conventional approaches.

Methods of extracting change information and updating land use/cover map based on 3S technology

A fully automated approach for detecting land use/cover change using remote sensing data, GIS data, GPS data is presented. The integrating raster with vector methods of updating the basic land use/land cover map based on 3S technology is becoming one of the most important developing directions in 3S application fields, land-use and cover change fields over the world. It has been successful applied in two tasks of the Ministry of Land and Resources of China, and takes some benefit.
