Occurrence and Population Dynamics of Chironomids in Early-Season Rice Fields

The chironomid is one of the world wide distributed insects and normally occurs in a great abundance among many kinds of water bodies. Currently, our knowledge about the chironomid in rice fields is limited to the species survey, and it is considered as a group insect at the family level, termed as a kind of the neutral insects. By using the specially designed emergence traps, the species richness and the occurrence of the chironomid in rice fields were studied throughout the early season in Fuyang city, Zhejiang Province, china. There were four species, namely, Tanytarsus formosanus, Chironomus sinicus, Polypedilum nubifer and Tanypus punctipennis of chironomids collected from rice fields. All of them are widely distributed species. T. formosanus and C. sinicus were the most dominant species in rice fields. The succession of chironomids in the early season could be divided into two phases, the early and the late phases. The abundance of the chironomid was higher in the early phase than that in the late phase. It was estimated that there were around 3 million individuals of chironomids emerged from 667 m2.rice field throughout the early season. It was also found that the sex ratio of T. formosanus was female-biased during the early phase, whereas male-biased during the late phase. In contrast, the sex ratio of C. sinicus was male-biased throughout the early season.

We prove that, for any given vertexν* in a series-parallel graph G, its edge set can be partitioned into k= min{k′(G) + 1,δ(G)} subsets such that each subset covers all the vertices of G possibly except forν*, whereδ(G) is the minimum degree of G and k′(G) is the edge-connectivity of G. In addition, we show that the results in this paper are best possible and a polynomial time algorithm can be obtained for actually finding such a partition by our proof.

The Lamiaceae family is renowned for its terpenoid-based medicinal components,but Leonurus,which has traditional medicinal uses,stands out for its alkaloid-rich ***,the principal active compound found in Leonurus,has demonstrated promising effects in reducing blood lipids and treating ***,the biosynthetic pathway of leonurine remains largely ***,we present the chromosome-level genome sequence assemblies of Leonurus japonicus,known for its high leonurine production,and Leonurus sibiricus,characterized by very limited leonurine *** integrating genomics,RNA sequencing,metabolomics,and enzyme activity assay data,we constructed the leonurine biosynthesis pathway and identified the arginine decarboxylase(ADC),uridine diphosphate glucosyltransferase(UGT),and serine carboxypeptidase-like(SCPL)acyltransferase enzymes that catalyze key reactions in this *** analyses revealed that the UGT–SCPL gene cluster evolved by gene duplication in the ancestor of Leonurus and neofunctionalization of SCPL in ***,which contributed to the accumulation of leonurine specifically in ***,our comprehensive study illuminates leonurine biosynthesis and its evolution in Leonurus.

The triboogical characteristics and the mechanics compress behaviors of pure and composite ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) were investigated using tribological apparatus and universal materials testing apparatus *** show that there are direct relationships between the sliding friction, wear characteristics, and compression behaviors of UHMWPE composite. The composite of UHMWPE with added copper particles had great improvement in tribological characteristics and mechanics behaviors. Based on the experimental results, a microstructure model of UHMWPE-copper composite is preliminarily proposed.

Structural and electronic properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes adsorbed with 1-pyrenebutanoic acid,succinimidyl ester

The adsorption of a 1-pyrenebutanoic acid, succinimidyl ester (PSE) interacting with metallic armchair (n, n) carbon nanotubes (CNTs) (n= 3-13) was investigated by using a density-functional tight-binding method with an empirical van der Waals force correction. In this study of large systems involving weak interactions, our calculations showed that the pyrene ring of PSE could be spontaneously absorbed onto the CNTs surface through π-π stacking at the physisorption distances. Increasing of the CNTs diameter leads to a higher adsorption energy. After adsorption of PSE on its sidewall, the geometric and electronic structures of CNTs are basically undamaged. CNTs contribute to the main peak of the electron excitation procedure in the UV/vis spectrum, with a slight red shift after adsorption of PSE.

Study of MMLV RT-Binding with DNA using Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensor

Surface plasmon resonance biosensor technique was used to study the binding of Moloneymurine leukemia virus reverse transcriptase without RNase H domain （MMLV RT-） with DNA in the ab-sence and in the presence of *** DNA substrates,including single-stranded DNA （ssDNA）,DNA template-primer （T-P） duplex and gapped DNA,were immobilized on the biosensor chip surface usingstreptavidin-biotin,and MMLV RT--DNA binding kinetics were analyzed by different *** RT-could bind with ssDNA and the binding was involved in conformation *** RT- binding DNA T-Pduplex and gapped DNA could be analyzed using the simple 1:1 Langmuir *** lack of RNase Hdomain reduced the affinity between MMLV RT- and T-P *** effects of RT inhibitors,includingefavirenz,nevirapine and quercetin,on the interaction between MMLV RT- and gapped DNA were analyzedaccording to recovered kinetics *** slightly interfered with the binding between RT andDNA and the affinity constant in the presence of the inhibitor (KA=1.2.×106 M-1) was lower than in theabsence of the inhibitor (KA=4.61×106 M-1).Nevirapine induced relatively tight binding between RT andDNA and the affinity constant in the presence of the inhibitor (KA=1.47×107 M-1) was approximately threefolds higher than without nevirapine,mainly due to rapid association and slow ***,aflavonoid originating from plant which has previously shown strong inhibition of the activity of *** to have minimal effect on the RT-DNA binding.

The characteristics of sea fog with different airflow over the Huanghai Sea in boreal spring

Using the observations from ICOADS datasets and contemporaneous NCEP/NCAR reanalysis datasets during 1960-2.02.the study classifies the airflows in favor of sea fog over the Huanghai （Yellow） Sea in boreal spring （April-May） with the method of trajectory analysis,and analyzes the changes of proportions of warm and cold sea fogs along different paths of *** to the heat balance equation,we investigate the relationships between the marine meteorological conditions and the proportion of warm and cold sea fog along different airflow *** major results are summarized as follows.（1） Sea fogs over the Huanghai Sea in spring are not only warm fog but also cold *** proportion of warm fog only accounts for 44% in April,while increases as high as 57% in May.（2. Four primary airflow paths leading to spring sea fog are *** are originated from the northwest,east,southeast and southwest of the Huanghai Sea,*** occurrence ratios of the warm sea fog along the east and southeast airflow paths are high of 55% and 70%,while these along the southwest and northwest airflow paths are merely 17.9% and 50%.（3） The key physical processes governing the warm/cold sea fog are heat advection transport,longwave radiation cooling at fog top,solar shortwave warming and latent heat flux between airsea interfaces.（4） The characteristics of sea fog along the four airflow paths relate closely to the conditions of water vapor advection,and the vertical distribution of relative humidity.

Determination of ocean tide loading displacements in hong kong using GPS technique

Ocean tide loading (OTL) displacements of eight principal constituents at 12.sites in hong kong were determined using more than eight years of continuous GPS observations. Parameters of the OTL displacements were estimated using daily GPS solutions obtained with precise point positioning (PPP) technique. The results were compared with predictions from seven latest global ocean tide models. Gravity measurements of OTL in hong kong were also used to validate the GPS results. The study shows that the results from both the GPS and gravity measurements agree best with the GOT4.7 and NAO99b models, when the K1 and K2.constituents are excluded. The agreements between the GPS and the model estimates are generally at sub-millimeter level in both the horizontal and vertical directions, except for S2. K2.and K1 constituents that have relatively larger errors. After removing the systematic biases between the GPS and the model estimates, the misfits of M2. S2. N2. O1, P1 and Q1 at all sites are within 0.5 and 1.0 mm in the horizontal and the vertical directions, respectively, whereas K1 and K2.show relatively larger misfits of up to 2.3 mm. Both the GPS and the gravity S2.estimates have large biases with unknown reasons when compared with the modeled values, which needs to be further investigated. The study demonstrates that GPS is capable of estimating the OTL displacements with the same accuracy as the model predictions, especially for coastal areas.

Abundance and sources of particulate polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and aromatic acids at an urban site in central china

We conducted a simultaneous field study of PM_(2.5)-bound particulate polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and aromatic acids(AAs)in a polluted city Zhengzhou to explore the concentration,sources and potential conversion pathways between PAHs and AAs in different *** average concentrations of PM_(2.5),2.PAHs and 8AAs during the sampling period were 77μg/m^(3),75 ng/m^(3),and 2.3 ng/m^(3),*** concentration of both2.PAHs and 8AAs were highest in winter and lowest in summer with ratios of 6.3 and 2.3,*** with 5-7 rings were the main components of PAHs(52.),followed by 4rings PAHs(30%)and 2.3 rings PAHs(18%).According to the source appointment results obtained by positive matrix factorization,the main sources of PAHs were combustion and vehicle emissions,which account for 37%and 34%,respectively.8AAs were divided into three groups,including four benzene dicarboxylic acids(B2.As),three benzene tricarboxylic acids(B3CAs)and one benzene tetracarboxylic acid(B4CA).And interspecies correlation analysis with PM_(2.5)source markers were used to investigate potential *** acid(o-Ph)was the most abundant specie of 8AAs(157 ng/m^(3),55%of 8AAs),which was well correlated with ***,B3CAs and B4CA were highly correlated with sulfate and weakly correlated with levoglucosan,suggesting that secondary formation was their main *** logical oxidation products of PAHs,o-Ph and B3CAs showed good correlations with a number of PAHs,indicating possible photochemical oxidation pathway by *** addition,O_(3),NO_(2.,temperature and relative humidity have positive effects on the secondary formation of B3CAs.
