The development of new design strategies to create innovative structural materials,refine existing ones,and achieves compatible combinations of strength and plasticity remains a worldwide *** alloys,such as shape memory alloys(SMAs),bulk metallic glasses(BMGs),high entropy alloys(HEAs),and heterogeneous pure metals such as Cu,have excellent mechanical responses,but they still fall short of meeting all the requirements of structural materials due to specific flaws,such as lack of tensile de-formation for BMGs and low yielding strength for *** address these shortcomings,proposals such as integrating glassy matrices and crystallized alloys,such as HEAs/SMAs,have been ***,these solutions have unresolved issues,such as the challenging control of B2 phase formation in BMG ***,glass-crystal(A/C)laminated alloys with alternating layers have been reported to exhibit improved mechanical properties and activated work-hardening behaviors,but they still face press-ing issues such as bonding interfaces and unknown deformation *** review focuses on design routes such as the selection of alloy components and processing techniques,exploration of micro-structural evolution and deformation modes with an increase in strain,and future solutions to address pressing and unsolved *** prominent advantages include diversified deformation mechanisms,such as deformation twinning,martensitic phase transformation,and precipitation hardening,as well as tuned interactive reactions of shear bands(SBs)near the A/C ***,this review provides a promising pathway to design and develop structural materials in the materials field community.

Effects of retained dry material on the impact,overflow and landing dynamics

Spatial distribution of shallow landslides caused by Typhoon Lekima in 201. in Zhejiang Province, China

In recent years, the coastal region of Southeast China has witnessed a significant increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme rainfall events associated with landfalling typhoons. The hilly and mountainous terrain of this area, combined with rapid rainfall accumulation, has led to a surge in flash floods and severe geological hazards. On August 1., 201., Typhoon Lekima made landfall in Zhejiang Province, China, and its torrential rainfall triggered extensive landslides, resulting in substantial damage and economic losses. Utilizing high-resolution satellite images, we compiled a landslide inventory of the affected area, which comprises a total of 2,774 rainfallinduced landslides over an area of 2965 km2. The majority of these landslides were small to mediumsized and exhibited elongated, clustered patterns. Some landslides displayed characteristics of high-level initiation, obstructing or partially blocking rivers, leading to the formation of debris dams. We used the inventory to analyze the distribution pattern of the landslides and their relationship with topographical, geological, and hydrological factors. The results showed that landslide abundance was closely related to elevation, slope angle, faults, and road density. The landslides were predominantly located in hilly and low mountainous areas, with elevations ranging from 1.0 to 300 m, slopes of 20 to 30 degrees, and a NE-SE aspect. Notably, we observed the highest Landslide Number Density(LND) and Landslide Area Percentage(LAP) in the rhyolite region. Landslides were concentrated within approximately 4 km on either side of fault zones, with their size and frequency negatively correlated with distances to faults, roads, and river systems. Furthermore, under the influence of typhoons, regions with denser vegetation cover exhibited higher landslide density, reaching maximum values in shrubland areas. Geometry characteristics and wide temperature behavior of silicon-based GaN surface acoustic wave resonators with ultrahigh quality factor

Surface acoustic wave(SAW) resonators with an ultrahigh Q-factor are designed and fabricated on silicon-based gallium nitride(GaN/Si). The temperature-dependent performance is characterized over a wide range, from 1. to 500 K. Finite element analysis is employed to guide the design of the SAW resonator from indications of the Rayleigh mode and weak propagation direction dependence of SAW in the c-plane of GaN/Si. The SAW resonator with 1.0 pairs of interdigital transducers(IDT), 1.0 pairs of grating reflectors(GR) for each side, aperture size of 80 μm, metallization ratio of 0.5, and electrode width of 500 nm resonates at 1.91.3 GHz accordingly with an ultrahigh Q-factor of 7622 at room temperature, which contributes the fr× Qr, up to 1..583×1.1.Hz. A resonator operating over 1. to 500 K indicates an approximately linear decreasing temperature dependence above 280 K while being approximately constant below 40 K. The fitting to resonator characteristics using the modified Butterworth Van Dyke(m BVD) model reveals a reduction in both the electrode and mechanical losses while worsening the dielectric loss with cooling down.

K)*** such conditions,many molecules become depleted from the gas phase by freezing out onto dust ***,the N-bearing and deuterated species could remain gaseous under these extreme conditions,suggesting that they may serve as ideal *** this paper,using the Plateau de Bure Interferometer and Very Large Array observations at 1.3 mm,3.5 mm,and 1.3 cm,we investigate the possible habitats for NH_(3),NH_(2)D,H^(1.)CN,HC^(1.)N,SO,and C^(1.)O in eight massive precluster and protocluster clumps G1..1.,G1..21.G23.97N,G23.98,G23.44,G23.97S,G25.38,and *** found that the NH3cores are in good agreement with the 3.5 mm peak emission,but the NH_(3)is much more extended than the 3.5 mm emission *** SO distributions agree well with the 3.5 mm peaks for the evolved star formation stage,but we did not detect any SO emission in the four earliest star formation sources.C^(1.)O is a poor tracer in conditions of the cold(■1. Multiwavelength Observations of the Infrared Dust Bubble N75 and its Surroundings

Infrared dust bubbles play an important role in the study of star formation and the evolution of the interstellar *** this work,we study the infrared dust bubble N75 and the infrared dark cloud G38.93 mainly using the tracers C^(1.)O,HCO^(+),HNC and N_(2)H^(+)observed by the 30 m IRAM *** also study the targets using data from large-scale surveys:GLIMPSE,MIPSGAL,GRS,NRAO VLA Sky Survey and Bolocam Galactic Plane *** found that the C^(1.)O emission is morphologically similar to the Spitzer IRAC 8.0μm ***1.1.mm cold dust emission of G38.93 shows an elongated structure from southwest to *** ionized gas from G38.93 is surrounded by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon emission,which may be excited by radiation from *** found that the identified young stellar objects tend to cluster around G38.93 and are mostly in class II with several class I cases distributed around N75,but no class II *** also found evidence of expanding feedback,which could have triggered star formation.

Antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)might have great effect on ecological security and human *** are important reservoirs that receive tremendous amounts of pollutants ***,information on the proliferation of ARGs in seawater is still *** study performed field sampling to investigate the occurrence and distribution of ARGs in seawater of the South China Sea,which is the deepest and largest sea in *** results showed that the total absolute abundances of ARGs in seawater samples ranged from 2.1.1.^(3)to 2.3×1.^(4)copies/mL,with an of 5.0×1.^(3)copies/mL and a range of 2.2×1.^(3)–1.8×1.^(4)copies/mL for those with mobile genetic elements(MGEs).Genes resistant to multidrug,aminoglycoside,tetracycline,and fluoroquinolone antibiotics accounted for 77.3%–88.6%of total ARGs in *** and Cyanobacteria represented 32.1.–56.2%and 30.4%–49.5%of microbial community,***_MIT931. and Clade_la were the prevalent genera in seawater of the South China *** co-occurrence relationship existed among ARGs,MGEs,and *** activities had critical influence on ARGs and *** wastewater,wastewater treatment plant effluent,sewage,aquaculture tailwater,and runoff were determined as the important sources of ARGs in seawater of the South China Sea based on positive matrix factorization analysis.

Modelling the viscoplastic behaviour of Callovo-Oxfordian claystone with consideration of damage effect

In order to evaluate the performance of deep geological disposal of radioactive waste,an underground research laboratory(URL)was constructed by Andra in the Callovo-Oxfordian(COx)claystone formation at the Meuse/Haute-Marne(MHM).The construction of URL induced the excavation damage of host formations,and the ventilation in the galleries desaturated the host formation close to the gallery ***,it is expected that the mechanical behaviour of COx claystone is *** study presents a constitutive model developed to describe the viscoplastic behaviour of unsaturated and damaged COx *** this model,the unsaturation effect is considered by adopting the Bishop effective stress and the van Genuchten(VG)water retention *** terms of the viscoplastic behaviour,the nonstationary flow surface(NSFS)theory for unsaturated soils is used with consideration of the coupled effects of strain rate and suction on the yield stress.A progressive hardening law is ***,a non-associated flow rule is used,which is similar to that in Barcelona basic model(BBM).In addition,to describe the damage effect induced by suction change and viscoplastic loading,a damage function is defined based on the crack volume *** damage function contains two variables:unsaturated effective stress and viscoplastic volumetric strain,with the related parameters determined based on the mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP)*** the model validation,different tests on COx claystone under different loading paths are *** between experimental and simulated results indicated that the present model is able to well describe the viscoplastic behaviour of damaged COx claystone,including swelling/shrinkage,triaxial extension and compression,and triaxial creep.

Soil bacterial and fungal communities resilience to long-term nitrogen addition in subtropical forests in China

Atmospheric nitrogen(N)deposition is predicted to increase,especially in the ***,the responses of soil microorganisms to long-term N addition at the molecular level in N-rich subtropical forests have not been clarified.A long-term nutrient addition experiment was conducted in a subtropical evergreen old-growth forest in *** four treatments were:control,low N(50 kg N ha^(-1.a^(-1.),high N(1.0 kg N ha^(-1.a^(-1.),and combined N and phosphorus(P)(1.0 kg N ha^(-1.a^(-1.+50 kg P ha^(-1.a^(-1.).Metagenomic sequencing characterized diversity and composition of soil microbial communities and used to construct bacterial/fungal co-occurrence ***-treated soils were more acidic and had higher levels of dissolved organic carbon than *** were no significant differences in microbial diversity and community composition across *** addition of nutrients increased the abundance of copiotrophic bacteria and potentially beneficial microorganisms(e.g.,Gemmatimonadetes,Chaetomium,and Aureobasidium).Low N addition increased microbiome network *** rare fungi were identified as module hubs under nutrient addition,indicating that low abundance fungi were more sensitive to increased *** results indicate that the overall composition of microbial communities was stable but not static to long-term N *** findings provide new insights that can aid predictions of the response of soil microbial communities to long-term N addition.
