Multi-modality medical image fusion has mor. and mor. imp.r.ant ap.lications in medical image analysis and under.tanding. In this p.p.r. we develop.and ap.ly a multi-r.solution method based on wavelet p.r.mid to fuse medical images fr.m differ.nt modalities such as p.T-Mr. and CT-Mr.. In p.r.icular. we evaluate the differ.nt fusion r.sults when ap.lying differ.nt selection r.les and obtain op.imum combination of fusion p.r.meter..

Two p.r.llel methods for.magnetic r.sonance tmaging (Mr.) using r.dio fr.quency (r.) p.ased ar.ay sur.ace coiks, named sp.tial loca! Four.er.encoding (SLFE) and sp.tial r. encoding (Sr.E), ar. p.esented. The Mr.signals ar. acquir.d fr.m sep.r.te channels acr.ss the coils, each of which cover. a sub-FOV (field-of-view) in a p.r.llel fashion, and the acquir.d data ar. combined to for. an image of entir. FOV. These two p.r.llel encoding techniques can acceler.te Mr.imaging gr.atly, yet associated ar.ifact r.ay ap.ear. al-though the SLFE is an effective image r.constr.ction method which can r.duce the localized ar.ifact in some degr.es. By the Sr.E, r. coil ar.ay can be utilized for.sp.tial encoding thr.ugh a sp.cialized coil design. The images ar. acquir.d in a snap.hot with a high signal-to-noise r.tio (SNr. without the costly gr.dient system, r.sulting in gr.at saving of cost. Both mutual induction and aliasing effect of adja-cent coils ar. cr.tical to the success of Sr.E. The str.tegies of inver.e sour.
