Drought trend analysis in a semi-arid area of Iraq based on Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, Normalized Difference Water Index and Standardized Precipitation Index

Drought was a severe recurring phenomenon in Iraq over the past two decades due to climate change despite the fact that Iraq has been one of the most water-rich countries in the Middle East in the *** Iraqi Kurdistan Region(IKR)is located in the north of Iraq,which has also suffered from extreme *** this study,the drought severity status in Sulaimaniyah Province,one of four provinces of the IKR,was investigated for the years from 1998 to ***,Landsat time series dataset,including 40 images,were downloaded and used in this *** Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)and the Normalized Difference Water Index(NDWI)were utilized as spectral-based drought indices and the Standardized Precipitation Index(SPI)was employed as a meteorological-based drought index,to assess the drought severity and analyse the changes of vegetative cover and water *** study area experienced precipitation deficiency and severe drought in 1999,2000,2008,2009,and *** findings also revealed a drop in the vegetative cover by 33.3%in the year ***,the most significant shrinkage in water bodies was observed in the Lake Darbandikhan(LDK),which lost 40.5%of its total surface area in *** statistical analyses revealed that precipitation was significantly positively correlated with the SPI and the surface area of the LDK(correlation coefficients of 0.92 and 0.72,respectively).The relationship between SPI and NDVI-based vegetation cover was positive but not *** precipitation did not always correspond to vegetative drought;the delay of the effect of precipitation on NDVI was one year.

Paper explores the consequences of workplace spirituality, organizational emotional ownership and job satisfaction among IT （Information Technology） professionals of India. This study was designed with the objective to study workplace spirituality, organizational emotional ownership and job satisfaction as predictors to cope up with job stress. A sample of 100 project managers （i.e. IT professionals） from the different organizations, namely: Cognizant, Infosys and HCL was collected. Survey method was used for the study. The analysis of the data had been done by employing the techniques of Pearson’s product moment coefficient of correlation and step-wise multiple regression. Analysis of the data reveals that workplace spirituality, organizational emotional ownership and job satisfaction are negatively correlated with job stress. We have also found that workplace spirituality emerged as the strongest predictor to cope up with job stress.

In this paper, we propose a new tracking method that uses Three Temporal Difference（TTD） and the Gaussian Mixture Model（GMM） approach for object tracking. TTD method is the use of a continuous image subtraction. The GMM approach consists of three different Gaussian distributions, the average, standard deviation and weight respectively. There are two important steps to establish the background for model, and background updates which separate the foreground and background . This paper combines the TTD and GMM object tracking. The advantages of TTD quick calculations and the disadvantage is a lack of complete object tracking. The advantage of GMM is complete results of the operation the disadvantage is not a complete object tracking, GMM result of the operation complete but disadvantages include computing for a long time with more noise. These two methods can complement each other and image filtering results in the successful tracking of objects.

In recent years, under pressures of the global energy crisis and climate change, shale gas（SG） was widely concerned as a relatively clean source of energy. One of the widely used technologies to exploit SG is hydraulic fracturing, which consumes a large amount of fresh water, pollutes water environment, and destroys ecological environment. China, which has the world’s largest amount of SG, has begun to carry out researches and tests on SG exploitation by learning the technology and experience from developed countries. However, the imbalance between supply and demand of freshwater became the biggest constraint;water pollution situation and potential geological disaster risk put forward higher requirements for pollution prevention in exploiting SG. Water pollution could be effectively prevented by taking technological innovation, environmental supervision, environmental risks prevention and other measures in exploiting SG.

The study investigated the effect of Benthosemapterotumpeptide on aging in mice. Mice aged of 3 monthswere divided into A toE groups. Mice in group B to E were injected with D-galactose, and orally administered Benthosemapterotum peptide at 0, 10, 50, and 100 mg/d, respectively, for 6 weeks after 6-week induction. Group A as the control group was injected with saline without treatment. The results showed that brain-derived neurotrophy factor （BDNF） level in the braindecreased in group B was significantly increased in treated groups. Time to platform in group A, D, and E was significantly less than that in group B. Group A had more correct annulus crossings and latency time in platform than group B. Group C had similar correct annulus crossings and latency time in platform as group A. Therefore, Benthosemapterotum peptideelevates brain BDNF and improves memory function in aging mice.

Atropine has been used in ECT to eliminate parasympathetically mediated dysrhythmias. However, it may increase heart rate and myocardial workload. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of atropine premedication on the heart rate and blood pressure. Study was performed in 80 patients referred for a course of ECT. They enrolled randomly in one of the two equal groups to receive atropine premedication or placebo. ECT protocol was the same for both groups except for atropine 0.5 mg which injected intravenously in the case group. There was no significant difference between heart rate and MAP in atropine 0.5 mg group compared to placebo at the most of the time points. We concluded the use of intravenous atropine 0.5mg prior to induction of ECT anesthesia has no significant effect on heart rate and MAP while it may has some protective effect against bradyarrhythmias.

Loess landslide is one of the serious geological disasters in and around the loess plateau in northwest of *** the major type of loess landslide in this area,loess-bedrock landslide widely distributes,frequently occurs,and causes serious casualties and property *** the formation mechanism and protection countermeasures arousing increasingly,the scientists have paid close attention and got a series of research *** is very important of systematic summary and thorough analysis of the loess-bedrock landslide for reducing disasters caused by loess *** acquired achievements of the loess-bedrock landslide have been summarized on classification,formation mechanism,influencing factors and hazard range,and some main fields are put forward for further researching:（1） to explore the control action and boundary effect of paleo-weathering crust upon the top of bedrock for the loess-bedrock landslide;（2） to research the influence of the orientation and the top fluctuant configuration of bedrock and the slope structure on loess landslide;（3） to study the relationship between the landslide formation and the slope profile structure,the physical,hydrological and mechanical properties of the rock-soil mass;（4） to research the critical value of locked segment in the loess-bedrock cutting layer landslide;（5） to analyze the main influencing factors and forecast the hazard range of different types of the loess-bedrock landslide.
