OPTIMIZING MULTI-PATH ROUTING BY AVOIDING KEY NODES

In this paper, we propose a new routing algorithm which combines source routing and intermediate routing in order to meet the requirement of node disjointed path and scalability. We also discover the existing of Key Nodes which we call KN, KN are the transmission congestion host spots, also in multi-path routing, they will lead to a low performance in disjointed path. We give a simple, effective method to detect KN and avoid them. The result of simulation shows that this method can obtain a good performance on disjointed path, and can significantly improve network reliability.

With the evolvement of the Internet and network services,broadband user behavior tends to *** is a rising challenge for the network operators to understand network user *** this paper,we present a general approach for identification and profiling user behavior model by using data mining technique to analyze user activity *** present analysis of a data set comprised of the dial-up users’ usage data in a typical metropolitan area network of a national broadband operator in *** data recorded activity of over 250,000 unique user *** identify several main behavior groups by using K-means algorithm,and further summarize behavior profile of each user group as main user behavior *** results show that our approach can properly identify user behavior *** results provide a basis for network operators to understand dial-up user behavior,optimize network planning and adjust customer related policies accordingly.

Audio segmentation and classification can provide useful information for multimedia content *** this paper,we present a approach to segment and categorize the sports audio into speech,music and other environmental sounds for sports video classification and highlight *** investigate the performance of Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients （MFCC） in a Gaussian Mixture Model frame work,and compare it to traditional short-time energy and zero-crossing rate *** achieve a correct identification close to 90% on MFCC with its first and second derivatives.

Layering techniques effectively cope with network heterogeneity encountered in media *** work on network coding shows that the multicast throughput can be greatly improved by allowing coding operation at the intermediate nodes in the *** this paper,we study the problem of lexicographically fair bandwidth allocation to make the receivers of different sessions share network bandwidth fairly in multi-session layered media multicast using network coding and formulate it into an integer linear programming （ILP）.Because the ILP is not time efficient when the network is large,a LP-based polynomial time algorithm ApprOpt is proposed to approximate the optimal solution of the *** results show that the throughput of all media multicast sessions is significantly improved by network coding,and that algorithm ApprOpt allocates network bandwidth very close to the optimal solution of the ILP and utilizes network bandwidth efficiently.
