Functional nitronyl nitroxide radicals for the construction of metal compounds

摘 要:Nitronyl nitroxide(NIT) radicals are a kind of stable radicals that can directly coordinate with metal ions and produce the strongest possible magnetic coupling[1].Functional nitronyl nitroxide radicals may coordinate two or more metal ions to assemble radical-metal complexes with interesting crystal structures[2,3].In this abstract,we designed and synthesized two different compounds based on the NIT-4PyPh radical(NIT-4PyPh=2-[4-(4-pyridinylmethoxy)phenyl]-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide) and NIT-o-QN radical(NIT-o-QN=2-(quinoxaline-2-yl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide),namely[{Cu(hfac)}(NIT-4PyPh)](1) and[{Cu(hfac)}(NIT-o-QN)](2),*** structures of complexes 1 and 2 are shown in Figure *** 1 is constructed from a[{Cu(hfac)-radical}]dimer ring added two Cu(hfac) molecules by its uncoordinated NO *** for complex 2 is a trinuclear *** Cu ions are located in elongated octahedral coordination ***1 is surrounded by four O atoms from two hfac ligands,one O atom from the NO group of one NIT-o-QN ligand,and one N atom from the quinoxaline *** Cu2 is coordinated by two N atoms from two quinoxaline ligands and completed to six by four O atoms from two didentate hfac *** conclusion,using functional nitronyl nitroxide radicals is a successful strategy to build varieties of crystal structures.
