摘 要：A new concept of Spar,named S-Spar,is proposed in this *** is characterized by a slim cylindrical midsection which will lead to moderate wave load and a circular central *** diameter of the midsection is the same as that of the centre ***,three heave plates with the same diameter as the hull of S-Spar could be equipped on *** this paper,the conceptual design of S-Spar is released at *** then,the response amplitude operators（RAOs） of S-Spar are calculated to investigate its dynamic ***,the dynamic responses of S-Spar under the first and second order wave loads are computed to investigate its hydrodynamic performances.A comparison with a typical Truss Spar is made to see whether it has any advantages over Truss Spar and whether or not the design is practical to be applied in *** results show that the dynamic characteristics and hydrodynamic performance of the S-Spar are as expected and comparable to a typical Truss Spar.
