Hypomagnetic Field Decreases the Exercise Capacity and Inhibits the Mitochondrial Function in Muscle in Adult Male Mice

摘 要：It has been established that the elimination of Geomagnetic field(GMF),so called the Hypomagnetic field(HMF),has adverse effects on the development,physiology and behaviors of animals.A few studies have reported that the HMF affects the locomotion capacity in ***,the effect of HMF exposure on the overall exercise capacity remains *** this study,we simulated an HMF condition by using a 3-axis Helmholtz coils system and reared adult male C57 mice in the HMF for one *** with the GMF control mice,the maximal distance in treadmill test of the HMF-exposed mice were significantly *** addition,the HMF-induced decrease in exercise capacity was restored after one month’s recovery in the GMF.A consolidated change on metabolic indexes in the tissues of the one-month HMF-exposed mice was ***-microscopy showed that the mitochondria morphology in the skeletal muscle were altered after the HMF *** findings indicate that elimination of GMF significantly decreases the exercise capacity and weakens the metabolic process and the function of the skeletal muscle in adult mice.
