Optimizing the Nanostructure of Electrode Materials for Improved Battery Performance

摘      要:Two representative work will be discussed in this talk: Firstly the construction of uniform coating layer on different cathode materials for an improved battery performance. I’ll report our research progress on the formation of different types of nanoshells with their thickness being precisely-controlled achieving one nanometer accuracy. Different shell materials will be illustrated here including AlO, carbon and AlPO. The cathode materials with an optimized core-shell structure shows improved cyclability and thermal stability benefiting from the delicate surface control. Secondly I’ll introduce our work on the construction of uniform hollow hybrid microspheres for LiTiO through an interesting synthetic process which we identified as the progressive inward crystallization. I’ll also demonstrate the advantage of such a structure control for its application as a promising anode material in lithium ion battery.
