Identification of a Novel Cysteine Rich Effector SCR2 from Plant Oomycete Pathogens

摘 要:Oomycete,a group of filamentous plant pathogens,is responsible for most notorious crop diseases such as potato late blight that threaten the global food *** has been known that many small cysteine rich(SCR) effectorgenes are highly inducedduring oomycete infection,however,the molecular mode of actions of SCR effectors remain largely unknown.A preliminary bioinformatics analysis combined with high-throughputin planta screening assay resulted in the identification of a Phytophthora infestans cysteine rich effector SCR2,which could trigger significant reactive oxygen burst,defence related gene induction and hypersensitive response in Nicotiana *** many other SCR effectors,SCR2 orthologs are wildly presented in oomycete plant pathogens,including species from Phytophthora,Hyaloperonospora,Pythium and *** induced gene silencing(VIGS) found that SCR2 induced host immunity required immune hub regulator BAK1 and akinase MAPKKKξ.Furthermore,chemical inhibition assay suggested that Serine proteases are also involved in SCR2 *** summary,we identified a novel SCR effector with priming host immunity *** biochemical functions of SCR2 and the mechanisms of recognition deserve further investigations.
