摘 要：In this paper I examine the personal creative route that I took to establish a body of work（5 large drawings） that was inspired from a visit to Korea.I focus on my motivations with regard to this *** major considerations were my wish to employ drawing as a primary research tool;that the works would be highly subjective pieces dealing with memory and associations and that they would directly refer to the development of visual languages established in early part of the 20th century（collage and montage）.I will seek to place the work recognizably within the traditions and values of contemporary painting and offer an understanding of the emotional and aesthetic issues that drove the making of the work.I will attempt to describe a personal mythology centered upon virtue and democracy that informs the work.I will lodge a case for drawing and the tuition of drawing as a necessary part of students’ education.
