EXPERIENCE WITH MODERNIZING A CONTINUOUS GALVANIZING LINE AT AMEH/GERMANY

摘 要：In February of 2007,ArcelorMittal Eisenhiittenstadt placed an order with EBNER to increase the capacity of their galvanizing line(VZA2) built in *** furnace in question was radiant tube heated and mainly used to anneal and galvanize material for the automotive industry. The order comprises: -a radiant-tube heated pre-heating furnace with soak zone(RTH/S) -HICON jet cooler(HJC) -conversion of the soaking zone ahead of thehot bridle-associated upper and lower roll boxes with deflector rolls and connecting ducts new,more powerful air cooler beyond the zinc pot(APC) moving/reusing the up-pass of the existing gas jet cooler(GJC) In order to increase annual throughput from 420,000 t to 500,000 t,the radiant tube heated furnace section was extended by a total of eight ***’s newly developed HICON jet cooler(patent pending) uses a high gas velocity to cool the material from annealing temperature to zinc bath temperature extremely quickly. The maximum strip speed for galvanizing is 165 m/min,for galvannealing it is 135 m/min. The combustion system of the new EBNER radiant tube heated furnace was completed and commissioned by October 10,*** facility was shut down for seven days to eliminate a bypass and incorporate the new heating chamber into the facility. The totally modernized galvanizing line has been in operation since October 17,2008,and following a brief warm-up phase,has been producing up to 20%more galvanized steel strip of the highest quality.
