摘 要：Objective:The prevalence of obesity is rapidly increasing world-wide. According to TCM, overweight and obesity share a common and fundamental deficiency, which is basically identifable with a failure in bolus transportation and absorption. As a result of this failure, the organism cannot assimilate adequate amounts of the nutrients required for physiological energy supply, peripheral tissues are inadequately fed, and the metabolic activity necessary for waste elimination is compromised. Therefore, large amounts of waste products are stored in peripheral areas of the weakened organism. This phenomenon results in an increased demand of nutrients and, therefore, a more intake of food.
