On Features of Forms and Composing Trees of Kune （High Hedge） as Element of Cultural Landscape in the Area along Edogawa-River in Chiba Prefecture

摘 要：正The Kune , trimmed high hedge, is distributed along Edogawa-River of Chiba prefecture. The site of farmhouse has been banked because of prevention of floods. That is a type of landscape for the natural disaster prevention. It shows the feature of cultural landscape of this region. This study aims to find the types of form and composing trees of Kune. The site of the research （7 ha） is the agricultural and residential area with high-rise buildings where has been cultivated since 18th century as rice field. Before that time it had been marsh area along Edogawa-River. The tree species used for Kune are Mochinoki （llex integra）, Yabutsubaki （Camellia japonica） and Inumaki （Podocarpus macrophyllus）. By comparing with the other cases of Kune in Japan it will be found out the local feature of the Kune of this area.
