摘 要：In order to achieve the goal of training students, it is necessary to combine public English with specialized courses in higher vocational colleges. In this case, public English is given a new function, in addition to its basic ones. That is to say, public English not only acts its basic parts, but also plays its practical role. The article discusses the reform of public English in such aspects as teaching patterns, teaching content, evaluation and so on.
