摘 要：The Digital Humanities is a new inter-disciplinary research field concerned with the intersection of computing and the disciplines of the *** involves investigation,analysis,synthesis and presentation of knowledge using computational *** Art Research Center(ARC) at Ritsumeikan University has launched the 5 year Global COE(Center of Excellent) Program supported by the Ministry of Education,Culture,*** and Technology(MEXT) since 2007,which title isthe Digital Humanities Center for Japanese Arts and Cultures. This program seeks a deeper study of the humanities based on Digital Humanities whose subjects are Japanese art and culture,centered on the historic city of *** will make full use of the most advanced information technologies,such as digital archives,databases,Geographical Information Systems(GIS) and Web *** systematically organized information on Japanese art and culture will be open,cooperative and useful in a wide variety of *** we will serve as a global portal for the study of Japanese art and *** aim to create a new system of cultural exchanges among talented researchers and to make the results of research available throughout the *** see the historic city of Kyoto as both a base for promoting scholarship on Japanese art and culture around the world,and a global hub for education and research.
