摘 要:Objectives: *** the anatomy and physiology of post-stroke spasticity *** the concept of spinal segmental sensitization and apply desen- sitization techniques using acupuncture needles in reducing spasticity *** the localization of points to desensitize on a local and central level using acupuncture needles to reduce spasticity *** the anatomy and basic science of scalp acupuncture *** of superficial and deep muscles used for Botulinum Toxin injection This workshop is designed to provide the participants with direct hands on experience in the practice of office physiatric procedures using acupuncture, spinal segmental desensitization, use of functional electrical stimulation and practical identification of involved muscles techniques for neuromusclar block- ade to improve function and quality of life in stroke *** available imaging modalities used to physiologically evaluate acupuncture-induced changes will also be *** case studies will be reviewed. Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to: *** the use of scalp needling associated with electrical stimula- tion to reduce spasticity and recover function in chronic ischemic stroke patients. *** the sensitized spinal segment level of involvement by clinical examination and apply desensitization techniques to reduce post-stroke spasticity. *** the anatomical localization of most involved superficial and deep muscles in post-stroke spastic patients and check using needles.
