摘 要：The elderly fraction of the population is hardly spared from spine disease and are regularly rav- aged by degenerative,traumatic and neoplastic *** are often faced with patients who,although chrono- logically advanced in age,were physiologically fit and mobile but are rendered moribund from spinal *** standard preparation techniques for geriatric patients,it has been possible to identify those patients who would toler- ate surgery and to deliver comprehensive operative treatment to this subset of the population in a safe and acceptable *** management of such patients require planning,technique and constant vigilance both in the operative and perioperative phase,making it a most challenging but not an insurmountable feat.
