摘 要:Despite widespread vaccine coverage, the incidence of whooping cough (pertussis) , has again risen recently. The causative agents, Bordetella brochiseptica, Bordetella parapertussis and Bordetella pertussis, are closely related gram-negative pathogen. B. pertussis is exclusively human-adapted and is the primary etiologic agent of acute childhood respiratory whooping cough;B. parapertussis has been only associated with similar respiratory infection in human and sheep;B. brochiseptica infects a wide range of mammalian host, including rat, rabbit, dog and human, and typically causes chronic, asymptomatic infections.
