Immunomodulatory activity and antioxidant effects of water soluble polysaccharides extracted from the stroma of Cordyceps kyushuensis

摘 要:Four polysaccharide fractions were extracted and purified from the cultured stroma of Cordyceps kyushuensis using DEAE-cellulose 23 and Sephadex G-150 column chromatography. Preliminary structural characterizations were conducted by fourier transform infrared(FTIR) and physicochemical property. The antioxidant activities were evaluated by DPPH radical method and protective effect of DNA damage. Good immunomodulatory activities of the polysaccharides were also determined in vivo and in vitro. The results showed that the polysaccharides could promote splenocyte proliferation with or without concanavalin A(ConA) and lipopolysaccharide(LPS), strengthen peritoneal macrophages to devour neutral red and increase the production of interleukin-2(IL-2), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) in serum, which provided the theoretical basis for the further application of Cordyceps kyushuensis.
