The role of rubber hand illusion in pain

摘 要：The sense of body ownership can be easily disrupted during ***,the most popular behavioral task for studying the visual-proprioceptive integration is the rubber hand illusion（RHI）.Previous studies have demonstrated that RHI could evoke a decrease in the ability to sense the tactile stimuli delivered to the participants’ own ***,we wonder if pain perception,as an important sensation in our daily life,would be influenced by the RHI or *** healthy volunteers participated in this *** were asked to rate the intensity and unpleasantness of pain stimuli evoked by laser,under three different RHI conditions:the synchronous,the asynchronous and the control *** statistical results showed that pain rating is significant lower in the synchronous condition than that in the control condition（P 0.01）,which indicated that the RHI indeed significantly induced the change of pain ***,the study may provide the neural and behavioral basis for the assessment and treatment of clinical pain.
